RUTH HENRY GRAY
Ruth Henry Gray, 85, widow of T.C. Gray, Jr., died January 3 2001, at El Camino Hospital in Sunnyvale, CA, after a short illness. A native of Maryville, Mrs. Gray was active in Girl Scouting, the Chilhowee Club, Community Theater at Maryville College and First United Methodist Church of Alcoa. She relocated to Sunnyvale in 1994.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Hughes and son-in-law, Gordon Hughes of Palo Alto, CA, Martha Yund and son-in-law, Jeff Yund of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Gretchen Schroeder of Redwood City, CA, Kurt Schroeder of San Francisco, CA, Sara Hughes of Bauru, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Jason Hughes of Louisville, KY, and Karen Haggerty of Oakland, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 11.00 a.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Green officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to First United Methodist Church of Alcoa, 617 Gilbert, Alcoa, TN 37701. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.

IVA WILLIAMS WALTERS
Iva Williams Walters, age 88 of Knoxville, died Monday, January 8, 2001, at Windwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include: niece, Vivian Williams Bray of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Florence H. Williams of Maryville; great-niece and nephew; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Roger and Shirley Walters, John and Peggy Walters; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Jean and Allen Fisher.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bakers Creek cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. L.G. Hutchens officiating. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in charge.

MORGAN, JEWELL H.,
2001-01-10
69, Friendsville, died Monday, Jan. 8, at the family home.
Survivors: sons, Jackie Morgan, Friendsville, Steve Morgan, Friendsville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sister, Faye Smith, Sevierville.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Grove Methodist Church cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GALL, ESTELLE ZDZIEBLO, 84, Rockford, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, at her home.
She was employed by General Electric for more than 30 years in New York.
Survivors: brother, Ted Zdzieblo of Erwin; sisters, Helen Lippencott of New Jersey, Mary Zaremba of Watchung, N.Y.
No services will be held.

GRADY, BRIGETTE, 33, Fayeteville, died Jan. 8 in Nashville.
Survivors: children, Charles Lavelle, Annisha, Deontrey, and Charlotte; mother, Carol Stewart; stepfather, Douglas Stewart; father, Stephen C. Grady, Georgia; brother, Oronde (O.J.), Greeneville; sister, Tanaya Grady, Los Angeles; stepbrother, Douglas Stewart Jr.; husband, Scott Burchette; grandparents, Claude and Peggy Liggin of Kokomo, Ind.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Alcoa, with the family receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. The body may be viewed after 1 p.m. today at Foothills Funeral Home.

HELTON, ALVIN E., 74, Taylor, Mich., died Sunday, Jan. 7, in Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Mich.
He was a retired Dock Foreman for the Roadway Express Trucking Co.
Survivors: Genivive Warman Helton, Taylor; daughters, Genell Mills of Barbourville, Ky., Brenda McNally, Maryville, Sandra Staples, Sterling Heights, Mich., Diana Smiddy, Union, Ky., Judy West, Barbourville, Ky., Mary Ellen Copley, Detroit; sons, Jerry Helton, Jupiter, Fla., Bob Warman South Gate, Mich., Ron Allen, Taylor, Alvin Lee Helton, Detroit; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Clifton Helton, Corbin, Ky., Doug Helton, Barbourville, Charles Helton, London, Ky.; sisters, Carolyn Smith, London, Doris Carty, Middletown, Ohio, Janice Kinman, Indianapolis, Barbara Evans, Ontario, Canada.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel 1 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Helton cemetery at Cranes Nest.
The family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home, Barbourville, from 6-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service.

MARSHALL, DOROTHY ALEXANDER HUFF, 95, Maryville, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center.
Survivors: daughter, Virginia Marshall Ramsey, Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle Huff, Maryville.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

SPARKS, ANNA JACQUELINE, 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was an artist and art teacher.
Survivors: husband, Don C. Sparks; sons, Robert Burnett, Washington, Joe Gipson and Phil Gipson, both of California; daughters, Cindy Bethuy Goodlettsville, Donna Vago, Washington, Leona Sparks, California, Alice Sparks, Knoxville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Alice Joyce Stauff and Laverne Caruso, both of California.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary.

ARMSTRONG, BEA,

95, Alcoa, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Maryville Healthcare Nursing Home. She was a retired school teacher with the Knox County Schools.
Survivors: daughter, Donna Huffstetler of Maryville; sons, Bill Armstrong of Kodak, Beattie Armstrong of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Lucille Boyd of Knoxville; five grandsons; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at McCarty's Evergreen Chapel, Knoxville, and proceed to Caledonia cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. The Armstrong family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

RAINWATER, JR., H.P., 78, Maryville, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Survivors: wife, Louise Myers Rainwater; daughters, Gerry Grindstaff and Shirley Stinnett, both of Maryville; sons, Pete Rainwater of Austin, Texas, Randy Rainwater of Maryville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Edwards of Maryville, Faye Harper of Nashville.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment to immediately follow the service. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home.

TEASTER, REV. JACKIE RAY, 41, Sevierville, died Wednesday, Jan. 10. He was the owner of Rocky Top Kitchens in Sevierville.
Survivors: wife, Novella Teaster of Sevierville; sons, Christopher Teaster, Chad Teaster; parents, Shirley and Mary Alice Teaster, of Sevierville; brother, Larry Teaster of Townsend; twin sister, Vickie Frye of Sevierville; sister, Cynthia McMillen of Dickson.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Interment will follow in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

HAMIL, DOROTHY E., 83, Maryville, died Thursday, Jan. 11, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home.
Survivors: husband, John R. Hamil; son, Don Hamil; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Jim Miller and Bob Miller; sisters, Carol Ann Law, Betty Hoglen, Juanita Hammond and Mattie Johnston, all of Maryville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

CLEGG, ANGIE BUFFINGTON, 82, Louisville, died Friday, Jan. 12, at the family home.
Survivors: sons, Ishmael Harmon of Alcoa, Gaylon Harmon of Springfield, Melvin Harmon of Louisville, Tracy Harmon of Louisville; daughters, Marie Holder of Maryville, June Colvin of Georgia, Gail Debuty of Louisville, Linda Millsaps of Louisville, Geneva of Louisville; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lucille Collins of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

HUNTER, MATTIE G., 85, Maryville, died Thursday, Jan. 11, at Maryville Healthcare Center.
Survivors include: sons, George Taylor Hunter Jr. of Vonore; daughters, Linda Hunter, Leona Skidmore of Maryville and Mona Swayze of Michigan; 19 grandchildren; sister, Parlie Turner.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at Smith Mortuary. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday at the mortuary.
