Richard Hewitt

TEGA CAY - Mr. Richard Graydon Hewitt, 70, of 1204 Palawan Court died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Frank Kik officiating. A private burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Hewitt served in the Army, graduated from Heidleburg College in Ohio and attended graduate school at Louisiana State University. He retired from the Social Security Administration in Baltimore and moved to Tega Cay several years ago. He was an active member of Carolina Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Rice Hewitt; two sons, Larry Hewitt of Baltimore and Gregory Hewitt of Wilmington, N.C.; his daughter, Karen Hewitt of Tega Cay; his mother, Jessie Brown Hewitt of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1090 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

James Jones Jr.

CHESTER - Mr. James Ellison Jones Jr., 96, formerly of 154 Lacey St., died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip and the Rev. Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating.

Mr. Jones was a retired sewing machine repairman at Brunson's of Chester. He was the widower of Belle McDowell Jones.

Surviving are his son, William E. Jones of Columbia; his daughter, Isabell Young of Chester; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 518, Chester, SC 29706.

Lena Robinson

MONROE, N.C. - Mrs. Lena Mullis Robinson, 64, of Monroe died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Union Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at McEwen Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Duell Hinson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Robinson was a retired beautician.

Surviving are her son, Ken Bingham of Indian Trail, N.C.; her daughter, Shelia Bingham Wallace of Monroe; her brother, Ray Mullis of Rock Hill; her sister, Ada Mae Hunter of Matthews; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.

Ralph Rudder Jr.

CHESTER - Mr. Ralph Rudder Jr., 71, of Pine Ridge Road died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Gardens, with the Rev. Bill Heustess officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Rudder was a retired printer with the Chester News. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a U.S. Army and veteran of the Marines.

Surviving is his daughter, Jan Byars, of Chester.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Pauline Dixon

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Pauline Wilson Dixon, 89, formerly of 3 Birch Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Irvin officiating.

Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls. She was educated in Fairfield County schools.

Surviving are her son, Bert A. Dixon Jr. of Great Falls; two daughters, Doris Cheek of Columbia and Sara Capps of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 606 Dearborn St., Great Falls, SC 29055.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Bobby Jean Grant

CHESTER - Mrs. Bobby Jean Moon Grant, 71, of 568 Glenn St. died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Chester Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Grant was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She attended York County schools. She was the widow of William Carroll Grant.

Surviving are two sons, Stewart Grant and Ray Grant, both of Chester; his sister, Florine Adams of York; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of South Carolina, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, SC 29260.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Wayne Guidebeck Sr.

YORK - Mr. Wayne Henry Guidebeck Sr., 54, of 3043 Agean Lane died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. today at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Burleson officiating.

Mr. Guideback was a retired Army staff sergeant. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judith Jones Guidebeck; five sons, Bobby J. Guidebeck of Centerville, Va., Wayne H. Guidebeck Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Kirk W. Guidebeck of Grand Prairie, Texas, Christopher G. Guidebeck of Reseda, Calif., and Randall S. Guidebeck of Clover; two daughters, Adele G. Zinner of Louisville, Ky., and Brenda G. Venable of Concord, N.C.; his brother, Ronald Guidebeck of Big Bay, Mich.; his sister, Martha Collins of Cape Coral, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church building fund, 4160 Hands Mill Highway, York, SC 29745.
