Raymond Watson

LANCASTER - Mr. Raymond Lee Watson, 61, of 1599 Converse Ave. died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Florence at a later date.

Mr. Watson was a salesman for Life Insurance Co. of Georgia. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Clarke Watson; his daughter, Maria Draughon of Lancaster; four brothers, Hershel Watson of Choctaw, Okla., Roger Watson and Jerry Watson, both of Hannah, Okla., and Allan Watson of Glennville, Ga.; his sister, Patricia Butner of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and his grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, c/o Gary Weathersbee, 2261 Douglas Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Margaret Bauknight

CHESTER - Mrs. Margaret Page Bauknight, 83, of 144 Walnut St. died Thursday, Sept., 24, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Bauknight was a retired Chester County teacher, having taught at Oakley Hall and Chester city schools for 39 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and organist. She was a graduate of Chester High School, and held a bachelor's degree from Coker College and a master's degree from Winthrop College. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Golden Age Club.

Surviving are her husband, James Vascoe Bauknight; her son, Vascoe Page "Butch" Bauknight of Little River; and two sisters, Sarah Page Holliday of Chester and Mary Page Killian of Edgemoor.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Kenneth Hallman

LANCASTER - Mr. Kenneth S. "Ken" Hallman, 61, of 2396 Zion Road died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity ARP Church, with the Rev. Guy Smith officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Hallman was retired from Springs Industries and a member of Unity ARP Church.

Surviving are his wife, Wilda Sturgis Hallman of Lancaster; his son, Vernon Kenneth Hallman; three brothers, Robert N. Hallman of Gastonia, N.C., Harry L. Hallman of Fort Mill, and Franklin D. Hallman of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Cora Hinson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Cora Blackmon Hinson, 93, of 2178 John Everall Road died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dale Roach and Smooth Baker officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hinson was a homemaker and the oldest member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hunter Hinson Sr.

Surviving are her son, Hunter Hinson Jr. of Detroit; her sister, Dellie Hinson of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1152 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Minnie Walker

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Minnie Bishop Walker, 77, of 2496 Indian Trail died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jamie Coley officiating. Burial will be at Bethesda Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was retired from Springs Industries in Fort Mill. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she was the pianist. She was the widow of J.C. Walker.

Surviving are three sons, Donald K. Walker of Catawba, Richard D. Walker of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michael A. Walker of Rock Hill; three daughters, Sue Phillips, Elaine McDaniel and Shirley Henson, all of Rock Hill; her brother, Palmer Ray Clinton of Bartlett, Tenn.; three sisters, Ruth Carter, Eva Gregory and Geneva Robinson, all of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Donald K. Walker, 4925 Highway 5, Catawba.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

John Betha

FORT LAWN - John Betha, 94, of 5584 Hillsdale Drive died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Denton Funeral Home in Chester.

Lucy Campbell

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lucy Mae Campbell, 104, of 1330 India Hook Road died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at Westminster Health Care.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, with the Rev. Al Boland officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Cairo, Ill., Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.

Surviving are three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to United Way, 825 Edgemont Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
