Clayton Heck, age 83 of Maryville died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He retired from ALCOA and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II.
Preceded in death by parents, Tillman and Kate M. Heck; brother, Nathaniel Heck.
Survivors include wife of 61 years, Luna Heck; son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Sharon Heck of Seymour; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Vic McClanahan of Maryville; grandchildren, Hollie and Tim Hissam, Brad Delozier, Vic and Kendra McClanahan; brother, Frank Heck of Speedwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Olen and Beulah Heck, T.H. and Wanda Heck all of Speedwell, Aaron and Bea Heck, of Jacksboro; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and LeRoy Hall of Cadiz, KY; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Smith Mortuary with Rev. Lowell Wright and Rev. Bob Owens officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Grandview cemetery for the Entombment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Smith Mortuary, Maryville 983-1000

KYLE BLEVINS
Kyle Blevins, age 70 of Maryville, passed away March 28, 2003 at his home. Former owner of Nina's Plants on John Sevier Highway. Member of Tipton Station Church of Christ. Veteran of US Air Force. preceded in death by: son, Kenny Blevins; parents and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors: wife of 46 years, Nina Blevins; stepson, Michael Debusk of Walland; stepdaughter, Judy Stephens of Illinois; son, Robert Blevins and wife Gail of Strawberry Plains; daughter, Madonna Huskey and husband Ronnie of Maryville; sons, David Blevins and wife Wanda of Maryville, Bruce Blevins and wife Kim of Kodak; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Opie Lee Blevins of Hendersonville, TN; sister, Betty Humphrey of Johnson City, TN.
Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tipton Station Church of Christ. Rev. Dennis Murphy and Rev. Eric Bonner officiating. Interment at Henry Haynes Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

CHARLES D. PICKEL
Charles D. Pickel, age 86 of Maryville, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church Friendsville and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a longtime news director of WEAG Radio in Alcoa and in the 1930's he helped popularize country music and entertained with Archie Campbell and Homer and Jethro.
Preceded in death by: wife, Marie S. Pickel; mother, Ella Mae Madron.
Survivors include: son, Michael Pickel and Fiancé Tammy Skyles of Walland, TN; daughter, Debbie Ashe and friend Paul Palmer of Knoxville; son, James Pickel and wife Brenda of California; grandchildren, Michael Ashe, Christy and husband Ralph Nelson, Cathy Lockard, Tina Potter, Shirley Nanny, Jed Pickel, Jenny Pickel, Lisa Pickel and Brian Pickel; many great-grandchildren; special friends, Carolyn Hester, Curtis Ashe, and Libby Sadler.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2003 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Mark Grubb officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. Friends may call at their convenience after 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2003 at Smith Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2003, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

GARVIN WAYNE SCRUGGS
Garvin Wayne Scruggs, age 51 of Greenback, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the family home. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was bass player for the gospel group "The Anchormen". preceded in death by father, Garvin Scruggs; second mother, Lois Scruggs; mother, Ruby Ciseranos; and brother, Benny Scruggs.
Survivors include wife, Gail Nichols Scruggs; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Marcus Ott of Greenback, Tonya and Keith Franklin of Virginia; daughter, Shanne Scruggs of South Carolina; grandchildren, Cricket, Cody and Robbie Lee; sister, Kim Chandelier and family of South Carolina; brother, Lane Scruggs and family of California; many other family members and friends and many thanks to the Anchormen family.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Harold Robbins and Rev. Harrison Hill officiating. Interment 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Kyle Blevins

Lucille R. Dunlap
Lucille R. Dunlap, age 89, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003 at North Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. preceded in death by husband, Clyde H. Dunlap.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Roy Hembree; grandson and wife, Randy and Linda Hembree; great-granddaughter, Katie Hembree; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Carl Oakes officiating. Friends may call at their convenience on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Joan Carolyn Frye
Joan Carolyn Frye, age 60, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003.
She is survived by husband, Franklin Delmo Frye. Children, Judy, Jean, Nancy and Daniel. Mother, Margaret Hunley, Brothers and sisters, Don, Ron, Kenny, Blanche and Sandy. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and a special thanks to all her co-workers at Ft. Sanders Select Specialty Hospital where she worked and also passed away from.
Family and friends will meet at 11:45 a.m. Monday at Greenwood cemetery for a 12:00 noon graveside service with Rev. J.A. Lettner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home.

Allison H. "Sonny" Keeble Sr
Allison H. "Sonny" Keeble Sr., Age 88 of Maryville, passed away Friday March 28th, 2003 at U.T. Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville, He was retired from ALCOA and a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club, Blount County Court, Blount Memorial Hospital Board, and Judge Pro. Tem.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Keeble; son and daughter-in-law, Allison and Marion Keeble Jr., of Ringgold, GA; son, Phillip Keeble, of Maryville; grandchildren, Allison Keeble III and wife Melissa, of Nashville and Pat Keeble, of California; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and J.C. Everhart, of Maryville, Dorothy and H.A. Scott Jr., of Lynchburg, VA; brother, Harold V. Keeble, of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, John and Belva Keeble, of Columbia, SC.
Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard and Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Monday in Grandview Cemetery.

Nellie Huskey Locke
Nellie Huskey Locke, age 81, passed away March 27, 2003. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Don L. Locke. Sister: Blanche Rucks. Brother: Burl Huskey.
Survivors: Sons: Raymond wife Beverly Patty of GA. Donald and wife Paricia Patty of OH. Daughter: Sandra Husband Edward "Butch" Donahue of OH. Stepchildren: Don P Locke of KY. Pat Pearson of TX. Grandchildren: 6, Great-Grandchildren: 14. Brothers: Eugene Huskey, John Huskey. Sisters: Velma Hood, Buelah Huskey, Vita Patty, Ruth Tipton, Ina Tipton, Merle Williamson, Shirley Couch, And Lois Hatfield.
Family will receive friends Saturday March 29th 2003 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be at 2:30 Sunday at Oak View Baptist Church with The Rev. Glenn Gamble Officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mary Huskey Loveday
Mary Huskey Loveday, age 94 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Maryville Health Care. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Josie Rayfield Huskey; daughter, Wanda Faye Harrill.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Alma and Kenneth Williams, of Maryville; grandchildren, Ken Williams, Lisa Campbell, Mary Ruth Harrill, Bill Harrill, and Michelle Lamb; several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Grandview cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville 982-6812..

Julia Sue Morrow
Julia Sue Morrow, age 92 of Maryville died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of Cades Cove Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Preceded in death by: husband, Julian Morrow; parents, David and Julia Thompson; sons, David Morrow and Dan Morrow; daughter, Ellen Fox.
Survivors include: sons, Bill Morrow of Lenoir City, Jerry Morrow of Maryville, and Hoyle Morrow of Knoxville; daughter, Faye Ingle of Maryville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Flora Atchley, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. preceded in death by: Parents, Harvey and Mary Jane Vaughn. Brothers, Charlie, Clifford, Harvey Jr., Oscar, Leonard, Peyer, and Elmer Vaughn. Sister, Anna Bell.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Fred Jr. and Jane Atchley of Rockford. Daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ray Ramsey of Sevierville. Grandchildren, Mark Atchley and wife Shelly, Ammi Knight, Ronnie Ramsey and wife Julie, Janice Murphy and husband David. 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Special beloved friend, Lillian Shields of Maryville.
