DESSIE PARKER SCOTT
Mrs. Dessie Parker Scott, 85, of Maryville, TN, and formerly of Dalton, died Monday, March 22, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Willard Scott in 1991; her sisters, Buelah and Maggie; her brothers, Charlie, R.L., Clifford, J.C. and Hubert.
Dessie is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Gene Cable of Maryville, TN; grandson, Andy Brunson of Knoxville, TN; great-grandson, Drew Brunson of Seymour, TN; twin sister, Jessie Pritchett of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Velma Parker of Dalton, GA; brother-in-law, Jack Scott of Hartwell, GA; sisters-in-law, Betty Whitfield of Hartwell and Betty Parker of Chatsworth, GA; devoted nieces, Debbie Cain of Ringgold, GA, Wanda Williams and Sandra Headrick both of Dalton and Linda Pritchett of Nashville, TN; other nieces and nephews; extended family, Marshall Sellers and all the loving and caring staff of Asbury Place of Maryville.
Services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the chapel of The Love Funeral Home. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Love Funeral Home, 1402 North Thornton Ave., Dalton, is in charge of arrangements.

DAVID L. AULTOM
Rev. David L. Aultom, born September 20, 1928, age 75, of Alcoa, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, at University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Ballard's Chapel Baptist Church and pastored at Emanuel Baptist Church in Anderson County, Piney Level Baptist Church in Blount County, Riverview Baptist Church in Rockford, Ballard's Chapel Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church in Loudon County, and Village Baptist Church in Blount County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean C. Aultom; grandson, Christopher Brown; and parents, Daniel P. and Minnie Hatcher Aultom.
Rev. Aultom is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Hicks of Maryville, Becky and Paul Gentry of Maryville, Vicky and Mike Hammontree of Greenback, and Kimberly White of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Ginger Aultom of Alcoa, Tim Aultom of Michigan, and John and Jackie Aultom of Knoxville; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Trula Duggan of Powell, Helen Cline of Kodak, Imogene West of Strawberry Plains; sister-in-law and husband, Elsie and Jack Wilkerson of Powell, June and Larry Simpson of Maine, Birdie Hawkins of Powell; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons and Ed Hicks. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Keeble. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 at Ballard's Chapel Baptist Church; the Revs. Jerry Vittatoe, Ronnie White, and Scott White officiating. Interment service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Ballard's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The body is at the family home (548 East Cunningham St., Alcoa) where friends may call at their convenience from 6:00 p.m. Saturday until 1:00 p.m. Monday. Note to all florists: All flowers are to be delivered to the family home. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

WILBUR D. CONNER
Wilbur D. Conner, age 84, of Maryville, departed this life, Saturday, March 20, 2004, at his home. He was preceded in death by his sons, W.C. Conner and Thomas Conner. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea.
Survivors include: wife, Edith R. Conner; sons, Ronnie Conner, David and Rhonda Conner, Rick Morse and Eddie and Rhonda Bales; daughters, Connie Riddle, Betty Hall, Celia and Randy McKee, Donna and Danny Curtis, Karen and Danny Bounds, Teresa and David Latham; 36 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Old Piney Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Elmer Webb officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, .

SARAH SHELTON HICKEY ROSS
Sarah Shelton Hickey Ross, age 76, of Loudon, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at her home she loved so dear. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. Sarah retired from Loudon Healthcare Center and then continued as a private home health care giver. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Miles Shelton. She is survived by her children, Jim and Linda Hickey; grandchildren, Jeff and Paige Hickey, Jennifer and Terrell Gribble; great-grandchildren, Jenna Gribble and Elijah Hickey, all of Maryville; sister, Faye Freels, of Oliver Springs; special friends, Shirley Watson, of Loudon; church family, friends, neighbors and a special pet, Susie.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Loudon Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Watson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Steekee cemetery for the graveside service. Loudon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PLEASANT CALVIN SHIELDS
Pleasant Calvin Shields, 85, of Maryville died peacefully Saturday, March 20, 2004 at home. He was born in Cades Cove, TN, March 11, 1919, to parents George Henry and Polly Angline Gregory Shields. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Georgie Rogers Shields and son Ronald Shields. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and Alcoa Twenty-Five Year Club, he worked for Alcoa for 39 Years. He is survived by his son George C. Shields of Louisville; grandchildren: Terri and William Bobo Jr., George C. Shields II; great-grandchildren: Dawn M. Riddick, and William P. Bobo III; great-great-granddaughter: Georgie Michelle Riddick, all of Maryville. The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Mt. Lebanon cemetery for graveside services with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Blount Memorial Hospice.

LOUISE TOWNSEND
Louise Townsend, age 78 of Townsend, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Townsend Church of God and a member of the Eastern Star.
Preceded in death by, husband, Frank Leroy "Bud" Townsend; grandson, Donnie Wayne Townsend; granddaughter, Katie Deal; and brother, Art Woodby. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Suzie Townsend, of Townsend, David and Donna Townsend of Canada; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Eugene Deal of Maryville; grandchildren, David, Chris, LeAnn, Denise, Kim, Becky, Josh and Elizabeth; and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Woodby of Maryville.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

RUTH MIRIAM WARREN
Ruth Miriam Warren, age 70, of Maryville, TN, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004, at NHC Fort Sanders in Knoxville, TN. Ms. Warren, a native of Orrville, Alabama, was a resident at Fairpark Healthcare Center in Maryville, TN, since 1985 and a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville, TN. She attended Livingston State College in Livingston, Alabama, and was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She taught girls Physical Education and Biology at Mainland Senior High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, for seventeen years before retiring due to a stroke in 1973. Ms. Warren also coached the girl's swimming team at Mainland.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lelia Mae Goines Warren; father, the Rev. Edward B. Warren; sister, Margaret Ellen Warren of Orrville, AL; brother, Edward B. Warren Jr. of Charlotte, NC; and brothers-in-law, W.J. "Dub" Moffett of Maryville, TN, and Jack F. Green of Seymour, TN.
Survivors include her sister, Martha Eleanor Warren Moffett Green of Seymour, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, George B. and Florence M. Warren Sr. of Marion, Alabama, Charles Albert and Martha B. Warren of Selma, AL, and Paul Judson and Betty S. Warren of Mobile AL; sister-in-law Clarice Howard Warren Morgan and husband George Morgan of Charlotte, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at 8 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home, the Rev. Earl Taylor of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Maryville, TN, and the Rev. Dr. Bruce Yates of Seymour First Baptist Church, Seymour, TN, officiating. Graveside service for family and friends will be held 1:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Orrville Cemetery, Orrville, AL, in the Warren Family Plot, the Rev. James Waters of Marion, AL, officiating.
Our family would like to extend our love and abundant appreciation to Ruth's Fairpark Healthcare Center Family, who loved and cared for her, and for the love, support, and encouragement extended to her sister and legal guardian for nineteen years, Martha. Thank you to everyone who has supported us with their prayers and love, and, so many acts of kindness. LEITA MAE BAILEY FEEZELL
Leita Mae Bailey Feezell, 82, died in a local nursing home in Hot Springs, AR, on Friday, March 19, 2004. Mrs. Feezell was born on March 2, 1922 to the late Maston T. and Margaret Mae Humphrey Bailey in Maryville, Tenn., in the Great Smoky Mountains.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hot Springs and had lived in Hot Springs for the past 62 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Charles Feezell, Sr., and her son, Louis Charles Feezell, Jr.
Her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Joel Dean and Nora Feezell of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dan Goldman of Hot Springs; 2 grandsons, Justin Feezell of Oxford, Mississippi, and Dan Goldman, Jr. and his wife Kathy of St. Paul, MN; 2 granddaughters, Kimberlee Feezell Lippencott of Clifton, VA, and Kara and her husband Mike Holley of Kaufman, TX, 3 great-grandchildren, Brooke Ashlyn Holley and Hope Kathryn Holley, both of Kaufman, TX and Sean Timothy Goldman of St. Paul, MN; 2 sisters, Reba Cunningham of Fort Worth, TX and Irene Williams of Maryville, TN.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 22, 2004, at 10:00 A.M. in the Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Smith officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials have been designated to the Hospice Homecare, 3634 Central Ave., Suite A, Hot Springs AR 71913 or the American Cancer Society.

KRYSTAL K. `K.K.' JONES
Krystal K. (K.K.) Jones, age 40, of Louisville, passed away 11:00 P.M. Friday, March 19, 2004 at her home after battling Lou Gehrig's disease for 11 years. A member of Parkway Christian Fellowship Church and a former employee of Bass, Berry & Sims plc Attorneys at Law, Knoxville. She had many talents and loved flowers and decorating. One talent especially was her love and compassion for other people.
Survivors: mother, Brenda Jones, Louisville; brother, Jeff Jones, Maryville; niece, Chesney Jones; nephew, Clark Jones, both of Friendsville; grandmother, Hazel Sue Jones, Vonore; aunts, Nioka Spangler, Vonore, Sybil Daugherty, Louisville, Virginia Mullins, Tellico Plains, Johnnie Heim, Charleston, S.C.; aunts & uncles, Brenda & Buddy Kidd, Maryville, Genny & Guy Wiggins, Vonore, Pat & Susan Jones, Vonore; several couisins and a host of friends; special friends, Will Skelton and Darlene Owenby, both of Knoxville.
Preceded in death by father, Larry Jones; grandparents, Ed Jones, Fletcher & Edna Hensley.

REBECCA FLORENCE `GRANNY' LAW
Rebecca Florence 'Granny' Law, born April 13, 1908, age 95, of Maryville passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. preceded in death by son, Harrison Law; parents, Abraham and Mary Law; four brothers; four sisters; and one step brother. She is SURVIVED by her daughter, Elnora Law of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Imogene Law of Maryville; granddaughters, Susan Law Sartin and Beth Law Corbin; great-granddaughters, Mrs. James (Brittany) Gardner, Cameron Rigsby, and Ariel Sartin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Carl White officiating. Graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Laws Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

JOHN WILLIAM RICE
John William Rice, age 84, of Maryville, went to be with the Lord on Friday March 19, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was born April 14, 1919 in Punxtawney, PA.
He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and was an accomplished gunsmith and 10 year Florida champion skeet and trap shooter. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, starting as a member of the Blue Lodge in PA. He was also a member of the Nobles of Mystic Shrine in Tampa, FL. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and a Lifetime member of the Masonic Temple and the Kerbela Temple Shrine. He was a retired engineer from Tampa Electric Company.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Jon Darren Reed.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mari Rice; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ridge Reed of Gatlinburg; Susan and Fred Robinson of Maryville; grandson, Mark Robinson of Maryville.
Memorial services will be private and the family requests no flowers. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Colonial Hills Nursing Home where he was treated with love and dignity for the past 4 years. Arrangements by Dotson Funeral Home, Wildwood. (865-984-5959)

GLENDA GERALDINE `JERRY' TALLENT
Glenda Geraldine (Jerry) Tallent -- age 71 of the Glendale Community in Lenior City, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Geraldine retired from Yale Security after 29 years service. preceded in death by daughter, Connie Bass; parents, Tilmon and Mallie Moddox. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Ross Tallent; daughter, Donna Richesin and husband, Gary of Sweetwater; son-in-law, Larry Bass of Greenback; 4 beloved granddaughters, Abby, Scarlet and Haley Bass, Hollie Ledford all of Greenback; sisters, Audrey Edwards of Lenior City and Shirley McNeeley of Greenback; several nieces, nephews and a very special friend, Linda Clark. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City with funeral servcies to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Dean Bandy and Rev. John Russell officiating. Family and friends will gather at Click Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. Monday and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for 11 a.m. graveside servcies. Click Funeral Home, Lenior City is serving the family of Geraldine Tallent.
