Ruth Wilson
FORT MILL - Mrs. Ruth Smith Wilson, 69, of 120 W. Hill St. died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Fort Mill, with the Revs. Jeff Bedwell and George Dye officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of Mecklenburg County, N.C. She retired in 1998 from Campbell Dry Cleaners after 52 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest Roscoe and Emma Green Smith. She was the widow of Bill Wilson.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Taylor of Greenville; and two sisters, Pauline Dameron of Fort Mill and Beck Petty of Lancaster.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill and at other times at the home, 120 W. Hill St.

Margie Booe
YORK - Mrs. Margie Roseine Garmon Booe, 74, of 453 Daves Road died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at West Concord Cemetery in Concord, N.C., with the Rev. Ray Rippy officiating.
A native of Cabarrus County, N.C., Mrs. Booe was a daughter of the late William Henry Garmon and Lillie Mae Steele Garmon. She was homemaker and member of Pitts Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, June Hull of York; her brother, Lee Garmon of Harrisburg, N.C.; and her sister, Lula Moore of Kingsport, Tenn.
The family will receive friends at the home of Faye Booe, 160 O'Brien Place, S.W., Concord, N.C.
Hartsell Funeral Home is in charge.

Ida Mae Curry
YORK - Mrs. Ida Mae Baker Curry, 94, of York died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
The graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, with the Rev. Todd Speed officiating.
A native of York, Mrs. Curry was a daughter of the late Nathaniel Baker and Cora Bennett Baker. She was the widow of Charles LeRoy "Roy" Curry. A homemaker, she was the oldest continuous member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Circle No. 4.
Surviving are her son, Bill Curry of York; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today at Gillespie House at First Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be made to Faith First at First Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Liberty St., York, SC 29745.

Quincy Gaither
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Quincy Bell "Twincy" Gaither, 66, of 1132 Glenarden Drive died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at New Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert C. Brown officiating and the Revs. E.E. Vance, B.R. Wilson and M. Alexander assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Gaither was a daughter of Nancy Odom of Rock Hill and the late Isadore Odom. Mrs. Gaither was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sunday school, AP&B Society and Hymn Choir. She was a retired patient sitter. She attended public school at the New Zion Community Center and York Technical College. She was the widow of Moses C. Gaither.
Surviving in addition to her mother are seven daughters, Nora J. Gaither, Mozelle C. Turner, Percilla A. Gaither, Jacqueline Gaither and Paulette N. Watkins, all of Rock Hill, Nancy M. Burrell of Hampton, Va., and Ivette W. Sims of Columbia; five sons, James E. Gaither, Willie C. Gaither, David T. Watkins Jr. and Joseph J. Watkins, all of Rock Hill, and Jerry L. Gaither of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her brother, James Albert Odom of Rock Hill; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Parker Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. today.

Robert Hall
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Robert C. Hall, 79, of Charlotte died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Sardis Nursing Home.
The graveside service was Monday at Harrison United Methodist Church in Pineville, N.C.
A native of Mecklenburg County, Mr. Hall was a son of the late John K. Hall Sr. and Maude Potts Hall. He was the widower of Elizabeth Stanback Hall. He was a graduate of Pineville High School. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and was stationed at Wheeler Field adjacent to Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack Dec. 7, 1941. He later worked at Celanese in Rock Hill and retired from the General Motors Parts Distributions Center in Charlotte.
Surviving are his brother, Leitner S. Hall of Charlotte; and two sisters, Margaret Hall Hawfield of Durham, N.C., and Virginia Hall Wallace Gowdy of Cades.
Memorials may be made to Harrison United Methodist Church building fund, 15008 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, NC 28134.
McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, is in charge.

Howard Hemphill
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Howard Hemphill, 59, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at the home of his brother, Tommy Hemphill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1515 Remount Road, with the Rev. C.V. Owens officiating.
Mr. Hemphill was a native of York.
Surviving are three sons, Sharman Odom, Michael Howell, Dewan Adams; five brothers; five sisters; and special friend, Cora Davis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the Zechariah Alexander Sr. Memorial Chapel, 1424 Statesville Road.
Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

James Hope Jr.
COLUMBIA - Mr. James K. Hope Jr., 85, died Sunday, May 9, 1999.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eau Claire Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A native of York County, Mr. Hope was a son of the late James K. Hope Sr. and Robert Smith Hope. He was the widower of Lillian Coster Hope. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired from the Army Reserves with the rank of major. He also retired as director of the Juvenile Placement Division with the South Carolina Industrial School. He was a two-time recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, from Gov. West and Gov. Edwards. He was a member of Eau Claire Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, J.K. Hope III of Irmo and Roger P. Hope of Columbia; two daughters, Myra White of Rock Hill and Lillian Dowdy of Columbia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia.

Jimmie Leopard Jr.
GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Jimmie L. "Jim Bo" Leopard Jr., 43, of 1629 Warren Ave. died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dallas Funeral Home, with the Revs. Dexter Lambert, Steven Hall and Gary Leopard officiating. Burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, N.C.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Leopard was employed by Pharr Yarns as a card fixer.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ann Leopard; three daughters, Rebecca Mitchell of Rock Hill, Melissa Soles of Gastonia, Carla Jenkins of Clover; his parents, Jimmie L. Leopard Sr. and Linda Aldridge Leopard of Rock Hill; his brother, Gary D. Leopard of Rock Hill; two sisters, Terri Crocker and Ginger Comstock, both of Rock Hill; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Aldridge of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Dallas Funeral Home.

Katie Moses
YORK - Mrs. Katie Rachael Humphries Moses, 63, formerly of Clover, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover, with the Revs. Joe Edwards and Scott Whitney officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
A native of York County, Mrs. Moses was a daughter of the late James Humphries and Elizabeth McFadden Humphries. She was the widow of Cody Clyde Moses.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Bingham of Clover and Judy Ammons of York; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Ella Sadler
BOWLING GREEN - Mrs. Ella Burris Sadler, 62, of 895 Jamaica Lane died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Langrum Branch Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Osbey Roddey officiating.
A native of Harlem, N.Y., Mrs. Sadler was a daughter of the late Mary Anna Burris. She was a member of Langrum Branch Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Usher Board.
Surviving are her husband, Melvin Sadler; two sons, Paul Sadler of Goldsboro, N.C., and Darrell S. Sadler of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter, Sandra A. Sadler of the home; her brother, Alonzo Burris of Gastonia; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.
