Beatrice Douglas

CHESTER - Mrs. Beatrice Smith Douglas, 92, of 304 Third St. died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Bishop officiating and the Rev. Reggie Parker assisting. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Douglas was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was the widow of Sam M. Douglas.

Surviving are her son, Bobby Douglas of Chester; her daughter, Billie Pigford of Chester; her brother, Horace Smith of Chester; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home for Funerals.

Llewellyln Gibson

KERSHAW - Mr. Llewellyn Ansel Gibson, 87, of 1221 Horton Rollins Road died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel in Falston, N.C. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Gibson was a retired teacher and principal. He taught at Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, Fla., and was principal at Williston Elementary School and Hanahan Elementary School. He was education director at Spartanburg Technical College. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Hoyle Gibson; his brother, Jack H. Gibson of Bluffton; and two sisters, Alice Blue Jackson of Spartanburg and Gladys Navy of Marietta, Ga.

Mozell Miller

WASHINGTON - Mrs. Mozell Pratt Miller of Washington, formerly of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Md.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Rising Baptist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Ernest R. Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.

Surviving is her sister, Mary Boulware of Rock Hill.

Marshall Funeral Home, 4219 9th St. NW, Washington, DC 29001, is in charge.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Nancy Neely

CLOVER - Mrs. Nancy McConnell Neely, 81, of 520 Kings Mountain St. died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Flat Rock Baptist Church, with the Revs. Thomas Clifton, W.T. Massey and Lee T. Cline officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens at Filbert.

A native of Clover, Mrs. Neely was employed as a domestic worker. She was the widow of Burley Neely and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Fred N. Campbell Sr.; her sister, Martha Patterson of Clover; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7 tonight at Generation Funeral Home and at other times at 201 Mobley St., Clover.

Richard Pope

ROCK HILL - Mr. Richard E. Pope, 66, of 938 Dunlap Roddey Road died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating and the Rev. Jerry Devinney assisting. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of York County, Mr. Pope was retired from Hoechst-Celanese Corp. where he was a loom technician. He was a member of the Rock Hill Masonic Lodge No. 111 AFM and of the York County Crescent Shrine Club. He also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma H. Pope; three daughters, Vicky Olney and Susan Neal, both of Rock Hill, and Pam Sheheen of Lugoff; his brother, Donald Pope of Chester; his sister, Mary Faulkner of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church building fund, 830 North Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Frances Wisher

SHELBY, N.C. - Mrs. Frances Dickson Wisher, 62, 1304-A South Post Road died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at home.

A graveside service will be noon today at Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg, with the Rev. Broadus Heatherly officiating.

A native of York County, she was a data processor with Timken for 23 years. She was a member and former pianist of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church in Blacksburg.

She was the widow of Neb Wisher.

Surviving are her son, Richard Wisher of Stonewall, La.; two daughters, Dianne Harrison of Shelby, N.C., and Celisa Short of Fallston, N.C.; three brothers, Herbert Dickson of Rock Hill and Temp Dickson and George Dickson, both of York; five sisters, Miriam Culp and Jeanie Marett, both of Rock Hill, and Ruth Thomas, Beth Miller and Rebecca Pressley, all of York; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 339 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

White Columns Funeral Service in Blacksburg is in charge.

Lillie Aldridge

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lillie Bell Freeman Aldridge, 68, of 2533 Aldridge Lane died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary McInvaille and the Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Aldridge was a retired seamstress and enjoyed sewing as well as other crafts. She attended Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She was a widow of James Paul Aldridge.

Surviving are her two sons, Jimmy Lee Aldridge of Swansea and Calvin "Buddy" Aldridge of Lancaster; her brother, Harry Eugene Freeman of Fort Myers, Fla.; her sister, Clara Mae Johnson of Lancaster; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2553 Aldridge Lane.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.
