Groton -- The funeral for Irma Olson, 80, of Groton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Groton. The Rev. Craig Grams and the Rev. John Israel will officiate.
John Riedy
Lemmon -- The funeral for John Riedy, 89, of Lemmon will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon.
Michelle Lynn Ruhn-Riddle
Fargo, N.D. -- The funeral for Michelle Lynn Ruhn-Riddle, 32, of Fargo and formerly of Oakes, N.D., will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Charles Catholic Church in Oakes. The Rev. Adam Hasey will officiate.
Leslie K. Brundell
Aberdeen -- The funeral for Leslie K. Brundell, 63, of Aberdeen will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Ave. The Rev. Allan Schoonover will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverside Memorial Park at Aberdeen. Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
A prayer service will be at 5 tonight at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, all at the funeral home. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
He died of natural causes on Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Conde.
Leslie K. Brundell was born Jan. 11, 1938, to Kenneth and Marion (Sherlin) Brundell at Alexandria, Minn. He attended school and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1955. After school he went to work at the Nelson Creamery in Nelson, Minn.
He married Phyllis Squier on June 5, 1959, in Nelson. They made their home in Nelson where he was the mayor. He later worked as a manager for many grain elevators in Minnesota and South Dakota. In 1993 they moved to Aberdeen and he was working for South Dakota Wheat Growers at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on several different church boards in Minnesota and South Dakota.
He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife of Aberdeen; one son, Jeffrey Brundell of Watertown; two daughters, Sheri (Mike) Wietgrefe of Mina and Cynthia Brundell of Plato, Minn.; three brothers, Dennis Brundell of Yachats, Ore., Frank Brundell of Spokane, Wash., and Bruce Brundell of Nelson; one stepsister, Marilyn Wilson of Austin, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother and one brother.
Casketbearers will be Daryl Swanhorst, Randy Squier, Dean Hoffman, Dick Johnson, Mike Wambach and Dave Dohman.
Grace K. Geisecke
Lincoln, Neb. -- Grace K. Giesecke, 82, of Lincoln and formerly of Leola, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Lincoln.
Her body was cremated. Roper and Sons Funeral Services of Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Grace K. Giesecke was born at Leola. She was a retired school teacher.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, Girl Scouts and Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne G. Giesecke of Arlington, Va., and Joan R. Giesecke of Lincoln.
Arthur Schuler
Groton -- The funeral for Arthur Schuler, 76, of Groton and formerly of Aberdeen, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Spitzer-Osthus Funeral Home, 320 Sixth Ave. S.E, Aberdeen. The Rev. Dennis Hansen will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Aberdeen.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday, all at the funeral home.
He died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Arthur Schuler was born Feb. 14, 1925, to Edward and Martha (Bieber) Schuler in Hague, N.D. He attended grade school in Artas and later moved to Aberdeen, where he played drums for a local band. On Nov. 14, 1999, he moved into the Beverly Healthcare Center in Groton.
Survivors include two sisters, Emma Hawley of Littleton, Colo., and Martha Merkel of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Loretta Marion Trygstad
Lily -- Loretta Marion Trygstad, 80, of Lily died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Garden Oaks Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bristol. The Rev. David Janes will officiate.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hillside Cemetery near Lily. Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown is in charge of arrangements.
A scriptural wake service will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church in Bristol.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church in Bristol.
Loretta Marion Lynch was born May 14, 1920, to Aloysius T. and Marion (Casson) Lynch southwest of Bristol.
She married Walter E. Trygstad on Sept. 14, 1949. They farmed northwest of Lily for 45 years until his death in 1994. She was appointed assistant postmaster of the Lily Post Office in 1967. She served as postmistress until 1988, when she retired.
She was an active member of the Altar Society of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lily. She was also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bristol.
Survivors include two sons, William (Elizabeth) Trygstad of Albert Lea, Minn., and Edward (Melinda) Trygstad of Cedarburg, Wis.; two daughters, Jacqueline (Duane) Olson of Sioux Falls, and Joan (Michael) Carpenter of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters.
Casketbearers will be Matthew Trygstad, Eric Trygstad, Carlyle Trygstad, Leo Schmit, Larry Lynch and Mike Anderson.
John A. Hagen
Claremont -- The funeral for John A. Hagen, 46, of Claremont will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Claremont. The Rev. Wayne Tieszen will officiate.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Huffton. Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel in Groton is in charge of arrangements.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church in Claremont.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Groton and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church in Claremont.
He died of natural causes Thursday, May 3, 2001, at his residence.
John Arthur Hagen was born April 4, 1955, to Darrell and Bertha (Jeorger) Hagen in Schenectady, N.Y. He grew up and attended school in the Claremont area. He graduated from Groton High School in 1973.
He married Tammy Ness on May 27, 1977, in Claremont. They farmed south of Claremont.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Claremont. He also belonged to the Farmer's Union and the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Claremont; two sons, Terry Hagen of Aberdeen, and Lenni Hagen of Groton; two daughters, Emma Hagen and Kristin Hagen, both of Claremont; his mother of Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Alan Hagen of Kennewick, Wash., Joe Hagen of Shepherd, Mont., and Mike Hagen of Sioux Falls; three sisters, Vicki Hagen of Moriarty, N.M., Marie Hagen of Prescott, Ariz., and Ellen Bauer of Florence, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Casketbearers will be Leonard Severson, John Severson, Harold Feser, Barney Dombrowe, Robbin Green and Steve Cutler.

Ashley, N.D. -- Jacob J. Engel, 85, of Ashley and formerly of Bismarck, N.D., died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at the Ashley Nursing Home.
