Anna Brantley

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Anna Gloria Bevacqua Brantley, 64, of 3844 Highway 324 died Wednesday Nov. 4, 1998, at the home of her daughter.

The funeral was private.

Mrs. Brantley was employed as a deli clerk at Harris Teeter. She was of the Catholic faith and the widow of Bobby Theodore Brantley.

Surviving are her daughter, April Ann Brantley of Rock Hill; two brothers, Frankie Bevacqua and Micky Bevacqua of Highland Park, N.J.; and three sisters, Jennie Bevacqua, Jeanette Bevacqua and Mary Ann Jones, all of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Cauthen Funeral Home was in charge.

Billie Adams

LANCASTER - Mrs. Billie Jean Railey Adams, 65, of 1703 Hillside Ave. died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster Church of God, with the Rev. James Chappell officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Adams was retired from Duracell USA.

Surviving are her son, James T. "Tommy" Adams of Lancaster; her daughter, Sherry J. Adams of Lancaster; her brother, James Railey of Lancaster; five sisters, Mary Pittman of Camden, Tennie McAbee and Phyllis Fowler, both of Union, Doris Krawacki of O'Fallon, Ill., and Brenda Lawson of Clinton; five grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

R. Onley Gardner Sr.

KERSHAW - Mr. Richard Onley Gardner Sr., 86, of 9808 Flat Creek Road died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Flat Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Warren Jones officiating and the eulogy by the Rev. Robert Jeske. Interment with Masonic Rites will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Gardner was a retired inspector for the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a graduate of Wingate College, a member of Macedonia Masonic Lodge No. 239 and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was the widower of Viola Catoe Gardner.

Surviving are his son, Richard O. Gardner Jr. of Lancaster; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Sistare of Fort Mill and Mrs. Eugene Catoe Jr. of Layton, Utah; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 8603 Old Jefferson Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Leon Glenn

CLOVER - Mr. Leon Campbell Glenn, formerly of 1015 Highway 274, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

George James Jr.

TEGA CAY - Mr. George Phillip James Jr., 58, of 2152 Marquesas Ave. died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wolfe Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of Valdosta, Ga., Mr. James was retired from Southern Railway as division manager. He later worked for CSX-PTR Services in Atlanta. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

Surviving are his wife, Marlin "Mar" K. James; his son, Jerry W. James of Greenville; two daughters, Jamie R. James of Rock Hill and Rhonda L. Riddle of Greensboro, N.C.; his father, George P. James Sr. of Marietta, Ga.; his brother, Paul Donald James of Houston; and his sister, Phyllis J. Smith of Acworth, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 297830.

Clarence Lingerfeldt

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Clarence Hayes Lingerfeldt, 72, of 400 Lingerfeldt Drive died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Wayne Spears officiating.

A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Lingerfeldt was a retired truck driver.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Lingerfeldt; four sons, Johnny Lingerfeldt and Wayne Lingerfeldt, both of Gastonia, Rocky Lingerfeldt of Greenville and Phillip Lingerfeldt of York; two daughters, Valerie Goble of Newton, N.C., and Donna Summey of Gastonia; six brothers, Fred Lingerfeldt, Lewis Lingerfeldt, Norman Lingerfeldt, Ralph Lingerfeldt, Neal Lingerfeldt and Laurence Lingerfeldt, all of York; two sisters, Nancy Singletary of York and Joan Hope of Sharon; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Donna Summey, 504 Crowders Creek Road, Gastonia.

Greene Funeral Chapel in Gastonia is in charge.

Charlene Wright

CHESTER - Miss Charlene "Chan" Wright, 27, of 605 Coldstream Drive died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. George Sims officiating and the Revs. Keith Taylor, A.A. Bankhead and Robert Bailey assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester, Miss Wright was a bookkeeper at Bi-Lo No. 69 in Rock Hill. She was a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church, where she was a former usher and junior choir member. She was a 1989 graduate of Chester High School and attended York Technical College in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her daughter, LaMonica C. Wright of the home; her mother, Maggie J. Wright of Chester; her brother, Nicklus Wright of Chester; and her twin sister, Darlene Wright, and another sister, Wanda Wright, both of Chester.

The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Maggie J. Wright, 587 Center Road, Chester.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
