Lyle Baxter Isbill, age 91, of 107 Church St., Vonore, passed away 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at the family home. preceded in death by wife of 66 years, Sina Mae Webb Isbill; parents, John and Effie Moser Isbill; sisters, Geneva Brakebill, Hazel Rainwater; brothers, Max and Glenn Isbill.
Member of Vonore United Methodist Church since 1922. A carpenter by trade and an avid hunter and outdoorsman who truly appreciated the beauty of God's world. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Served as a source of historical knowledge for local historians.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Lila Mae and Bob Eby, Maryville; sons and daughter-in-law, Fred and Linda Isbill, Maryville, Frank Isbill, Vonore; grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Susan Basile Isbill, Atlanta, Ga., Candace Isbill and Kenne Hicks, Vonore, Kerry Robert and Shannon Stavely Eby, Woodstock, Ga., Valerie Eby and Mark Blackburn, Franklin; great-grandchildren, Lucas Isbill, Atlanta, Ga., Zachery Hicks, Vonore, Duncan Eby, Woodstock, Ga., Mason Blackburn, Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral 8 p.m. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Darryll Rasnake and Rev. Jarvis Bivens officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, Vonore Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vonore Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146 or to the Vonore Baptist Church, P.O. Box 64, Vonore, TN 37885. Active Pallbearers will be Robbie Lovingood, Wil Kinton, Jeff Wells, Fred Tallent, Charles Anthony and Herb Carithers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bernard Jenkins, Roy Davis, Charles Ray, Johnny Lowry, Ray Frank, Wayne Thomas, Elmer Carey and Tom Miller. VANDA RUTH RODGERS KINEMAN
Vanda Ruth Rodgers Kineman, age 78, unexpectedly died in Sun City West, Arizona on Monday, March 3, 2003. She attended Johnson Bible College; graduated from UT; and was a retired teacher from the Knox County School System. Member of Christ's Church of the Valley, Peoria, Arizona.
Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence Neal and Mary Perkins Rodgers; and brother, Gerald Rodgers.
She is survived by husband, Lanis Kineman of Sun City West and Anderson, Indiana; sister and brother-in-law, Eldonna Rodgers and Harold Ray; nieces, Denise Rodgers, Danita Ray (Kurt) Parker; nephews, Larry (Pennie) and Terry (Maggie) Ray; 8 great-nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Larry (Debbie) Kineman of England, David (Vivian) Kineman of Maryville, Kathy Ralph of Gilbert, Arizona, Janet (Bob) Windham of Anderson, Indiana; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Berry Chapel, with Dr. David Eubanks, Kurt Parker, and Harold G. Ray officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at Berry Funeral Home and go in procession to Woodlawn cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. RALPH LEE SR.
Elder Ralph Lee Sr., age 56, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 after a brief four month bout with AML Type m7 Leukemia at the Blount Memorial Hospital. Elder Lee has served as the pastor of Maryville Church of God in Maryville since 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 37 years Carolyn G. Lee; 4 children, Tammie (Michael Sr.), McElwee, Ralph Jr. (Towanna) Lee, Candice (Phillip) Kidd, and Brian Lee; grandchildren, Kaleb, Joel, Michelle, Robbie, Micheal Jr., and Daija McElwee; mother-in-law, Mattie Gillenwaters. Surviving siblings are Richard Lee Jr., Sherry Lee and Mary Womble; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 178 Bessie Harvey Ave. in Alcoa with Elder Charles Harris officiating and Elder John W. Batts Jr. delivering the Eulogy. Viewing after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Maryville Church of God with the family receiving friends at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa. Arrangements by Foothills Funeral Home.
GEORGE WASHINGTON WALKER
George Washington Walker, age 79, of Rockford, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Porter High School and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Retired from General Motors, Fisher Body of Willow Springs, Illinois with 28 years of service. Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Preceded in death by parents, Barney and Fannie Mae Walker; several brothers and sisters.
Survived by beloved wife of 48 years, Patsy Sue Thompson Walker; sons, Michael Walker, Alan Walker, and Warren Walker; daughters, Tammie Walker and Anna Williams; grandchildren, Travis and Taylor Williams; brothers, Ira (Wendy), Calvin, Charlie, and Buck Walker; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. on Saturday, Berry Chapel, with Rev. George Ott, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet at Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery for graveside services at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Full military honors will be provided by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Edith L. Burns, age 89 of Townsend, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Shannondale Healthcare of Knoxville. She was a member of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church in Townsend.
Preceded in death by: husband, Hubert Burns. David L. Hawk, 60, of 5625 Simpson Rd., Loudon died suddenly Monday. David was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, Madisonville. preceded in death by father, C. F. Hawk.

Stella Evelyn Tilley, age 81 of Alcoa, departed this life Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the family home.
Preceded in death by husband, Lee W. Tilley; daughter, Barbara (Bobbie) Holden; parents, Ollie and Lydia Gibson; and brother, Gene Gibson.

Ellen Susan Caylor, age 88 of Townsend died Sunday, March 2, 2003. She was a faithful member of Caylors Chapel Baptist Church in Townsend for over 60 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Jackson and Martha Lane Caylor; stepmother, Bertha Rathbone Caylor; brothers, Bill, Dee, Henry, Roy, and George Caylor; sisters, Hester Woodby, Lizzie Webb, and Eva Woodby.
Survivors include: sister, Ivalee Ownby of Sevierville; special cousins, David J. Clabough and Carol Massaro of Maryville; nieces, Mabel Ellis of Sevierville; Nellie Lail of Alcoa, Estella Caylor, Allie Hannah, and Lillie Webb of Townsend.
Family will receive friends at Caylors Chapel Baptist Church in Townsend from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Jones and Jack Hitch officiating. Danny O'Dell Younce, age 57 of Maryville passed away Sunday evening, March 2, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Retired from the state of Tennessee with 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Anna Younce; brother, Jack Younce; father-in-law, Bobby Brewer.
Survivors: wife, Debra Brewer Younce; daughter and son-in-law, Dusty and William Snodgrass of Tellico Plains; son, Douglas Younce and fiancee, Chasity Walton both of Maryville; granddaughter, Hanna Snodgrass; and 1 grandchild on the way; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Lloyd Dillingham of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Ruby Younce of Louisville; John and Eva Younce of Maryville, Glenn and Patricia Younce of Maryville; mother-in-law, Ruth 'Sissy' Williams of Maryville; sister-in-law, Kathy Brewer of Louisville; brother-in-law, Richard Brewer of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.

THELMA L. BACON
Thelma L. Bacon, age 79 of Greenback, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by husband, Hubert E. Bacon Sr.; parents, Richard and Dora Petty; brothers, Claude and Bruce Petty; and sister, Lucille Moore.
Survivors include children and spouses, Mary and Jim Dodson of Maryville, Hubert Jr. and Charlotte Bacon of Greenback, Barbara and Harold Lee of Greenback, Rick and Darlene Bacon of Moorsburg, TN., Jeanine Davis and Cliff Hall of Etowah, Rita Deneen and Robert Brooks of Greenback; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Carrie Mae Brown of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews.

DONNIE RAY CARR
Donnie Ray Carr, age 79 of South Knoxville, died Monday, February 24, 2003 at the family home.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ruth Carr; grandson, James Audiss; great-grandson, Cameron Audiss.
Survivors include his son, James Donald Carr of California; daughter and son-in-law Barbara Jean and E. W. McDonald of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Judy Lorain Carr of Knoxville; grandchildren, Judy Lynn and husband, Sam Larson, Laura and husband Patrick Thacker, Barbara Fleming, Tina Iversen, Gregory Audiss, and Shellean Audiss; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Alex, Cody, Jessica, James, Joshua, Cassandra Amber, Andrea, Hassen, Kanari, Jojana, Christian, and Shelby; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; former wife, Shirley Lorain Audiss.

Kathryn Byrd Hodges, age 77, of South Knoxville passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003 at her home. Member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for the past 40 years. preceded in death by son, Ralph M. Hodges, Jr.; and brothers R.J. and Ernest Byrd.
Survived by: husband of 51 years, Ralph M. Hodges, Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Tom Davis, Cumming, GA, Charlene and Doug Raulerson, Apopka, FL; son, J.R. Hodges, Knoxville; grandchildren, Clay Chalfant, Rusty and Jason Dooley, Douglas, Stacy Jennifer, Victoria Kathryn Raulerson; great-grandchildren, Davis Chalfant, Savannah and Rebecca Dooley; also a loving sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
