Rebecca Goings

JONESVILLE - Mrs. Rebecca A. "Becky" Goings, 43, of 151 Pea Ridge Highway died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Porter-Gallman Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Hyder officiating.

Mrs. Goings was a native of Union. She was formerly employed with Ben Dawsey Audiologist of Spartanburg. She was a 1973 graduate of Jonesville High School and was a member of Fosters Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Robin L. Goings; her daughter, Kristen D. Crosby of Tallahassee, Fla.; her parents, Wilbur and Pearline Bailey Adams of Jonesville; and two sisters, Linda K. Montgomery of York and Anita H. Grizzle of Jonesville.

The family will receive friends from from 7 to 9 tonight at Holcombe Funeral Home Jonesville Chapel and at other times at home.

Dora McMichael

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Dora Mae Delp McMichael, 66, of 843 Sentinal Oaks Drive died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Greenleaf Memorial Cemetery in New Bern, N.C., with the Rev. Michael Register officiating.

Mrs. McMichael was retired from the Department of Social Security and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Meadowview, Va.

Surviving are her husband, William J. McMichael; two brothers, William C. Delp of Meadowview and Johnny F. Delp of Abingdon, Va.; and her sister, Martha D. Caraway of New Bern, N.C.

William Carnes

HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. William Douglas Carnes, 37, of 4705 Kickturn Road died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at Vencor Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Camp Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Carnes was a former employee of Springs Industries.

Surviving are his wife, Rhonda Hopkins Carnes; his son, William Ray Carnes of the home; his mother, Sandra Kay Starnes Neill of Molton, Ala.; his brother, Thomas Michael Carnes of Rock Hill; and two sisters, Wanda Kay Steele and Pamela Sue Carnes, both of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Martha Guise, 3510 Hoke Road, Lancaster.

Viola Wagner

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Viola Hoyles Wagner, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Gastonia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Mrs. Wagner was the widow of James Wagner. She attended York County public schools.

Survivors include nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Robert Merritt

FORT MILL - Mr. Robert Clarence Merritt, 71, of 8637 Possum Hollow Road died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Indian Land Baptist Church, with the Rev. Benny Green officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Merritt was a Fort Mill native.

Surviving are his wife, Lila Jennings Merritt; his daughter, Debbie Dial of Fort Mill; his mother, Mae Bell McKinney Merritt of Fort Mill; his brother, Edgar Merritt of Fort Mill; two sisters, Lucille Newell and Bessie Trull, both of Fort Mill; and his grandchild.

Alice Duncan

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Alice Humphries Duncan of 6 Oakwood Lane died Friday, July 31, 1998.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at River Hills Community Church, with the Rev. David Oliver officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald Duncan; her son, Douglas E. Duncan; her daughter, Linda D. Flower; six brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Lucille English

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mrs. Lucille McClurkin English, 81 of 200 33rd St. NE, died Monday, July 27, 1998 at George Washington University Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Deanwood, with the Rev. William Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. English was a former member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill. She retired from the Bureau of Engraving in 1973.

Surviving are two brothers, E. David McClurkin of Rock Hill and Willie McClurkin of Washington, D.C.
