Harold L. Reed
Miller -- Harold L. Reed, 78, of Miller died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Reck Funeral Home in Miller. The Rev. Gary Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery in Frederick.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Harold Lavene Reed was born May 10, 1922, to Perry and Susy (Ashbough) Reed at Frederick. He farmed in the Oakes, N.D., and Fullerton, N.D., area.
He married Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick on Jan. 26, 1960. They moved to the Hecla area, where he worked at the Lahman Manufacturing Company as a welder. They then moved to Oakes, where they lived until after he retired. They later moved to the Miller area.
Survivors include his wife of Miller; one daughter, Brenda Reed of Miller; two sons, Merle Reed and Harlan (Frances) Reed, both of Miller; seven stepchildren; one brother of Oakes; one sister of Oakes; several grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one son in infancy.

Hilda Stadel
Aberdeen -- Hilda Stadel, 81, of Aberdeen died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her residence.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. The Rev. Gene Peterson will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Hilda Heiser was born Nov. 2, 1919, to John J. and Margaretha (Weller) Heiser in Campbell County. She was raised and educated in the Campbell County area.
She married Albert Stadel on Nov. 13, 1938, in Campbell County. They made their first home in that area. They farmed until 1968, when they moved to Aberdeen. She worked in the housekeeping department at the Holiday Inn until she retired. He died June 4, 1997. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include one son, Jerry (Paula) Stadel of Montrose, Colo.; one daughter, Norma (Alfred) Werre of Aberdeen; one brother, Walter Heiser of Miltona, Minn.; seven sisters, Edna Schaeffer, Mathilda Schaeffer and Katheryn Mettler, all of Eureka, Martha Wiedmeier, Irene Knapp and Elsie Mettler, all of Rapid City, and Ella Bader of Appleton, Minn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers.
Casketbearers will be Dan Schaffer, Paul Erdmann, Marvin Bitz, Myron Mettler, Don Heinrich and Rick Heinrich.

Gladys Helen Ost
Ellendale, N.D. -- The funeral for Gladys Helen Ost, 71, of Ellendale will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian United Methodist Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Mary Ann Sheldon and the Rev. Larry Gunther will officiate.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. CDT Friday in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, N.D., with Hoven Funeral Chapel in Ellendale in charge of arrangements.
A prayer service will be at 7:30 tonight at the funeral chapel.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
She died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale.
Gladys Helen Herrmann was born March 2, 1930, to Otto and Elsie (Schweigert) Herrmann on a farm near Merricourt, N.D., in Dickey County. After graduating from Kulm High School in North Dakota in 1947, she attended summer school at State Normal and Industrial College in Ellendale. From 1947 to 1952, she taught rural school.
She married Osborn Ost on Dec. 28, 1952, in Kulm. She taught school in Ashley, N.D., Alfred, N.D., and Wishek, N.D., until 1966. She received her bachelor of science degree at the University of North Dakota, Ellendale Branch. In 1966, she began teaching in the Ellendale Public School System and taught until 1983. Because of disabling health, she retired from teaching in 1984 and continued to reside at her home. On Jan. 18, 2001, she entered the Prince of Peace Care Center, where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the Presbyterian United Methodist Church in Ellendale, the United Methodist Women's Circle, North Dakota Retired Teachers Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed baking, embroidering, cross stitch, gardening and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband of Ellendale; two sons, Timothy (Nancy) Ost of Valley City, N.D., and Todd (Geneva) Ost of Great Bend, Kan.; two daughters, Tamara Fritzler of Gillette, Wyo., and Teresa (Scott) Campbell of Frederick; two brothers, Melvin Herrmann and Delano Herrmann, both of Fargo, N.D.; two sisters, Florence Radke of Fredonia, N.D., and Alice Blumhardt of Langford; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and one infant brother.
Casketbearers will be Leonard Messner, Paul Merkel, Brent Klipfel, Earl Webster, Jay Kendall and Paul Brandenburger.

Phyllis Jean Taylor
Stratford -- The funeral for Phyllis Jean Taylor, 69, of Stratford will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1115 24th Ave. N.E., in Aberdeen. Bishop Michael Hollan will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary and for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
She died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Augusta Huber
Herreid -- The funeral for Augusta Huber, 91, of Herreid and formerly of the Akaska and Selby area, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. The Rev. Del Neumeister will officiate.
Burial will be in the Akaska Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
She died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Herreid Good Samaritan Center.
Augustine Henniretta Buechler was born July 25, 1909, to Jacob and Rosina (Hettich) Buechler in Seneca. She grew up in the Seneca area and attended school there.
She married William Huber on March 30, 1930. They made their home on a farm near Akaska. While living in Akaska she worked as a cook at the Akaska School. In 1967, he died and she moved to Selby. While living in Selby she worked at the Selby Good Samaritan Center for six years. In 1975, she moved to the Herreid Good Samaritan Center, where she had since resided.
She attended the Congregational Church until its closing and then the Herreid Baptist Church. She was a member of the Selby United Church of Christ.
She enjoyed sewing, house plants, watching basketball games, reading, collecting recipes and helping others.
Survivors include one son, LeRoy (Sylvia) Huber of Rapid City; one brother, Joe Buechler of California; two sisters, Delilah Albers of Seneca and Ella Buechler of Spearfish; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Casketbearers will be Clyde Huber, Wilton Schilling, Bob Schilling, Dean Schilling, William Huber and Wade Huber.

Augusta Huber
Herreid -- Augusta Huber, 91, of Herreid and formerly of the Akaska and Selby area, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Herreid Good Samaritan Center.

Elizabeth 'Beth' Dougall
Isabel -- The funeral for Elizabeth 'Beth' Irene Dougall, 87, of Isabel will be at 2 p.m. MDT today at United Church of Christ in Isabel. The Rev. Young Min Park will officiate.
Burial will be in the Hillsview Cemetery with Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at the church.
She died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Mobridge.
Elizabeth Irene Dougall was born April 1, 1914, to Glen and Ella (Daniels) Dougall six miles north of Isabel. When she was 4, the family moved to the Lincoln, Neb., area. She received her early education there. In 1930, the family returned to Isabel, where she graduated from high school in 1931. She helped on the farm and herded sheep. She worked in Omaha, Neb., in a bomber plant for one year during World War II, and spent one year in Oregon. She then returned to Isabel to help with the family farm until she began employment at the Isabel Co-Op Store. She became manager in 1955, and remained there until retirement. For many years she coached girls' basketball and remained a faithful and avid supporter of all sports. She moved to the Beverly Healthcare Center in Mobridge in May 1999.
She enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include four sisters, Delores Lindskov, Wilma Lindskov and Glenna Reich, all of Isabel, and Ruth Heck of Casselton, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother and one sister.
Casketbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
