Judy Gatti

FORT MILL - Mrs. Judy Milam Gatti, 43, of 911 Majestic Circle died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, with Father John Giuliani officiating.

Mrs. Gatti was a Texas native. She worked for Nawkaw Corp. of Athens, Ga. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Gatti of Fort Mill; her son, Tim Milam of Charlotte; two daughters, Danielle Toussaint of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Nicole Craig of Fort Mill; and her parents, Bill and Joyce Milam of Columbia.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 261-B Riverchase Way, Lexington, SC 29702.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Anne Hansen

FORT MILL - Mrs. Anne Raurek Hansen, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 6 p.m. today at Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Kemp officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills, N.Y.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Hansen was a retired accountant and had moved to Fort Mill 12 years ago. She attended the Fort Mill Church of God and was the widow of Mark Hansen.

Surviving are two sons, Ken Hansen of Carmel, Ind., and Mark Hansen of West Islip, N.Y.; her daughter, Carole Ann Hansen of Fort Mill; two sisters, Mary Klein and Olga Bolles, both of Fort Mill; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons, P.O. Box 314, Fort Mill, SC 29716.

Claude Hutchison

ROCK HILL - Mr. Claude N. Hutchison, 83, of 3315 Hudspeth Lane died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at India Hook United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ben Barnette officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer ARP Church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Hutchison retired from J.P. Stevens Co. after 45 years and was a member of India Hook United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Claudia H. Sloan of Rock Hill, Irene H. Fudge of Richburg and Grace Fudge of Lancaster; his brother, Everett Hutchison of Rock Hill; his sister, Mable Jordan of Fort Lawn; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Sam McManus

LANCASTER - Mr. Sam Morris McManus, 55, of 1537 Carmel Road died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at White Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Bailey and the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. McManus was retired from the engineering department of Springs Industries and was a member of White Springs Baptist Church, the Hart Masonic Lodge No. 380, the Hejaz Shrine Temple and the Jackson Shrine Club. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of the Stafford Graham American Legion Post No. 31.

Surviving are his daughter, Mitzi Gardiner of Annapolis, Md.; his mother, Polly Stacks McManus of Lancaster; three brothers, H.T. "Shine" McManus Jr., Joe McManus and James McManus, all of Lancaster; his sister, Doris Hudson of Lancaster; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home of Lancaster.

Memorial contributions may be made to the White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Ave., Lancaster SC 29720 or to HOSPICE, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Saylor Peterson

BALTIMORE - Mr. Saylor Jerry "Buddy Boy" Peterson of Baltimore, formerly of Chester, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, in Baltimore.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

Nancy Pierce

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nancy Lee Cravens Pierce, 85, of 1520 Yorkston Drive died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ, with Dr. David Pharr officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Sparta, Tenn., Mrs. Pierce was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, J.B. Pierce; her son, Jim Pierce of Rock Hill; three sisters, Birdie Mae Maxwell of Arrington, Tenn., Model Shivers of Aurora, Colo., and Verta Perry of Lakewood, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ, 339 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home of Rock Hill and at other times at the home, 1520 Yorkston Drive.

Lucian Proctor

NORTH CHARLESTON - Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Lucian Wallace Proctor, 80, of 5150 Monterey St., North Charleston, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Roper Hospital North.

A graveside service with full military honors will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, with the Rev. Mark Chapman officiating.

Mr. Proctor attended Chester schools and graduated from Newberry schools. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a B-17 mechanic in Alconbury, England, for the 8th Air Force Base, 812th Bomb Squadron and 482nd Bomb Group (Pathfinders). During the Korean Conflict, he served as a B-29 flight engineer assigned to Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. He retired from the Air Force in July 1965 with 23 years of service. He retired as a marine machinery mechanic in 1982 from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Hewitt Proctor; and nieces and nephews.

J. Henry Stuhr Inc. North Area Chapel is in charge.

Robert Thomas

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert William Thomas, 82, of 261 S. Herlong Ave., Beverly Health Care, died Monday Oct. 19, 1998, at the care center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church cemetery in York, with the Revs. Dr. Jerry Sosebee and Kent Spann officiating.

Mr. Thomas was a York County native. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was of the Protestant faith and a retiree from the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing plant, where he worked for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and CB radios club. He was the widower of Esther Martin Thomas.

Surviving are his son, William "Bill" Thomas of Rock Hill; five brothers, Howard Thomas and Marshall Thomas, both of York, Miller Thomas and Leroy Thomas, both of Rock Hill, and Raymond Thomas of Charlotte; five sisters, Lucille T. White of Blacksburg, Ruby T. Blackwelder of Rock Hill, Margaret T. Bultman of Chester, Erma T. Rockholt of Venna, Va., and Lillian T. Gullett of York; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or to the charity of one's choice.
