Quincy Boyce

CHARLOTTE - Quincy J. Boyce, a 1-month-old infant, of 602 Eldywood Lane, Apt. 5, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Charleston Cherry

RICHBURG - Mr. Charleston "Dude" Cherry, 67, of 4019 Wylie Mill Road died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Vernon AME Zion Church, with the Rev. J.E. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Arthur Randolph assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Cherry was a Chester County native, attended public schools in Chester County and was a member of Mount Vernon AME Zion Church. He retired from Carolina Rebar Steel Co. and was the widower of Bertha Irene Robinson Cherry.

Surviving are six sons, Robert Robinson and Michael Cherry, both of Rock Hill, Jimmy Cherry of Norfolk, Va., Kenneth Cherry of Fort Lawn, Derrick Cherry of Germany and Stephen Robinson of Greensboro, N.C.; two daughters, Viola Robinson of Fort Lawn and Patricia Lewis of Charlotte; his parents, Robert and Emma C. Barber of Richburg; his brother, J.C. Cherry of Edgemoor; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed from 2 to 9 tonight at King's Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Annie Hinton

CHESTER - Mrs. Annie R. Clowney Hinton, 85, of 1577 Hinton Road died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

Donald Kahler Jr.

GREENVILLE - Mr. Donald Stephen Kahler Jr., 51, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 7 tonight at Mackey Mortuary on Century Drive. A graveside service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Kershaw City Cemetery in Kershaw.

Mr. Kahler was a training unit manager with Waffle House Inc. He was a former teacher and coach in Orangeburg, Chesterfield, Kershaw and Greenville counties. He ended his 21-year teaching career at Riverside High School, where he was awarded the WYFF Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award in 1992 and the Riverside High Teacher of the Year in 1992-93.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Richard Kahler; three sons, Donald S. Kahler III of Spartanburg, Eric T. Kahler of Camden and William A. Kahler of New York; his daughter, Karen E. Kahler; his mother, Mary C. Kahler of Kershaw; his brother, Guy Kahler of Camden; three sisters, Martha Clyburn of Kershaw, Cindy Smith of Elgin and Kay Scott of Aiken; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home in Kershaw.

Wanda McKinney

CHESTER - Mrs. Wanda O. McKinney, 85, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lando Cemetery, with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating.

Mrs. McKinney was a native of Philadelphia. She was retired from Philco Appliance Manufacturing Co.

Surviving is her husband, James P. McKinney.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister-in-law, Pauline Thomas, 161 Center Road, Chester.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Willie Mingo

LANCASTER - Mr. Willie Junior Mingo, 64, of 420 Heath Circle died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Crawford Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Mingo was retired from the Lancaster city maintenance department. He was the widower of Maggie Tinsley Mingo.

Surviving are two sons, William Mingo and Sammie Jorden Jr., both of Lancaster; and three brothers, James Mingo of Amityville, N.Y., Luther Mingo of Granite Falls, N.Y., and R.J. Mingo of Lancaster.

Magdalene Moore

CHESTER - Mrs. Magdalene Killian Moore, 75, of 126 Memorial Drive died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Second Wilson Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.M. Bryson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was a Chester native and attended public schools in Chester County. She was a deaconess, choir member and a member of the CBNA Society No. 8. She was a homemaker and was the widow of Rufus M. Moore Sr.

Surviving are four sons, Zachariah Moore of Richburg and Theodore Moore of Chester and Harvey Moore and Ronnie Moore, both of Maryland; four daughters, Betty Brockman, Patricia Moore, Annie Penn and Odessa Marshall, all of Chester; her brother, George Killian of Washington; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Odessa Marshall, 842 Meadowbrook Road. The body will be taken to the church at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

King's Funeral Home is in charge.

Thomas Neville Sr.

CATAWBA - Mr. Thomas "Tom" Joseph Neville Sr., 81, 2040 Greystone Circle died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, with Father William Pentis officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Neville was a native of Kenilworth, N.J., and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He was a retired police chief in Kenilworth, a Navy veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of the Retired Police Chiefs Association in New Jersey, Police Benevolent Association, Police Athletic League and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Helen M. Neville; his son, Gary Patrick Neville of Aberdeen, N.J.; three daughters, Helen M. Dills and Colleen N. Brannon, both of Catawba, and Marianne N. Cammarata of Aberdeen; two brothers, Gilbert Neville of Knowlton, N.J., and John Neville of Kenilworth; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The vigil will be 6:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, South Carolina Affiliate, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, SC 29260.

Mamie Orr

CHARLOTTE - Ms. Mamie Orr, 83, of 301 W. 8th St. died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Integrated Health Services.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Willie Pearson

ROCK HILL - Mr. Willie A. Pearson, 51, of 417 Baker St. Extension died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Victor C. Wilson officiating and the Revs. Ira Roddey, Ronal King and Hattie Foster assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Pearson was a native of York County and attended York County public schools. He joined the New Life Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Clara P. Pettus of Fort Mill and Estelle P. Robinson of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Estelle Robinson, 900 Ogden Road, Rock Hill.
