Tehya Joan Carlson was born on May 26, 2004, at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, MS. Tehya was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD. Since the day Tehya was born she was a happy baby. Everyone she met she always had a smile for them. When she finally learned to walk you couldn't stop her, she was so independent. She wanted to be just like her sister Jacinda. Tehya was beautiful, smart, and she had so much charisma. Her favorite things to do were taking all the DVD's out of the entertainment center, messing with her sister's games, sorting blocks, and biting anything she could get her hands on. She loved going for walks and swimming in the pool with her sister. She loved to cuddle and would crawl up on you just cause she wanted to be held. She just learned to give kisses and suck from a straw. Tehya was such a loving baby and she had an especially tight bond with her sister. Just watching them play together brought such joy to our lives. She loved and was loved by the closest people in her life: her mama, dada, Cinda, and papa. Tehya had a short life but she will live on in our hearts forever. We'll miss you our precious baby.
Tehya went home to Jesus on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the age of 15 months.
Tehya is survived by her mother, Barbara Baldwin and her husband, Christian of Biloxi, MS, and her father, Daniel Carlson of Sisseton, SD; her sister, Jacinda Carlson of Sisseton, SD; maternal grandparents, Dawn Price of Manistee, MI, and John and Danielle Two Stars of Agency Village, SD; paternal grandparents, Dale and Joanie Carlson of Sisseton, SD; great grandmother, Marie George of Sisseton, SD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
