Jeanne Marie Brown was born August 8, 1924, in Tyndall, to Frederick Oliver Reichert and Loretta Sophia Reichert. She married her high school sweetheart, John (Jack) Albert Brown on June 24, 1944, in South Carolina, during World War II. She was a long time resident of Duluth.
She died Monday, March 15, at the age of 79 years.
She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters: Jacquelynn Sue Grombacher and Jane Marie Pfisthner and husband, Craig; four grandchildren: John Frederick Grombacher and wife, Jennifer, George Lewis Grombacher, Jacob Alexander Pfisthner, and Samuel Colten Pfisthner.
William Plamp, 59
April 26, 1944 - March 17, 2004
Memorial services for William (Bill) Plamp will be held Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 10 a.m., at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Forest Lake, Minn.
He was born April 26, 1944, to Wilbur (Pete) and Margarete Plamp at Parkston. He attended school in Parkston and graduated in 1962. He graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology at Rapid City in 1966. He worked as a software engineer for Unisys in Minnesota for 38 years.
He died Wednesday, March 17, at his home in Forest Lake at the age of 59.
He is survived by his mother, Margarete, Parkston; his sisters: Marilynn Freier, Greeley, Colo., and Gloria Elmer, Denver, Colo; his brothers-in-law, Elwyn Freier, Greeley and Micheal Elmer, Denver; his nephews, Jacob (April) Freier and Alex Hall; his nieces, Anne Freier and Hannah Hall; and a great-niece, Mazlyn Freier.
Elmer Allmendinger, 75
February 23, 1929 - March 21, 2004
Funeral services for Elmer Allmendinger were held Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
He was born February 23, 1929, in Tripp to William and Rosina (Stoebner) Allmendinger. He married Inez Baumiller on March 12, 1950. The couple lived in the Tripp/Parkston area for many years where Elmer farmed and worked at various service stations. The family moved to Sioux Falls in the late 1950s. Elmer cleaned and installed carpet and began working in the sanitation business. In the early 1970s, they moved to Beresford where he continued in the sanitation business and was later employed at Woodfield Center until his retirement. Inez passed away in May of 1998. Elmer continued to live in Beresford until moving to Galena, Mo., where he has resided until the present time.
He died March 21 at the Sioux Valley Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls at the age of 75 years.
He is survived by two sons: Bruce, Sioux Falls, and Todd and wife, Joan, Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters: Velva "Jeanie" Wheeler and husband, Jerry, Garretson, and Darci Allmendinger, Sioux Falls; special friend Kay Anderson; 11 grandchildren, Monica Bettin, Maureen Kleven, Marlene Luedtke, Heather and Tim Allmendinger, Travis, Tyler and Candis Walter, Shelby Brillhart and Stephen and Philip Allmendinger; eight great-grandchildren: Breah, Cole, Kasey, Kendra, Tayla, Braiden, Kenzie and Riley; three brothers: Erwin, Upper Lake, Calif., Leo, Denver, Colo., and Melvin, Sioux Falls; two sisters, Marie Tiede, Lodi, Calif., and Bertha Baltzer, Freeman; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister.

Eva (Wisebeck) Sharpe, 84

Mass of Christian burial for Eva Sharpe was held Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Tripp, with the Rev. Robert Krantz officiating.
Interment was made in the Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell, with Goglin-Kelley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Melvin Mikuska, James Weber, Edgar Magera, Russell Weller, Dale Bakke, and Steven Perman.
Eva F. Sharpe was born on March 25, 1920, in Meadow to Besillas and Kathryn Wisebeck. She lived in Mitchell for many years and worked in a cafe. She moved to Tripp in 1989.
She died on Thursday, March 25, at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center. She attained the age of 84 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlene (Pat) Reynolds, Hartford; two grandsons, Tony Reynolds and Jim Reynolds; five great-grandchildren, Shantel, Elizabeth, Daris, Miranda and Michael; and two brothers, Martin Everette and George Wisebeck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters; and a grandchild, Michael Patrick.
Raymond Beiswanger, 75
January 9, 1929 - July 11, 2004
Funeral services for Raymond Beiswanger were held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 11 a.m., at Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard, with the Rev. Shelley Prentice officiating.
Interment was made in the Tonseth Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Erhard, with the Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls, Minn., in charge of arrangements.
Raymond was born on January 9, 1929, in Parkston, the son of Clarence and Justina (Wentzel) Beiswanger of German heritage. He graduated from Parkston High School in 1947.
From June of 1952 to April of 1953, he served his country overseas in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On September 13, 1953, he married Donna Lou Rorvig at Cyrus Lutheran Church in Cyrus. The couple farmed for nine years in South Dakota before moving to Starbuck and then to Jamestown, N.D. where they lived for 34 years. He worked as a carpenter and also worked at the Wilbert Vault Company in Jamestown and Morris for 20 years. In 1998, they retired to Fergus Falls. He most recently became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
He was a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard. He previously served in Parkston as a Sunday School teacher and on the church council and was also a member of the Eagles. He served on the honor guard.
He died Sunday, July 11, at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. He attained the age of 75 years.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; his mother, Justina; six children, Lynn (Carol), Bismark, N.D., Duane (Dawn), Sioux Falls, Douglas, Valley City, N.D., Bruce (Nancy), Sidney, Mont., Marsha (Ken) Williams, Underwood, Darcy (Terry) Vaughan, Estelline; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Norman (Anita) Beiswanger; and a sister, Lorraine Koster, all of Parkston; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; and two brothers-in-law, Everett Reimnitz and Herb Koster.
Calvin Schultz, 78

Funeral services for Calvin Schultz were held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mitchell.
Burial was made in the Graceland Cemetery with Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, in charge of arrangements.
Calvin Emil Schultz was born in Douglas County on June 12, 1926, to Emil and Emma (Moege) Schultz. At six months of age, he moved with his family to a Davison County farm southwest of Mitchell.
In 1928, polio struck Cal, but he helped with the farm, despite his disability.
He graduated from Ethan High School in 1946, and attended art school in Omaha, Neb., for two years. He taught at Father Flanagan s Boys Town in Omaha and at St. Paul s Indian Mission at Marty. He graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell in 1957 and founded the art department at the State Training School in Plankinton.
He married Ida Pfisher on August 11, 1961, at Mitchell. In 1965, he began teaching art in the Mitchell Public Schools and continued to do so until 1983, when post-polio syndrome affected his mobility.
For 25 years, he designed the murals for the Corn Palace. He also designed logos, contributed his art to fundraisers, and exhibited his work at the Oscar Howar Art Center.
He died Sunday, July 11, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell, at the age of 78 years.
He is survived by a son, Stephen Nicolaisen and wife, Charlotte, Mitchell; daughter Paula Guhin and husband, David, Aberdeen; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, in April, 2001; a son; his parents; and all seven of his siblings, Elton, Lehman, Bill, Urban (Slim), Lloyd, Delbert, and Elda.
Otto Wormsbecker, 87

Funeral services for Otto Wormsbecker were held Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Danzig Baptist Church, Avon, with Pastor Harry Johnson, officiating, and Pastor Tom Voigt, assisting.
Burial was made in the Danzig Baptist Cemetery, rural Avon, with military honors by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post 142 of Tripp. Honorary casketbearers were Christie Wobig, Lisa Wormsbecker, Andrea Wormsbecker, Bridget Brech, Tiffany Kolar, and Chelsea Brech. Casketbearers were Chad Wormsbecker, Jeremy Brech, Troy Wormsbecker, Delaine Schwaderer, Wallace Kost, Brady Kolar, Eddie Wobig, and Del Ray Kost.
Otto Wormsbecker, son of Alexander and Amelia (Berndt) Wormsbecker, was born July 8, 1917, on a farm near Avon.
He served in the United States Army during World War II from March 27, 1942 to November 15, 1945.
He married Esther Schwaderer on August 31, 1947, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont. He farmed the family homestead until his retirement to Florida in 1975, where he and his wife wintered for 25 years. They moved back to Avon in 2000.
He was baptized at the Danzig Baptist Church in 1950 and was a member, serving as an usher and trustee. He was also a member of the Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post 142 of Tripp.
He died Saturday, July 10, at his daughter s home in Harrisburg. He attained the age of 87 years and two days.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; two sons, Llewellyn and wife, Janet, and Terry and wife, Donna, all of Avon; daughter, Rhonda Brech and husband, Leon, Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, Chad Wormsbecker, Christie Wobig, Lisa Wormsbecker, Troy Wormsbecker, Andrea Wormsbecker, Bridget Brech, Tiffany Kolar, Jeremy Brech, and Chelsea Brech; three great-grandchildren, Jaedon and Ashtyn Wobig and Treyten Kolar; one sister, Mabel Kost and husband, John, Scotland; and many relatives and friends.
He was preced in death by his parents; and a great-grandson, Coledon Wobig.
Lothar T. Maag, 76

Funeral services for Lothar T. Magg were held Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at Friedens Reformed United Church of Christ, Tripp, with the Rev. Greg Way officiating. Music was furnished by the UCC Men's Choir and Shelly Finck, organist.
Interment was made in the church cemetery with military rites by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142. Honorary casketbearers were Mike Brezina, Cornelius Finck, Dennis Fischer, Sr., Bill Heisinger, Delray Herr, Willard Maas, and David Schmidt. Casketbearers were Chad Bietz, Brett Maag, Carlos Sprecher, Mark Sprecher, Ryan Weisz, and Tim Weisz. Goglin-Kelley Memorial Chapel, Tripp, was in charge of arrangements.
Lothar Theodore Maag was born on September 7, 1927, on the family farm in Hutchinson County in South Dakota. His parents were Theodore and Emma (Mayer) Maag. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Tripp.
He married Juanita Weisz on June 7, 1953, at Tripp, where they farmed all their married lives. He attended Maag School District #81 until the eighth grade and later attended Tripp High School, graduating in 1945. He served in the Army from 1950-1952 in the 549th Army Engineers and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Tripp, and was a member of the Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142 in Tripp for 51 years. He served on the church consistory, the township board, the Maag District #81 school board, and the boards of Tripp Farmers Lumber and the Farmers Union Oil Company.
He died Friday, July 16, at his home in Tripp after a struggle against cancer. He attained the age of 76 years.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; five children, Terry Maag and wife, Hope, Tripp, Cheryl (Maag) Coyle and husband, Mike, Springfield, Karen (Maag) Froehlich and husband, Francis, Tripp, Kenneth Maag, Springfield, and Todd Maag,Tripp; six grandchildren, Chad and wife, JoEllen, Brett, Jenna, Sara, Brittany and Emma; and a sister, Luella (Maag) Sprecher, Sioux Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brian; a sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and three nephews.
Evalyn (Gardemann) Klatt, 89

Interment was made in the Gracehill Cemetery, Tripp, with Goglin-Kelley Funeral Home, Tripp, in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were K. Jon Klatt, L. Rand Klatt, Kenneth J. Klatt Jr., William Ryan Klatt, Jordan R. Klatt, and Justin K. Lyons.
Evalyn D. Klatt was born September 9, 1914, at Atkins, Iowa, to Fred and Matilda (Schlotterback) Gardemann. Her family later moved to the Armour area where she graduated from Armour High School. She moved to Tripp as a young woman where she was employed by the Northwestern Public Service Company.
She married Kenneth G. Klatt on June 18, 1937, at the Klatt family home in Tripp. She was active in the Tripp community and a life long member of the United Methodist Church.
She died on Saturday, July 17, at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center at the age of 89 years.
She is survived by three children, Rand and wife, Bonita, Sioux Falls, Jon and wife Mary Catherine of Tripp, and Jill Lyon's and husband Ed, of Aurora, Co.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Paula; her parents; a brother, Lyle Gardemann, Corsica; and a sister, Wilma (Belitz) Waddel, Armour.
Marie (Tiede) Allmendinger, 82

Marie Tiede Allmendinger was born on a farm October 18, 1921, in the Tripp area to William and Lydia Allmendinger. She was a homemaker during her 50 years of her marriage.
She died Thursday, July 1, at Lodi, Calif. She attained the age of 82 years. Racha s Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her brothers, Al Allmendinger, Lake Port, Leo Allmendinger, Denver, Colo., and Melvin Allmendinger, Sioux Falls; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhardt Tiede in 2000; two sisters, Irene and Bertha Baltzer; and two brothers, Harold and Elmer Allmendinger.
Roberta C. (Craig) Monk, 92

Memorial services for Roberta C. Monk were held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Chelsea Retirement Community Chapel with Rev. Beth Foster officiating.
Her ashes will be placed in the Memorial Gardens of the First United Methodist Church of Brighton, Mich., with Cole Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Roberta was born on December 25, 1911, in Tripp, the daughter of John H. and Mary W. (Klatt) Craig.
She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in music education. She was a talented pianist and organist. She enjoyed painting.
She married Burrill G. Monk on May 31, 1935.
She died Friday, Sept. 17, at Chelsea Retirement Community where she had resided on K-2 since 2000. She attained the age of 92 years.
She is survived by a son, Dennis (Kathryn) Monk, Annapolis, Md.; daughter, Gail K. (Chester) Harkiewicz, Brighton, Mich.; six grandchildren, Dyan (William) Alexandria, Christopher (Jackie) Walker, Anthony (Cheryl) Walker, Kimberly (Doug) Matthews, John (Irene) Monk, Scott Monk; 13 great-grandchildren; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; and a sister, Muriel Miller.

Teresa Marie Burnside was born January 14, 1962, at Dodge City, Kansas. She attended elementary school and graduated from high school at Buffalo, Okla. She graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State College, Weatherford, Okla., with a degree in musical therapy. She completed her musical therapy internship at Ft. Logan Mental Institution, Denver, Colo. After her internship she went to work at Oregon State Mental Institution, Salem, Ore. She worked at the institution for several years.
She graduated from Chemawa Community College, Salem, Ore., as a registered nurse. She worked in several hospitals as a nurse until her health problems occurred.
She was active with the youth group at Capital Park Wesleyan Church organizing religious retreats in the United States and Mexico.
She died Sunday, Sept. 5, at Salem, Ore. She attained the age of 42 years.
She is survived by her mother, Gayle Gard and stepfather, Robert Gard, Littleton, Colo.; stepbrothers, Greg and Marcus Gard, Littleton, Colo., and Bernie Gard, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; father, James and stepmother, Shirley Burnside, Buffalo, Okla.; stepbrothers, Kevin Burnside, Inman, Kan., and Kirk Burnside, Enid, Okla.
Geraldine (Schmiedt) Tilton, 87

Services for Geraldine A. Tilton will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be made in North Thetfort, Vt.
Geraldine was born January 23, 1917, in Tripp to Frederich A. and Maria Schmiedt. She lived in Mariemont and Madison Place for many years until she and her husband, Frank, retired to Pasco County, Fla., returning to Cincinnati in 1994.
She died December 28, 2004, at the age of 87 years.
She is survived by her son, Fred (Judy) Tilton, Cincinnati; grandsons, Brad Fowler, Columbus, and Steve Tilton, Vail, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers and sisters.
Clara (Wollman) Pietz, 87
November 10, 1917 - January 5, 2005
Funeral services for Clara (Wollman) Pietz were held January 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial was made at Graceland Park Cemetery. Casketbearers were Andrew Pietz, Michael and Matthew Haller, Steve Haller and Alex Karras.
Clara was born November 10, 1917, at Freeman, the daughter of Andrew and Justina (Kleinsasser) Wollman. She was raised at Freeman and graduated from Freeman High in 1936.
She married Albert Pietz of Parkston on May 13, 1939. They moved to Sioux City in 1940. Both worked until their retirement in 1980.
She died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at a Sioux City retirement home after a brief illness. She attained the age of 87 years.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; a son, Ronald, and two daughters; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, C.J. Freeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers.
Eleanor (Hafner) Hanson, 84

Funeral services for Eleanor Hanson were held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Garretson, with Father Anthony Imberi and Deacon Don Wagner officiating. Music was furnished by the congregation and Grant Hanson. Jolene Barber was the organist.
Interment was made in the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery with Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson, in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Grant Hanson, Eric Benson, Erin Tisdell, Valerie Hanson, Katie Benson, and Kelly Tisdell.
Eleanor was born May 27, 1920, at Parkston to Frank and Mary (Hoffman) Hafner. She grew up near Parkston and attended country school near there. After her education, she worked on the family farm until moving to Beverly Hills, Calif., where she worked as a waitress for two years. She moved to Bryant, S.D., and worked in the dry cleaning business with her brother, Michael.
She married Grant Hanson on August 12, 1949, in Bryant. They lived in Bryant until moving to Garretson in 1951. In Garretson, they operated the Garretson Bakery until 1970. Grant died December 20, 1971.
She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She died Thursday, Feb. 24, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, after a brief illness. She attained the age of 84 years.
She is survived by a son, Norman Hanson and wife, LuAnn, Wilmot; two daughters, Linda Hanson, Sioux Falls, and JoEllen Benson and husband, Tim, Garretson; five grandchildren; a brother, Ben Hafner and wife, Carol, Glencoe, Minn.; two sisters, Marge Maxwell and husband, Robert, and Mary Kuhn and husband, Bill, all of Parkston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Francis Friedel; and five brothers, Paul, Frank Jr., Joseph, Al, and Michael.
Goldie (Heil) Paul, 95

Funeral services for Goldie Paul were held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.
Burial was made in the Tripp Cemetery.
Goldie Magdalena Sylvia Heil Paul was born on April 3, 1909, at the Moneystock Farm in Wagner to Jacob and Anna (Schelske) Heil.
She married Lloyd W. Paul of Odebolt, Iowa, on January 28, 1934, in Wagner. They farmed near Wagner until moving to Tripp in 1942.
She attained the age of 95 years.
She is survived by her son, Marvin and wife, Jan, Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Carmen (Jeff) Ross, Hot Springs, La Vern, Duane, Daniel Paul, Sioux Falls, Russell, Oklahoma City, Okla., Larry, Caddo Mills, Texas; three step-granddaughters, Andrae Thompson, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Paul (Denae) Baustian, Harrisburg, Mrs. Brad (Janina) Heiden, Sioux Falls; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nine step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 1988; and her sister, Amanda.
