OLIVE ELIZABETH CAMPEN SAIN
Olive Elizabeth Campen Sain, age 76 of Norris, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2002 at Lake City Health Care Center. She was born April 29, 1926 in Miami, Florida. She was a Graduate of Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. She later earned her B.S. from New York University and was one of the first graduates of the Vanderbilt Nurse Practitioner program. She was an inactive member of the Civil Air Patrol and earned her solo pilots license at age 19. She was active in nursing all of her adult life and earned her national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, retiring as an employee of Rural Health Clinic in Rogersville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by parents, Jed Parker Campen and Cora J. Arnold Campen; her husband, Thomas C. Sain; and brothers, Carl and Thomas Campen.
Survivors: daughters, Pat Sain Foster and husband Troy of Alcoa; sons, Robert Sain and wife Robin of Norris, Riley Sain and wife Sue of Clinton, Scott Sain and wife Pam of Norris; grandchildren, Lindy Kate Foster of Alcoa, Abby Sain of Norris, Andy Sain and wife Brenda of St. Petersburg, FL, Colby Elizabeth Sain of Norris, Alex and Dylan Sain of Norris, Daniel Thomas and Ericka Jean Sain of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Obed, Noah and Ethan Sain of St. Petersburg, FL.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, Tennessee. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.

FAYE SCARBROUGH
Faye Scarbrough, 76 of Panama City Fla., formerly of Maryville passed away Sunday, November 3, 2002.
Survivors include sons, Claude and Debra Scarbrough of Louisville, TN, Gene and Gennie Scarbrough of Panama City, Fla., Chuck and special friend Lynn of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in Panama City, final Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery.

JAMES H. WHALEY
James H. Whaley, age 84 of Maryville, passed away Monday morning, November 11, 2002 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Retired from Landmark, formerly International Harvester; veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII; preceded in death by son, Robert Lee Whaley.
Survivors: wife, Mary K. Whaley; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Barbara Whaley, Maryville, Kenneth and Mary Whaley, Louisville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Steve Terry, Maryville, Shirley and Joe McHarge, Rockford, Faye and Victor Wilhoite, Seymour; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren; brother, Don Whaley, Maryville; sisters, Christine Thomas and Mamie Smelcer, both of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; devoted friends and staff at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.
Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2002, Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Clay Mulford officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

JULIUS M. WILSON
Julius M. Wilson, age 75, died November 8, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by parents Rev. Albert and Leila Martin and husband Glen Ferguson Sr. and John M. Wilson Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories Dwight (Linda) Ferguson, Cheryl Ferguson, Gene (Sharon) Ferguson, of Alcoa, TN; Glendon (Alvin) Oliver of Nashville, TN; Rhonda (Robert) Mayberry of Atlanta, GA; Sharon (Tom) Dixon of Winchester, VA; Pamela (Tim) Keene of Detroit, MI; John (Susan) Wilson Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; Charlyane (Richard) Watkins of Pontiac, MI. Siblings; Albert Martin Jr. and James Martin of Nashville, TN; Maggie Whitted, Avery Martin, and Marva Reed of Alcoa, TN. Aunts, Jessie Crabtree of McMinnville, TN; Alma Macon of Ohio, and Livy D. Hall of MI; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Devoted caregivers Mary Jackson and Anne Dean of Alcoa, TN.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of God Maryville. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services. The remains may be viewed after 12 noon on Wednesday at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville.

HAMILTON, FLORA REBEKAH, 16, Walland, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002 at Fort Sanders Loudon Medical Center.
Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Ridge Independent Baptist Church on Carver Road.
Complete information will be announced later by Memorial Funeral Home.

HAMMONTREE, ROBERT L., 74, Greenback, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at the family home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Smith Mortuary. MURRELL, NANNIE B., 87, Newport, died Sunday, Nov. 10, at Life Care Center in Morristown. She was a retired teacher from the Alcoa City School System.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. today at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel. The family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Bryant cemetery for the 11 a.m. interment service.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home, Morristown.

PAYNE, LAURA, 72, Maryville, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

BERTHA COADA CABLE
Bertha Coada Cable, age 89 of Greenback, passed away November 9, 2002 at the family home. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and preceded in death by husband, William Barney Cable; son-in-law, Don Riden; grandsons, Donnie Riden and Casey Cope; and great grand daughter, April Evans. Survivors, son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Evelyn Cable of Greenback; daughter, Vonda Riden of Greenback; daughters and sons-in-law, Vearl and Adrain Ford and Wanda and Tyson Matoy all of Greenback; 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. and Mary Coada of Walland; brother-in-law, Robert "Buster" Cable of Maryville; sister-in-law, Coza Millsaps of Walland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Horace Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill cemetery for the interment service. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

GRACE SIMMONS MOORE
Grace Simmons Moore, age 94 of Maryville died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at Asbury Acres Health Center.
She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of Big Springs Presbyterian Church. She was active in the community benefit sales for the communities. She also played the piano for the Sunday school class. She was a retired school teacher. Simmons School was built in 1919 south of Big Springs on land which was part of the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Simmons. Their daughter Grace, was a student at the school, and later after graduating from Maryville College, she became a teacher there.
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Marion Grace Moore; and son, David R. Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Elisha B. Moore; and son and daughter-in-law, Don and Ruth Moore of Maryville; grandchildren, Barbara Bleidorn, Susan Gilday, Deborah Moore all of New Jersey, and Sharon John of Mass.; and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Musick officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. The interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Cemetery. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in charge.

TOMMY MORTON
Tommy Morton, age 60 of Greenback, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2002 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville after a long battle with cancer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and preceded in death by father, Cecil Morton.
Survivors, daughter, Tammi Morton of Greenback; grandsons, Joey Falencik and Matthew Falencik; granddaughter, Mikayla Vossler; mother, Bonnie Morton of Maryville; brother, James of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dennis Bettis of Maryville; aunt and uncle, Jack and Nellie; cousins, Don and Evelyn; niece, Jenny; nephews, Justin and Jacob. The family would like to extend a special thanks to friends, Jim, Claude, Amy Dean and Jennifer and also to all the staff at St. Mary's Hospice.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Lucille Potters-Vickers, Rev. Wayne Friday and Rev. Tommy Aspell officiating. Interment 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Clark's Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN. 37938. Friends may call at their convenience at the home of his sister, Carol Bettis. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

WILLIAM JESSE `W.J.' PRINCE
William Jesse (W.J.) Prince, age 94 of Alcoa died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Prudentia Masonic Lodge #719 since 1945. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. and was a member of the 25 year club. preceded in death by: parents, Alford Floyd and Arina Josephine Prince; seven brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include: wife, Mildred Prince; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jenean Prince of Louisville; daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Joe Barr of Maryland; grandchildren, William Brian Prince of Long Beach, CA., Amy R. McFall of Knoxville; sister, Ruby Sloan of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral and Masonic service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2002 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Dr. Doug Sager officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at National Headquarters, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, Ill. 60611-9501. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, Maryville.983-1000.

BOBBIE IRWIN SMITHERMAN
Bobbie Irwin Smitherman, age 51 of Alcoa died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at U. T. Hospital. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, and was a long time realtor for Nelson Realtor.
She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Irwin; and stepfather, Howard Russell.
She is survived by her husband, Marc Smitherman; son, Jake Alexander Smitherman; mother, Lola Irwin Russell of Maryville; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Leona and Jim Hargiss of Knoxville, Janice and Kevin Ivens of Maryville; and sister, Charlotte Vogel of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Von and Sandra Irwin of Dallas TX., and Kenneth and Donna Irwin of Maryville; mother and father-in-law, Philip and Mildred Smitherman of Floydada TX; and brother-in-law, Monty L. Smitherman of Silverton TX; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Dr. Emily Anderson, Dr. G. Kenneth Gates and Rev. Ralph Lee officiating. The interment will follow at Williamson Chapel Cemetery. Kevin Ivens, Richard Cate, Steve McCarty, Bud Shipley, Joe Wofford, and Neil Buckingham will be pall bearers. Howard Parker, Monty Smitherman, Rusty Roseberry, Bob Spears, Joe Bailey, Bill Evans, Greg Koob, Loren Riddick, David Keck, Junior Hess, Steve Dodson, Lee Ivens, David Carrol, Jon Irwin, Matt Vogel, Harold Bryant, and Harry DeNardo will serve as honorary pall bearers. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

JOHNNIE FAYE WOODRING
Johnnie Faye Woodring, age 69 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital. Ms. Woodring was the manager of the Graymere Country Club, Columbia, TN . for 8 years, and was retired from the Ramada Inn of Alcoa where she was General Manager for 13 years. She was currently employed with Dillards Department Store. She was a member of the Who's Who Business People Worldwide and Alcoa Rotary Club. She was a member of Praise Temple Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, N.C. and Ola Allred; and a daughter, Donna Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Brad) Rogers of Knoxville, Marla (Ken) Fyke of Jonesboro, GA., and Belinda Dye of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) Hollandsworth, Nikki Wylie, and Cody Rogers; great grandchildren, Blake Arseno, Courtney Hollandsworth, and Lauren Wylie; one sister, Kaye (J.R.) Moore of Hornbeak, TN.; one niece, Angela (Jeff) Riddle; and great niece and nephew, Shaina and Gage Riddle all of Samburg, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Praise Temple Assembly of God with Pastor Wayne Simmons, Assistant Pastor Jerry Smith, and Reverend Doug Simmons officiating. Family and friends will assemble on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at New Haven cemetery in Ridgely, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Church. Arrangements are by Smith Mortuary, Maryville. 983-1000.

FRED O. FRANKLIN
Fred O. Franklin, age 86 of Louisville, passed away Friday, November 8, 2002, at Maryville Healthcare Center. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church of Jasper, GA, was retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 Year Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Franklin.
Survivors include: stepdaughter, Peggy Waldroup of Louisville; sister, Ruth Crisp of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Allen and Dr. Neal McKenzie officiating. The interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
