Rick Masters I
YORK - Mr. Rick G. Master I of York died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. today at York Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Edwards officiating.
Mr. Master was a barber and hair stylist. He was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are two sons, Rick Masters II of Lake Wylie and Donnie Masters of Gastonia, N.C.; three daughters, Kim Cable of Dallas, N.C., Heather Masters of York and Monica Masters of Bessemer City, N.C.; his mother, Marian Masters of York; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at York Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Grace Wesleyan Church, South New Hope Road, Belmont, NC 28012 or to the Liver Transplant Center, P.O. Box 60660, Charlotte, NC 28260.

Fonda McDaniel
WILFRED, Ind. - Mrs. Fonda P. McDaniel, 80, of Wilfred died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at Mary Sheman Hospital.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church in Hymera, Ind., with the Rev. Sharon Summers officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. McDaniel was a retired teacher's aide. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Hymera Chapter No. 289 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Melvin McDaniel; two sons, Phillip McDaniel of Rock Hill and Terry McDaniel of Disptanta, Va.; her daughter, Nancy May of Manistee, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. today at the church.
Mattox-McHugh Funeral Home is in charge.

Mickey Cagle
CONOVER, N.C. - Mr. Mickey Jay Cagle, 58, of 6th Street Circle N.E. died Sunday, July 6, 1998, at home.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Catawba Memorial Park, with the Rev. Homer Greene officiating.
Mr. Cagle was a plant manager for 20 years at Shuford Mills.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie R. Cagle; two sons, Mitchell Cagle of Statesville, N.C., and Danny Cagle of Clarksville, Va.; his daughter, Kimerly Boulware of Greensboro, N.C.; his mother, Margaret Burris Cagle of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Catawba Funeral Home.

Jackie Crenshaw
LANCASTER - Mr. Jackie Leroy "Goat" Crenshaw, 61, of 3044-F Northwest Apartments died Monday, July 6, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery.
Mr. Crenshaw was a retired businessman and served in the Navy. He was a native of Lancaster County.
Surviving are his former wife, Wanda Crenshaw Craft of Rock Hill; two daughters, Melissa Smith of York and Jacqualine Nichols of Rock Hill; his stepson, Frankie McManus of Fort Mill; two stepdaughters, Debra Knopf of Rock Hill and Carol McManus of Fort Lawn; two brothers, Brown Crenshaw of Lancaster and Elliott Crenshaw of Charlotte; two sisters, Mildred Taylor of Lancaster and Elizabeth Chappel of Kershaw; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hartley Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Lynn Fenton
GLENDALE, Calif. - Ms. Lynn Margaret Fenton, 32, of Glendale, formerly of York, died Sunday, July, 5, 1998 in Sylmar, Calif.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York.
Ms. Fenton was a graduate of York Comprehensive High School and attended Winthrop College.
Surviving are her mother, Gara F. Brown and stepfather, Don Brown of York; and her sister, Anne F. Burkart of Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to the Columbarium Fund, Church of the Good Shepherd, P.O. Box 437, York, SC 29745 or to the charity of one's choice.

Joyce Garrett
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Joyce Ritter Garrett, 71, of 710 S. York Ave. died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at home.
Burial was at Grandview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Garrett was the widow of Eddie L. Garrett Sr. and was a graduate of Princeton High School in Princeton, W.Va. She earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1948 from Concord College in Athens, W.Va., where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She worked at Celanese after graduation. She taught general math and algebra from 1964 to 1989 at Rock Hill High School. In 1970, she earned her master's degree in teaching.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Starlite Chapter. She a member of Woodland United Methodist Church, where she was a teacher in the Fidelis Sunday school class, and on the administrative board and altar guild.
Surviving are her son, Eddie L. Garrett Jr. of Fort Mill; her daughter, Nancy Garrett McFall of Rock Hill; three brothers, Blair Ritter of Spartanburg, the Rev. Guy A. Ritter Jr. of Salem, Va., and the Rev. Philip M. Ritter of Clarksville, Tenn.; her sister, Nancy Ritter White of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Woodland United Methodist Church, 801 Cherry Road, Rock Hill, or to the American Cancer Society, 339 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
Bass Funeral Home is in charge.

Frances Huffstetler
YORK - Mrs. Frances Cook Huffstetler, 70, of 500 Railroad Ave., Apt. 22, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Daniel Stewart officiating.
A homemaker, Mrs. Huffstetler was the widow of Jesse Bruce Huffstetler. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her sister, Lenor S. Cable of Robinsville, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at York Funeral Home and at other times at the home of a niece, Glenda Deese, 323 E. Liberty St., York.

Ralph Huffstetler Jr.
DENVER, Colo. - Sgt. Ralph "Butch" Coleman Huffstetler Jr., 35, formerly of Gastonia, N.C., died Sunday, July 5, 1998, in Denver.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, with the Rev. Lewis Gunn officiating. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mr. Huffstetler was a graduate of Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany. He had served 14 years in the Air Force and was a member of the 2nd Space Warning Squadron stationed at Buckley Air Force Base, Colo.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela L. Huffstetler; his stepson, Geno Searfoss of Yorktown, Va.; his parents, Ralph and Delphine Huffstetler Sr. of Clover; his sister, Donna H. Connor of Gastonia; his paternal grandparents, Marshall and Mattie Bell Huffstetler of Clover; his maternal grandparents, J.C. and Mae Connor of Gastonia; and his maternal great-grandmother, Thelma Connor of Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McLean & Son Funeral Home in Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York County Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Willie Phillips
LAKE WYLIE - Mr. Willie C. Phillips, 61, of 5265 Fewell Road died Monday, July 6, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowling Green, with the Rev. Milton Key officiating and the Revs. Charles White and Lillian Washington assisting.
A native of York County, Mr. Phillips was a member of Mount Harmony United Methodist Church in Bowling Green and was a former heavy equipment operator for the Belmont, N.C., water department. He retired in May.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie R. Phillips; his son, Willie Phillips Jr. of Washington; his daughter, Angela G. Phillips of Gastonia, N.C.; five sisters, Ethel Adams of Clover, Mary Sherer and Billie Phillips, both of Lake Wylie, and Hattie Mason and Lizzie Carothers, both of Gastonia; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Golden Thomas
FORT MILL - Mr. Golden "Goldie" Thomas, 81, of 109 Walker St. died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Dry officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church. During World War II, Mr. Thomas served in the Army.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred C. Thomas; two sons, Roger Brent Thomas of Greenwood and D. Arnold Thomas of Fort Mill; his daughter, Diane Holt of Fort Mill; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, 119 Massey St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.
