Omie Brown

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Omie Hall Brown, 95, of Rock Hill died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Beverly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sollie Hicks officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in Airline, Ga., Mrs. Brown retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Co. after 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years.

She was the widow of John Roddey Brown.

Surviving is her brother, Hoyt Hall of Elberton, Ga.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to First Baptist Church, 215 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Maurice Dixon

SPARTANBURG - Maurice Roddey Dixon, 90, of Magnolia Manor in Spartanburg died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lando Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Thrailkill officiating.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Chester County. She was retired from Monetta Mill in Lando and was a member of Heath Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Cecil L. Dixon.

Surviving are two sons, C. Adell Dixon of Lugoff and Russell L. Dixon of Spartanburg; her daughter, Marcella Williams of Saluda; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home in Chester.

Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center Hospice, 120 Heyward Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302.

Alvin Lewis

ROCK HILL - Mr. Alvin T. Lewis of 707 Ogden Road died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.D. Montgomery officiating, assisted by the Revs. B.R. Wilson and Michelle Dunham. The Rev. George Lowry will deliver the eulogy.

Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Lewis was a York County native and a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church. He was a U.S. postal employee and a U.S. Army veteran of eight years, serving in Hawaii and Fort Hood, Texas. He was a 1975 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended Houston Tilton College in Austin, Texas.

Surviving are his daughter, Stacy S. Lewis of Austin; his brother, Maj. Terry L. Lewis of Houston; and his sister, Wanda Lewis of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Bertie Litchfield

MONCKS CORNER - Mrs. Bertie Hood Shuler Litchfield, 96, of Macedonia died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at a Moncks Corner nursing home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be at New Hope United Methodist Church cemetery in Shulerville.

Born in Berkeley County, Mrs. Litchfield was a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was first married to W. Elvin Shuler and was the widow of Lee Litchfield.

Surviving are two sons, W. Dennis Shuler and Aaron F. Shuler, both of Macedonia; two daughters, Adeline S. Pless and Blanche S. Stroud, both of Rock Hill; two sisters, Channie Taylor of North Charleston and Effie Dupree of Pensacola, Fla.; her stepdaughter, Velda L. Mitchum of Macedonia; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Russell Funeral Chapel is in charge.

James Holit Crowe

FORT MILL - Mr. James E. Holit Crowe, 63, of 404 Steele St. died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at El Bethel AME Zion Church in Lancaster County, with the Rev. C.J. Young officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Holit Crowe was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of El Bethel AME Zion Church and the Golden Rule Lodge No. 102 in Fort Mill. He attended Lancaster County schools. He was the widower of Willie Mae Crowe.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Crowe of Columbia and Anthony Holit of Charlotte; two brothers, David Holit of Charlotte and Bernest Holit of Fort Mill; two sisters, Ellena Heath of Charlotte and Brenda Crowder of Lancaster; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church and at other times at home. The body will be placed in the church at noon Saturday.

Parker Funeral Home is in charge.

Ruby Ham

DARLINGTON - Mrs. Ruby Hutson Robinson Ham, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Belk Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lake Swamp Cemetery.

Mrs. Ham was a native of Darlington.

Surviving are four sons, Jerry Robinson and Ronnie Robinson, both of Florence, Edward "Red" Robinson of Darlington and Richard Robinson of Timmonsville; her stepson, James Robinson of Rock Hill; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Belk Funeral Home.

James Junker

CLINTON - The Rev. James Arthur Junker, 86, of The Presbyterian Home died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at home.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Neely's Creek ARP Church, with the Rev. Bill Fleming and the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Rea Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Neely's Creek ARP Church cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The Rev. Junker was educated in the Galeton, Pa., public schools and Robert's Wesleyan Junior College, He earned his AB degree from Greenville College in Greenville, Ill., and his S.T.B. from the Biblical Seminary of New York. He pastored Free Methodist churches in the New York and Maryland. He served as a missionary in Brazil and then pastored congregations in Maryland and Pennsylvania. In retirement, he served as supply pastor for several churches in Providence Presbytery.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Grier Lesslie Junker; two sons, Dr. David A. Junker of Greenville and Dr. James L. Junker of Durham, N.C.; his daughter, the Rev. Susan Junker Speakman of Erie, Pa.; two brothers, Dr. W. Duane Junker of Frederick, Pa., and Dr. Barnett Junker of Allentown, Pa.; his sister, Betty Turk of Huntsville, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home.
