Sister Leonilla Mock
Yankton - Sister Leonilla Mock, 91, of Yankton and formerly of Aberdeen, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at the Sacred Heart Monastery Healthcare Center in Yankton.
Her funeral Mass was Aug. 30.
Burial was in the monastery cemetery. Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton was in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Mock was born Dec. 31, 1909, to Valentine and Magdalen (Wolf) Mock in Aberdeen. She graduated from St. Mary's School and Aberdeen Central High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Mount Marty College in Yankton. She entered Sacred Heart Monastery in August 1930. She made her first profession as a Benedictine Sister Aug. 15, 1932, and began a teaching career that year. For 35 years she served as an elementary teacher in 11 parochial schools in South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado, and for 24 years at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ School in Lincoln, Neb. She was in an automobile accident in 1991, which forced her return to the monastery. Five months later she worked with students as a tutor at Sacred Heart School in Yankton.
She was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Lincoln Catholic School System in 1979, and was chosen Best Elementary Teacher in 1984 and Elementary Teacher of the Year in 1986.
She had an interest in world and daily events, and was especially interested in youth.
Survivors include four sisters, Helen Johns and Martha Hill, both of Aberdeen, Kathryn Sampson of Flandreau, and Agnes Wilkowski of San Diego; and one brother, the Rev. Timothy Mock of Dearborn Heights, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Raymond Spiry
Glenham - Raymond Spiry, 81, of Glenham died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Carma Jean Renmoe
Watertown - Carma Jean Renmoe, 62, of Watertown and formerly of Ellendale, N.D., and Aberdeen, died of natural causes Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at her residence.

Ilene Fish
Spearfish - The funeral for Ilene Fish, 59, of Spearfish and formerly of Pollock, Redfield and Lemmon, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Floyd Haan will officiate.

Benny Zimmerman
Mobridge - Benny Zimmerman, 83, of Mobridge died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Alice Dempsey
Sisseton - Funeral Mass for Alice Dempsey, 88, of Sisseton will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton. The Rev. Norman Volk will officiate.

Edna Pearl Frey
Aberdeen - The funeral for Edna Pearl Frey, 60, of 628 S. Rock St. will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Savior Lutheran Church, 624 N. Jay St. The Rev. Terry Naasz will officiate.

Walter J. Fox
Clark - The funeral for Walter J. Fox, 88, of Clark will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Clark. The Rev. Ken Bain will officiate.

Donald 'Pete' C. Stablein
Aberdeen - The memorial service for Donald “Pete” C. Stablein, 90, of Aberdeen will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. The Rev. Eldon Reich will officiate.

Annetta Jansen
Redfield - Annetta Jansen, 97, of Redfield died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare Center in Redfield.

Lourdes M. Krein
Minneapolis - Lourdes M. Krein, 59, of Minneapolis died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen. The Rev. Gary Wileman will officiate.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Green Mound Cemetery in Leola.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Ruth E. Jones
Aberdeen - Memorial services for Ruth E. Jones, 88, of Aberdeen will be at noon Saturday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. The Rev. Eldon Reich and the Rev. D.C. Forbes will officiate.
Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
She died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

Clow Gauer
Ipswich - Mass of Christian burial for Clow Gauer, 85, of Ipswich will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich. The Rev. Thomas Clement will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hein Funeral Home of Ipswich is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service today at the church.
She died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at the Beverly Healthcare Nursing Home in Ipswich.
Clow Engelhardt was born Sept. 24, 1915, to Henry and Magdalena (Adler) Engelhardt in McHenry County near Carson, N.D. When she was 2 years old, she moved with her family to a farm near Ipswich. She attended Holy Cross School.
She married Sylvester Gauer on Jan. 26, 1935. They lived near Ipswich for one year and then moved to Nampa, Idaho. In 1943 they returned to Ipswich and lived on a farm south of Craven Corner. They retired in 1966. He died in 1976. She continued to live on the farm until 1977, when she moved into Ipswich. She had been a resident of the Beverly Healthcare Nursing Home since December 1999.
She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Altar Society and the National Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include one son, David (Angela) Gauer of Hanover Park, Ill.; two brothers, Leo Engelhardt of Alamogordo, N.M., and Lawrence Engelhardt of Ipswich; one sister, Mae Livingston of Backus, Minn.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Casketbearers will be LeRoy Gauer, Lenny Gauer, Joe A. Gauer, Carroll Brick, Jake Hammrich, Ray Geditz and Gary Hahler.

Vincent L. Wegner
Estelline - Vincent L. Wegner, 61, of Estelline and formerly of Tulare and Redfield, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center.

Georgia O. Hamm
Sisseton - The funeral for Georgia O. Hamm, 83, of Sisseton will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Sisseton. The Rev. Thomas Kuusisto will officiate.

Agnes Lyngbye
Sioux Falls - The funeral for Agnes Lyngbye, 87, of Sioux Falls and formerly of the Bradley area, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Bradley. The Rev. Dan Hooks will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Furness Funeral Home of Clark is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home in Clark and prior to the service Wednesday at the church in Bradley.
She died following a long illness on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.
Agnes Stacey was born May 2, 1914, to Thomas and Ellen Jane (Clyde) Stacey at Garden City. She grew up and attended school at Garden City.
She married Melvin J.
Lyngbye on June 17, 1935, at Clark. They farmed for a few years with his brothers. They made their home in the Clark area, mostly near the Bradley and Garden City communities. They also resided in Webster for a short time before moving to Sioux Falls 10 years ago. He died July 9, 1997.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Bradley.
She enjoyed a variety of hobbies including crochet, needlework, making doll clothes and working with plastic canvas. She also liked gardening and working with flowers.
Survivors include one daughter, Mila (Howard) Johnson of Sioux Falls; five sisters, Margaret Peterson of Webster, Doris Peterson of Crocker, Dorothy Vick of Doland, and Mary Bergan and Ida Lundholm, both of Madison; three brothers, Ervin Stacey of Lily, Francis “Red” Stacey of Bradley and Russell “Bud” Stacey of Madison; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, one grandson, two sisters and one brother.
Casketbearers will be Todd Johnson, Troy Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Dustin Hawk and Raymond Hiles.
