Frank Anderson III

CLEMSON - Mr. Frank Clinkscales "Clinker" Anderson III, 38, of 128 Weatherstone Drive, formerly of Rock Hill, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998.

Burial was at Old Stone Church Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was an insurance professional and recently opened an agency with The Hartford. He was a former employee with People First Insurance in Rock Hill, and was a 1983 graduate of Clemson University. He was a member of the Clemson Rotary Club, Clemson Chamber of Commerce, IPTAY and the Walker Course.

Surviving are his wife, Denise Riley Anderson; his son, Earle Joseph Anderson II of the home; his daughter, Megan Denise Anderson of the home; his mother, Theresa Smith Anderson of Rock Hill; his brother, Richard C. Anderson of Kannapolis, N.C.; his sister, Leslie A. Carson of Monroe, N.C.; and his grandfather, Earle B. Smith of Pendleton.

Broadus Spencer

SMYRNA - Mr. Broadus Grady Spencer, 94, formerly of Smyrna, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hickory Grove Church of God, with the Rev. Roger Nix officiating and the Rev. John P. Smith assisting. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Spencer was a retired farmer. He was the widower of Ora Lee Hardin Spencer and was a member of Hickory Grove Church of God.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen S. Bazar of Charleston; his brother, Don Spencer of Smyrna; his sister, Ferry Spencer of Smyrna; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Mark Belt

FORT MILL - Mr. Mark Belt, 67, of 1426 Legion Road died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wolfe Funeral Home.

Gussie Cathcart

YORK - Ms. Gussie Cathcart, 64, of 25 Spruce St. died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at the home of her daughter.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home.

Katie Ellis

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Katie Gardner Ellis, 89, of 1236 Amelia Ave. died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, at Beverly Health Care.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Allen officiating and the Rev. Phil Lemmons assisting. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Ellis was retired from Randolph Yarns where she worked as a spinner for more than 30 years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Johnny C. Ellis of Rock Hill; her daughter, Betty Rainey of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and four-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Betty Rainey, 1480 Shadow Lane, Rock Hill.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

J.C. Griffin

CARLISLE - Mr. J.C. Griffin, 53, of 3073 Leeds Road died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

Danae Harper

SUMMERVILLE - Mr. Danae Douglas Harper, 31, of 1830 Royal Road, formerly of Lando, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at home.

Services and burial will be private.

Mr. Harper was a new construction painter. He attended Lewisville High School.

Surviving are his parents, Johnny and Diane Payne of Lando; two brothers, Gary Harper of Kaufman, Texas, and Frankie Payne of Lando; his paternal grandmothers, Betty Jo Smith of Prosperity and Dorothy Massey of Tradesville; and his maternal grandmother, Margaret Stroud of Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Hulda Jonas

YORK - Ms. Hulda Elizabeth Jonas, 76, of 220 E. Jefferson St. died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at York Funeral Home, with the Rev. Todd Speed officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of York, Ms. Jonas was a buyer for Ivey's Department Stores in Charlotte. She was a first lieutenant in the Army during World War II and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in York.

Surviving are her brother, Alfred Luther Jonas of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sisters, Mable J. Forte of York, Mamie J. Smith of Atlanta, and Mary Margaret Jonas of the home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Louise Jordan

LANCASTER - Ms. Louise "Wessie" McElduff Jordan, 78, formerly of Great Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Ms. Jordan was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. She was a charter member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her son, Charlie Jordan of Rock Hill; her daughter, Cindy Rape of Lancaster; her sister, Mabel Gardner of Great Falls; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her niece, Wendy Walker, 704 Marion Sims Drive, Lancaster.
