Winston Mobley

YORK - Mr. Winston Churchill Mobley, 57, of 183 Hall St. died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Lester Parrish officiating.

A native of York County, Mr. Mobley was a farmer.

Surviving are four sisters, Mary Bardley and Ruby Wilson, both of Gastonia, N.C., Betty Robinson and Lena Champion, both of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Derone Sanders

CHESTER - Mr. Derone "Grump" Sanders, 84, of 553 Flint St., Apartment N4, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Tanglewood Health Care Center in Ridgewood.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. James W. Hope officiating. The Rev. McKinley Woods will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Sanders was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He attended Chester County public schools. He was a retired construction worker.

Surviving are his wife, Jessie Lee Sanders; four sons, John M. Sanders, Jimmy Sanders and Wayne Sanders, all of Chester, and David Sanders of Largo, Fla.; three daughters, Naomi Davis of Hyattville, Md., Lillian Wilkes of Chester, Barbara Reed of Greenville; a grandson, whom he raised, Maurice Sanders of Philadelphia; 31 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at King's Funeral Home.

Kenneth Criminger

KERSHAW - Mr. Kenneth Michael "Mike" Criminger, 42, of 302 W. Welsh Street, died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A reporter for the Kershaw News Era, Mr. Criminger was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Carl Phillips Sunday school class.

Surviving is his mother, Audrey Williams Criminger of Kershaw.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Ellen Davis-Williams

TRENTON, N.J. - Mrs. Ellen Ruby L. Davis-Williams, 67, of Trenton, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Capital Health Systems.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, with the Rev. Florian Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Colonial Memorial Park in Hamilton Township.

A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., she attended the Nash County schools. She was a member of of Pleasure Hill Baptist Church. She was a former member of Galilee Baptist Church and in 1979 joined the Deliverance Evangelistic Center Inc., where she served on the Mother's Board and Missionary Board. She was employed by Vineland State Colony and the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, now the North Princeton Developmental Center, until her retirement in 1992, with 39 years service with the state.

Surviving are her husband, Lengburg Williams; her son, Thomas Edward Davis of Trenton; her daughters, Catherine Thomas of Stockton, Md.; her stepdaughter, Denise Harris of Alexander, Va.; four brothers, Timmy L. Young, the Rev. Tony A. Davis and Eddie Lee Stubbs, all of Bridgeton, N.J., and the Rev. Gust D. Davis Jr. of Trenton, N.J.; three sisters, Shirlene Davis of Rock Hill, Marlene Davis of Millville, N.J., and Victoria Davis of Guam; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., in Trenton is in charge.

Tiffany Faile

ROCK HILL - Tiffany Katelyn Faile, the 18-month-old daughter of Steve Rodney Bryant Jr. and Kimberly Dawn Faile of 951 Steele St., died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Kirby officiating. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Christopher Faile of the home; her grandparents, Rick and Margarett Faile of Rock Hill and Junior and Henerita Catoe of Rock Hill; her grandmothers, Jeannie Nichols and Peggy Eastwood, both of Rock Hill; her great-grandparents, Sumter and Emmie Brown of Rock Hill and Bruce and Ethel Faile of Rock Hill; and her great-grandmother, Virginia Allen of McCall.

The family will receive friends at the home of Bruce and Ethel Faile, 325 Lyle St.

Charles Fallaw

UNION - Mr. Charles Randolph "Randy" Fallaw, 72, of 266 Meansville Road died Friday, July 10, 1998, at home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Patty Griffith-Fallaw officiating.

Mr. Fallaw was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a Mason and former member of Rutledge Masonic Lodge 351. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a retired salesman for Union Packing Co.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Whitehead Fallaw; two sons, Billy Fallaw of Rock Hill and John Fallaw of Union; his daughter, Mary F. Bailey of Union; two brothers, Earl D. Fallaw of Franklin, Tenn., and Weldon Fallaw of West Columbia; three sisters, Mamie F. May, Virginia F. Ivey and Pearl F. Crocker, all of Union; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church Foundation for the Future Fund, 105 Lawson Ave., Union, SC 29379.

Elsie Holland

LANCASTER - Mrs. Elsie Blackmon Holland, 90, of 316 W. Arch St. died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shane Patrick and Roy Barnes officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, she was a graduate of the Lancaster school system and the Eastman School of Business in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She began working in 1931 for the Lancaster law firm Williams & Stewart. She also worked for Holland Funeral Home and Blackmon Electric Co., where she retired in 1994. She served as a volunteer and sitter at the Marion Sims/Springs Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church since the 1920s and was the last surviving charter member of the Lancaster Chapter No. 146 Order of the Eastern Star, having served twice as statewide Worthy Grand Matron. She received her 50-year pin in 1989.

Surviving are her son, Joseph Ferris Holland of the home; her stepson, Charles Duke Holland of Warner Robbins, Ga.; her stepdaughter, Carolyn H. Ellison of Lancaster; four grandsons; and a great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721.

James Irby

ROCK HILL - Mr. James Irby, 44, of 309 Maple St. died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. John McCoy officiating and the Rev. Sidney Murdock assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Irby was a native of York County. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and attended Northwestern High School.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy A. Irby; his daughter, Tameria Adams of Fort Mill; his stepson, Daniel Adams of Rock Hill; his stepdaughter, Tiffany Adams of Rock Hill; his mother, Mattie Jones Irby of Rock Hill; four brothers, Emmett Jerome Irby of Washington, Henry L. Irby, Norman Hutchinson and John Irby, all of Rock Hill; and his sister, Emma I. Jones of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
