Grace Harms

LANCASTER - Mrs. Grace Elora Powell Harms, 82, of 1160 Merribrook Lane died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. George Episcopal Church in Savannah, Ga., with the Rev. Gerald Clark officiating. Burial will be at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.

Mrs. Harms, a native of Savannah, was retired from Atlanta Light & Gas as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Hampton, Va., and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in the altar guild at the church and was a former member of St. George Episcopal Church.

Surviving are two sons, Richard G. Harms of Lancaster and Fredrick G. Harms Jr. of Hampton, Va.; two daughters, Priscilla Cowart of Savannah and Cynthia Brooks of Shelby, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the First ARP Church, 701 N. Main St., Lancaster, SC 27220 or Gideons, P.O. Box 1302, Lancaster, SC 29721.

Fox and Weeks Funeral Home in Savannah is in charge.

Mahaffey Funeral Home in Lancaster is in charge of local arrangements.

Jimmie Joyner

LANCASTER - Mr. Jimmie Charles Joyner, 64, of 1006 Double Oak Road died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronald D. Gregory officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Joyner was a retired salesman. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, Hart Masonic Lodge No. 380, American Legion Stafford Graham Post and the Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy McNaughton Joyner; his sister Margaret Edwards of Lancaster; his grandchild; and his great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church bus fund, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Eli Lyles Sr.

BALTIMORE - Mr. Eli "Buster" Lyles Sr., 82, of East Baltimore, formerly of Fairfield County, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Church Hospital in Baltimore.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

Marie McCraney

COLUMBIA - Mrs. Marie Vaughan McCraney, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Earlewood Baptist Church. Burial will be at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. McCraney was the widow of Murdock L. McCraney. She was a member of the Earlewood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday school class. She also was a member of the Half Century Club, Wha' Cha' Doin' Club at Earlewood Park and the ECCO Club.

Surviving are her daughter, Lois McCraney Danford of Chapin; her brother, Wylie L. Vaughan of Camden; her sister, Edith Melton of Camden; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice or Palmetto Baptist Foundation, 1301 Sumter St., Columbia, SC 29201 or Earlewood Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Willie McCullough

CHESTER - Mr. Willie Watson McCullough, 80, of 120 Rice St. died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasantview AME Zion Church, with the Rev. George Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. McCullough was a son of the late Willie McCullough and Daisy Rasdale McCullough. He was retired from Daulphia Bank and Trust and Cumberland Army Depot, both of Harrisburg, Pa. He was a member of Pleasantview AME Zion Church. He attended Chester County schools.

Surviving are his wife, Alberta Brice McCullough; his son, Willie J. McCullough of Garfield, N.J.; a grandson, whom he reared, Curtis McCullough of Charlotte; two daughters, Willean M. Bogar of Newark, N.J., and Elizabeth Graham of Chester; his brother, Robert N. McCullough of Aiken; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Denton Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Gertrude Montgomery

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Gertrude Montgomery of Lake Wylie died Monday Aug. 3, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Kay Collier of Lake Wylie.

The funeral, with Order of the Eastern Star Rites, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the home of Sallye McLean in Nashville, Mich. A cryptside service will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, Mich., with the Rev. James Hynes officiating.

Mrs. Montgomery was the widow of Gerald Rawlings Montgomery. She taught English, foreign languages and counseled in Nashville, Mich., schools until she retired in 1965. She was past Matron of the Eastern Star, founder of the Nashville National Honor Society, secretary of the Nashville Board of Education, president of the Nashville Women's Club, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority and a former member of Nashville Methodist Church. She was on the board of directors of the Maple Valley Memorial Scholarship Club.

She was a member of River Hills Community Church.

Surviving are her son, Gene Montgomery of Montgomery, Texas; her daughter, Kay Collier of Lake Wylie; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the home of Sallye McLean, 434 E. Main St., Nashville, Mich.

Memorials may be made to Maple Valley Memorial Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 715, Nashville, MI 49073 or the River Hills Emergency Squad, 4 Heritage Drive, Lake Wylie, SC 29710 or Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Alberta Harvell Privette, 78, of 1742 Mount Gallant Road died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.
