Wilma J. Chapman, age 60, of Marietta, GA, formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday morning, March 30, 2004 at Kennestone Wellstar Hospital in Marietta, GA. preceded in death by parents, Roy and Ada Ogle Ledbetter; and brother, Raymond Ledbetter. SURVIVORS include her son, Gregory Lynn Ledbetter of Acworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Angela and Tommy Chase of Douglasville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Malissa Chapman of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Emily, Austin, Cory, Brandon, and Kayla; nine brothers; and several nieces and nephews. Franklin A. Coleman, age 74 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004, at his home. He was retired from United Airlines and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank B. and Mary Matthews Coleman; and sister, Marianne Bishop.
Survivors include his wife, Marian B. Coleman; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Chip and Dianne Beightol of Alcoa, Dave and Margaret Gaddis of Commerce, GA; stepson, Danny Gaddis of Haines City, FL; step-granddaughter, Melissa Beightol; 5 step-granddaughters; one stepgrandson; brother, Matthew Coleman of Walland; several nieces and nephews.

Metta Farr Everett, age 83 of Greenback died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Metta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Greenback and also an avid golfer and member of Royal Oaks Country Club. She spent the last 20 years trying to get CSX Railroad to put in cattle crossing to their landlocked property. preceded in death by: husband, Woody Everett; father, Walter Farr; sister, Marg Boyd; brother, John Farr. Alta F. Leamon, (Mrs. C.E.), age 87 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Armona Baptist Church and the daughter of the late William R. and Mary E. Settlemire. preceded in death by: husband, Clarence E. Leamon of 64 years. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Glenna Leamon of Knoxville; daughter, Wanda F. Smith of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Rodney Nelson of Robbinsville, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew. He retired from the University of Tennessee Medical Center Purchasing Department as an Associate Executive Director. GEORGE WELTON WIGGINS
George Welton Wiggins, born July 10, 1927 in Dawson, GA to George Simpson and Minnie Mae Earwood Wiggins, lost his brief battle with cancer on March 30, 2004 but won eternal victory through his faith in Jesus Christ. A U.S. Army veteran, George was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in the Maryville office and a longstanding member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. Above all he loved his family and his Lord. In addition to his parents, Welton was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Walter, and a grandson, Tommy McCoig. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgia Kendrick Wiggins; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Tom McCoig of Maryville, Kay and Richard Oxford of Chagrin Falls, OH, Kristi and Joe Baer of Snellville, GA, and Kelly Wiggins and Gus Webb of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law Kevin and Sandy Wiggins of Maryville and Kenny and Donna Wiggins of Alcoa; grandchildren: Ryan, Jared, and Micah McCoig; Lucy, Kevin, Jr. and Jonathan Wiggins; Katie and Cody Wiggins; Kendrick and Georgeanna Oxford; Marissa and Natalie Baer; Callaway and Taylor Webb; one great-grandchild, Layla Wiggins; sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha and L.A. Mary B. Anderson, age 93 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Madisonville and a longtime supporter of the public library system having served at both local and regional board levels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Anderson and granddaughter-in-law Kathy Anderson.
She is survived by her son and wife, Townie and Jeannie Anderson; grandson, Chuck Anderson; grandson and wife, Joe and Mary Jane Anderson; great-grandsons, Joe-Joe Anderson and Reid Walker; cousin, Hopie Mays; and dedicated caregivers, Linda Wade and Missy Kirkland.

She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 58 years and Past Matron of Mary Blount OES 133. She was preceded in death by husband, William Alvin Brown; parents, William A. and Mary Elizabeth Brown; brothers, Frank, Ralph, and Raymond Meade; sister, Louise Devine.
Survivors include: daughter, Mary Mills; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Bud Davis, Billie and Don Baxter; grandchildren, Billie Mills, Kitty Morgan, Mike, Bobby, and David Mills, Nancy Allmon, Doug Davis, Mary Day, Betty McKenzie, and Richard Saunders; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
