William S. Nichols, departed this life, January 15, 2003. He was preceded in death by wives, Ola Nichols and Emma Nichols; parents, Anderson Nichols, Texas Stokes; and stepfather, Doss Stokes.
He leaves to mourn devoted daughters, Carolyn Smithers, Whitney Smithers; stepchildren, Rose Blair, Cincinnati, Ohio, Raymond Henderson, Alcoa, TN, Herbert Henderson, Saudi Arabia; grandchildren, Deandre and Rashaun Owens, and Whitney Smithers; 14 stepgrandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great- great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ann Farr and Vivian Smith of Knoxville, TN. and Lucille Treece of Wilmington, Delaware; 1 brother, Howard Stokes of Morristown, TN, brother-in-law, Dean Simpson, Knoxville; 3 aunts, Louise Johnson, Nola Anderson and Odessa Fain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2003, with funeral service to follow in Jarnigan and Son Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Love officiating. Family and friends will assemble 5:00 p.m. Thursday at 1105 Dartmouth Road. Interment 11:00 a.m. Sherwood Memorial Cemetery. Jarnigan and Son Mortuary in charge.
BOBBY J. TAYLOR SR.
Bobby J. Taylor Sr., age 65 of Alcoa passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Joyce Ave. Wesleyan Methodist Church. He was employed by Aberdeen Police Force in Aberdeen, MD, for 15 years he has been a truck driver since then from 1975 to 1990 employed by Crete Carrier, Lincoln, NE. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 18 months in Korea. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Taylor Jr.; father Ernest W. Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye C. White Taylor; daughters, Anita Louise Duplantier, of Hawaii, and Cheryl Ann Honeycutt, of GA; sons, Kenneth A. Williams, of Brownsville, TX, and Gary Allen Williams, of Maryville; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; mother, Chrissie Bradburn, of Alcoa; daughter-in-law, Konnie Taylor, of Maryville; uncle and aunt, A.C. and Billie Cutshaw, of Maryville.
Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Daniel Mayhle officiating. The interment will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in Magnolia cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville 982-6812.
RACHEL V. WILLEMSSEN
Rachel V. Willemssen 81 of Maryville died Monday January 20, 2003, at her home in Maryville. She was born March 21, 1921, in Lyon County, Iowa. She was a long-time resident of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. (Johnny) Willemssen.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Smalley; and granddaughters, Vanessa and Lauren Smalley all of Maryville. The family expressed thanks to the staff, volunteers, and friends at Blount Memorial Hospice, and Home Health Services, and to her friends at Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
No local services are planned. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. CST Saturday at Memorial Park cemetery in Memphis. In lieu of flowers Rachel had requested memorials or contributions be made to Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church 1500 South Perkins Memphis, TN 38117.
VIRGIE M. OWNSBY BOSTICK
Virgie M. Ownsby Bostic, age 93 of Maryville passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003, at Maryville Health Care. She was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall Ownsby; second husband, John Bostic; son, Fred Ownsby; daughter, Imogene Anderson; grandson, Richard Anderson.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Grace Ownsby, of Maryville, J.D. and Wyonne Ownsby, of Greenback, and Ronald and Diane Ownsby, of Maryville; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nellie Caughron, of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Yearout, of Maryville.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brooky Gray officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Clarks Grove cemetery for the interment service.

Wanda Maebell Campbell, age 62, of Maryville passed away Monday morning January 20, 2003, at the family home. Member of Rocky Branch Holiness Church. She loved music and she loved her church. preceded in death by father, Lee Jennings.

KEMP WOODROW `WOODY' BELL
Kemp Woodrow "Woody" Bell, age 83 of Maryville passed away Saturday, January 18, 2002 at Asbury Acres Health Center. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from ALCOA and was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club. Mr. Bell was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Bell; son, Larry Bell; step-son, Joe Bill Cameron.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Cameron Bell; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Debbie Bell, of Chicago, Larry and Janet Bell, of Atlanta, Gary and Jackie Bell, of Louisville; daughter, Janice Williams, of California; 7 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Clara Bell, of Maryville.

HAROLD NATHAN DUGAN JR.
Harold Nathan Dugan Jr., age 76 of Rockford, passed away Friday, January 17, 2003. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a Sergeant 1st Class.
Survivors include wife, Mary Agnes Murphy Dugan and son Michael E. Dugan II.
Family and friends will meet at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for graveside service and interment, Rev. Chuck Young officiating.

JAMES W. `JIMMY' LANE
James W. "Jimmy" Lane - went to be with the Lord January 18, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a retired Master Sgt. From the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a semi-pro golfer and trophy winner from 1952 to 1979. Mr. Lane was also retired Asst. Manager of Weigle's Farm Stores on Kingston Pike after 14 years. Ashley Nicole Riddle, age 2 months 29 days went to be with her Heavenly Father in her sleep January 14, 2003. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Riddle; great-grandparents, Earl and Hazel Lawson, Martin and Hazel Jennings.
She is survived by her parents, Quinton and Jennifer Jennings Riddle; brother, James Ryan Riddle; grandparents, Toney and Linda Jennings all of Maryville, Karen and Jake Russell of Louisville; uncle, Gary Jennings, Todd and Kim Lawson, Rusty Ewing; several great uncles, aunts, cousins also survive. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Monday at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Heperley officiating, burial will follow in Piney Level Cemetery.
