JOHN GLEN HURST
John Glen Hurst crossed over to the gardens of glory on March 12, 2003 at the home of his son in Maryville. He was 82. He retired from the Operating Engineers, after working on projects including the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona. For many years he was a road grader for Clay County, TX. He was an avid gardener and sportsman. He was a member of Thornberry Baptist Church in Thornberry, TX.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 62 years: Laura, son and daughter-in-law: Randy & Lynne Hurst, granddaughter and husband: Anna & Chris Mitchell, great-granddaughters: Hailey and Lauren Mitchell, sisters: Ina Reeves, Faye Johnson, Geneva Howell, brother and sister-in-law: Dale & Laverne Hurst.
He was preceded in death by brother Irving Hurst.
A Memorial service was held at Thornberry Baptist Church, in Thornberry TX, on Mar 13, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. Family and friends will meet at Magnolia cemetery in Maryville at 12:00 Noon Monday March 17, 2003 for a graveside funeral service. Memorial Funeral Home Maryville is in charge of arrangements.
SAMUEL MARCUS `S.M.' MCCLANAHAN JR.
Samuel Marcus (S.M.) McClanahan Jr. of Maryville passed away Wednesday at 11:30 PM at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He served in World War II and retired from KUB after 32 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville. preceded in death by: Parents, Samuel and Nola McClanahan; Sister, Troy McNeilly. He is loved and dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Ann; Son and Daughter-in-law, Sam and Nancy McClanahan of Atlanta, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Monroe of Maryville; Son and Daughter-in-law, Doug and Jan McClanahan of Nashville, TN; Six grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Henderson McClanahan and Ivan H. McClanahan both of Maryville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM Friday, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville with Rev. Raymond Burnett and Rev. Henry Chiles officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the entombment. REBA COCHRAN
Reba Cochran went to be with the Lord March 12, 2003. Reba was born February 16, 1926 near Greenback TN. She lived 31 years in Birmingham Alabama where she was an active member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Reba was an accomplished painter and was active in the Hoover Alabama Art Association.
Preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Mary Kate Millsaps; twin sister, Ruby Millsaps Sanders; brothers, Edward and Joe Millsaps; and sister-in-law Maxine Allen.
Survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Norman Cochran of Tucson, AZ; son, Brian Cochran; daughter-in-law, Susan Cochran; granddaughter Kathleen Cochran of Tucson AZ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Audley Johnson, Knoxville, TN, Mary Charles and Nelse (Junior) Wilson, Greenback, TN, Faye and Michael Garner, Waterloo, AL; sister-in-law, Joann Millsaps, Greenback, TN; brothers-in-law, Fred Sanders of Lenoir City, TN, Dr. Robert Allen, Alton, Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Betty Cochran of Kingston, TN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

ORA OLIVER HALK
Ora Oliver Halk, age 78 of Maryville formerly of Seymour passed away Wednesday evening, March 12, 2003 at Asbury Place of Maryville. preceded in death by parents, brothers and sisters.
Survivors: wife of 59 years, Ruth Free Halk; nephews, Randy Hanson of Alcoa, Tim Hanson of Walland, Billy Breeden, Bobby Breeden both of Richmond, Va., Charles Breeden, Jimmy Breeden both of Maryville, Glen Owens of Philadelphia, TN, Gene Owens of Greenback, David Ogle of Knoxville, Ray Breeden of Friendsville; special friends and caretaker, Becky and Ron Free of Seymour and his baby Erin.
Family and friends will meet at Holston College cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003 for graveside service and interment Rev. Charlie Thomas officiating. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses at Asbury Place for all their help and support. James E. Lethco, 57 of Fultonham, NY, passed away March 9, 2003. preceded in death by parents, James T. and Hazel Lethco; brother, George E. Lethco, Sr.
Survived by wife, Katherine Lethco; daughter, Judy Mann; sons, Zachary Lethco, James Lethco, all of NY; sister, Joyce Brown, Knoxville; nephews, George E. Lethco, and Steven W. Brown, both of Louisville.

SIDNEY LEE LEWIS
Sidney Lee Lewis, 46, died Wednesday, March 12 from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was born September 2, 1956 in Mullins, SC, a son of Henry and Ruth Rabon Lewis. Mr. Lewis worked in construction and was a loving son, father, and brother.
Survivors, in addition to his parents of Loris, include his girlfriend, Terri Snodgrass of Loris, SC; two sons, Sid 'Junior' Lewis of Summerville, SC and Joe Snodgrass of Loris; two daughters, Mandy Killiri and her husband, Frank, of Summerville and Paige Lewis of Maryville, TN; a brother, William Lewis and his wife, Ruthie of Dorchester, SC; and three sisters, Glenda Houge and her husband, Michael, of Beaufort, Linda Templeton and her husband, James of Summerville, and Debbie Boyd and her husband, Ricky of Aynor.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Palmetto Funeral Home in Conway, SC with Rev. D. J. Boyd and Rev. Kenny Baxley officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Southern Methodist Church cemetery in Aynor. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

ELMER LEE REAGAN
Elmer Lee Reagan age 83 of Townsend, passed away Tuesday night, March 11, 2003. He was of the Baptist Faith, retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 year club and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. He was born and raised in Townsend. preceded in death by parents, Aaron and Alice Reagan, brothers, Stanley Reagan and Ollie Reagan; sister, Hazel Tipton.
Survivors include his wonderful wife of 54 years, Mary Irene Tipton Reagan; and loving daughter, Brenda Reagan of Maryville; sister, Rose Young of Kentucky; nephews, Don Tipton, Roy Young, Lowell Yates, Lee Yates, Howard Yates, Gene Reagan, John Reagan and James Reagan; nieces, Nila Buchanan, Helen Young and Linda Reagan. Many thanks to all the workers at Buckeye Quality Home Health Care for all their services and help during his illness and to Jeann Potter for all the help she gave.

Survived by mother, Daisy Cox Thomas; brother, Gordon A. Thomas Jr. and wife Sherry, of Alabama; sisters, Carolyn Walker and husband Fred, of Maryville, Becky Jenkins and husband Dane, of Maryville; nephews, Trey Walker and Tyler Thomas; nieces, Millicent Thomas, Emily Walker, Andrea Thomas, and Abigail Walker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon A. Thomas Sr.; grandparents, L.V. and Adline Cox, Maryville; George Thomas and Bess Thomas, of Tellico Plains.

BARBARA BALLENGER TIMKO
Barbara Ballenger Timko, age 70, of Knoxville passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Chapel and coordinator of Young at Heart Seniors Ministry. Retired from the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Preceded in death by husband, Robert Timko.
She is survived by fiance', Ralph Perrin; children, Cheryl Collette and husband, Alan of Knoxville, Angela Harmon and husband Alan of Memphis, Randall A. Timko of Knoxville, Michael A. Timko and wife, Stacy of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Valerie and Kendra Harmon, Rachel, Jacob, and Caleb Collette, Austin and Kendall Timko, Caitlyn and Taylor Timko; sister, Jerrye McCorkle and husband, Jim of Dandridge; brother, Richard Ballenger and wife, Barbara of Dandridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Sibyl Laverne Bright, age 61 of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Alcoa-Maryville Church of God and was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Bonds; father, Johnny Bonds; brother, James Bonds.
Survivors include: husband, Ray Bright; daughters, Wendy Birchfield and Kaylen Bright; sons, Bobby, Allen, Kenny, Steve and Marty Bright all of Maryville; 19 grandchildren; brothers, Edward Bonds of IL and Johnny Bonds of SC; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Henderson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Little Toqua cemetery in Vonore for the interment service.
