Howard Onley

ROCK HILL - Mr. Howard Onley, 75, of 1511 Penny Lane died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. David Inman officiating.

Mr. Onley was a native of Rock Hill. He was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He owned Howard Onley Septic Tank Service and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Brakefield Onley; his son, Howard L. "Sonny" Onley of Rock Hill; his daughter, Sherrell O. Carter of York; his stepdaughter, Pamela L. Honeycutt of Fort Mill; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his son, 1518 Spring Point Road.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

John Page

CHESTER - Mr. John Fred Page, 85, of 118 Pine St. died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Page was retired from the Department of Highways and Public Transportation as assistant administrator of the Chester district. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was deacon, chairman of the usher committee and secretary of the Sunday school. He served on the building and grounds committee and as chairman of building on faith finance committee.

Mr. Page was a graduate of Chester High School. He was a former commissioner of Chester Metropolitan District where he served as chairman of finance. He was active in the Palmetto Council Boy Scouts of America and has served as vice president and chairman of the advancement committee. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He was a former member of Chester Lions Club and a member of the Chester Civitans Club.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Taylor Page of Columbia; his daughter, Jane Page of Columbia; two brothers, James Earl Page and Davis Wilkes Page, both of Chester; and his sister, Helen Page Pope of Chester.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 518, Chester, SC 29706 or to Tri-County Dialysis, 102 Cestrian Square, Chester, SC 29706.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Eric Rhoads

East Hanover, Pa. - Mr. Eric William Rhoads, 34, of 300 Shady Lane died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at home.

A memorial Mass will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, Pa.

Mr. Rhoads was a graduate of the Academy of Medical Arts and Business in Harrisburg, Pa. He was an alumnus of the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia.

Surviving are his father Earl W. Rhoads of the home; and his mother, Sonja K. Mogle Rhoads of Clover.

Memorials may be made to Tri-County Association for the Blind, 1800 N. 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17102.

Deloris Stevens

CONCORD, N.C. - Mrs. Deloris Aldenia Green Stevens, 51, of Concord died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Northeast Medical Center in Concord.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home in Marmet, W.Va., with the Rev. Donald Lanham officiating. Burial will be at Massey Cemetery in Winifrede, W.Va.

Mrs. Stevens was an employee of Duff Norton Steel Co. She was a member of Concord Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are three sons, Michael Stevens and Clyde Stevens Jr., both of Rock Hill, and Clayton Stevens of Alpharetta, Ga.; her mother, Marie Green of Concord; two brothers, Carl Green of Chelyan W.Va., and Jimmy Green of Winifrede; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home in Marmet.

Helen Thacker

YORK - Mrs. Helen Azalee Renwrick Thacker, 74, of 294 Old Pinckney Road died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. today at Galilee Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.E. Garrison officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Thacker was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, where she was a member of the hymn choir. She was the widow of Henry Thacker.

Surviving are four sons, Ervin Renwrick of Newberry, James Henry Thacker and Etholia Thacker, both of York, and Sylvester Thacker of Clover; four daughters, Shirley Renwrick, Rayone Thacker and Daisy Thacker, all of the home, and Bernice Thacker of York; her grandson whom she reared, Ervin Renwrick of Norfolk, Va.; her sister, Fannie Hall of Newberry; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge.

William Bailey

GREAT FALLS - Mr. William Heath "Billy" Bailey, 34, of 18 Center St. died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, in Ben Hill County, Ga.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Evangel Temple, with the Rev. Michael E. Sollers officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A Chester County native, Mr. Bailey was a carpenter.

Surviving are two sons, William H. Bailey Jr. and Raymond Lewis Bailey, both of Lancaster; his father, Bobby G. Bailey of Lancaster; his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Robert Stevenson of Great Falls; and five brothers, Mike Bailey of Chester and Bobby Bailey, Henry K. Stevenson, Robert L. Stevenson, and James Stevenson, all of Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home for Funerals.

Memorials may be made to Evangel Temple, Highway 200, Great Falls, SC 29055.

Thomas Douglas

ROCK HILL - Mr. Thomas "Tom" Douglas, 85, of 237 Clinton Ave. died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.H. Bailey and the Revs. C.B. Wells, James H. Smith and Harold Jones officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Douglas was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church and a member of the AP&B Society. He attended public school in York County. Mr. Douglas was retired from the York school district.

Surviving are his wife, Eliza Weatherspoon Douglas; his son, James Douglas; five daughters, Sandra Douglas of the home, Rose Ann White of Rock Hill, Nancy Brock of Jamaica, N.Y., Mae Ruth Douglas Brown, of East Elmhurst, N.Y. and Elizabeth Walker, of Jamaica; and 11 grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
