Sandy Williams

CLOVER - Mrs. Sandy Lee Williams, 29, of 109 Zion Church Road died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill after a prolonged illness.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Clover, with the Revs. W.T. Massey, Patricia Starr and Charles White officiating.

Surviving are her parents, Sammy and Mattie Williams of the home; two sons, Adrian and Rodregious Williams, both of the home; two daughters, Dyisheekia and Sierra Williams, both of the home; three brothers, Sammy Williams and Johnny Bratton of Gastonia, N.C., and Fred Bratton of Clover; four sisters, Shirley Williams of the home, Dorothy Williams of Clover, Nicole Carpenter of Blacksburg and Mattie Phillips of Gastonia; and her grandmother, Mary Williams of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 7:30 tonight at Generation Funeral Home.

Cleo Funderburk

LANCASTER - Mrs. Cleo McManus Funderburk, 78, of 6021 Pageland Highway died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Greg Towler officiating.

Mrs. Funderburk was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Shelby Roddey and Veronica Love, both of Lancaster; two brothers, Don McManus of Monroe, N.C., and Byron McManus of Lancaster; five sisters, Florence Blackmon of Heath Springs, Christine Burgess of Monroe, N.C., and Maudie Belk, Mary Roberts and Jackie Rape, all of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and her friend, Bargen Carnes of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Laura Morris

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Laura Anne Misenheimer Morris, 47, of 5264 Woodside Drive died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at home.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Dr. Shelton Sanford and Dr. Bill Fox officiating.

Mrs. Morris was a preschool teacher for eight years at Westminster Catawba Christian School. A native of Salisbury, N.C., Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, John P. Morris; two sons, Andrew "Drew" Todd Robinson and William Alan Robinson, both of Rock Hill; her daughter, Laura Kathryn Robinson of Rock Hill; her mother, Jesse Bernice Misenheimer of Salisbury, N.C.; and her brother, Franklin Eugene Misenheimer of Knoxville, Tenn.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Catawba Christian School, 1300 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

William Stuart

CHESTER - Mr. William I. Stuart, 68, of 514 Ballpark Drive died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Greg Keller officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Stuart was a retired executive supervisor with Springs Industries in Fort Mill.

Surviving are his wife, Doris H. Stuart; two sons, Chuck Stuart of Chester and Mark Stuart of Anderson; his daughter, Beverly S. Love of Chester; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home for Funerals.

Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Pinckney Street, Chester, SC 29706.

C.T.S. Wilburn Jr.

UNION - Mr. C.T.S. "Bill" Wilburn Jr. 87, of 196 Boatman Springs Road died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, after a brief illness.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church, with the Revs. Joe Wilson Smith and Jim Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Wilburn was a Union native. He was the widower of Elmira Newton Wilburn. He was a member of the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and formerly was chairman of the deacons and Sunday school superintendent for 39 years.

He graduated from Clemson University. He was the former principal of Cross Keys School, an agricultural teacher and principal and superintendent of education at Oakway High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was discharged as a major.

Mr. Wilborn was a Paul Harris Fellow and was a former vice president and treasurer for the Union County Chamber of Commerce, a former state board member for the Small Business Administration, former president of the Union County Livestock Association and former treasurer of the Union Commission of Higher Education. He was former chairman of the advisory board for the First National Bank of Union. He retired in 1987 as wood dealer and buyer for Champion Paper Co., after 30 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Sarah W. Inabinet of Union; his brother, J. Meador Wilburn of Union; three sisters, Juanita Wilburn and Ruth Windell, both of Rock Hill, and Mattie Belle Kinard of Simpsonville; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home of his daughter, Sarah Inabinet, 3261 Cross Keys Highway in Union.

The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael Ghent

LANCASTER - Mr. Michael Dale Ghent, 50, of 2073 John Everall Road, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at the Dorn Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Dickson and Chaplain Ernest Stroud officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Ghent was a truck driver for Blue Max Trucking in Charlotte. He was the 2nd Vice Commander of American Legion Post 31, a trustee and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 5936 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah Puckett Ghent; his son, Stephen Ghent of Florida; four daughters, Tracy Ghent and Tonya Ghent, both of Lancaster, Crystal Ghent and Wendy Ghent, both of Florida; three brothers, Charles Ghent, Butch Ghent and Mark Ghent, all of Lancaster; two sisters, Vicki Faulkenberry and Dianne Dickson, both of Lancaster; five grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Ann Glenn of Catawba and Desiree Moore of Rock Hill; and his stepson, Glenn Blackwell of Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to Home Care Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
