B.W. Stargel, age 80 of Alcoa died Monday, November 25, 2002 at the family home. He retired from ALCOA as Inspector/Foreman from the North Plant. He attended Central Baptist Church in Alcoa. preceded in death by: parents, A.W. Stargel and Maude Stargel; brother, Charles Wesley Stargel.
Survivors include: wife, Tinnie Lee Stargel; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Alice Stargel of Louisville, TN and Wayne and Ginny Stargel of Lake Forest, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and James Hunter of Acworth, GA; brothers, Paul Stargel of Tate, GA and Floyd Pendley of Maryville; grandchildren, Teri and Kevin Correll, Erin Hunter, Ryan and Brandi Stargel, Charlie, Matt, and Sam Stargel; nieces and nephews, Jan Fox, Kenneth and Curt Stargel.

RAYMOND BRICKEY CABLE
Raymond Brickey Cable, 62 of Maryville died Friday November 22, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Arnold & Josephine Moore Cable.
He is survived by his wife of Twenty Nine years: Mary Ellen Keller Cable, Son and Daughter in law: Jason Lee & Sandy Cable, Grandson: Cody Lee Cable all of Maryville, Sister and Brother in law: Roberta & Claude Wagner of Rockwood, Barbara & Jimmy Patrick of Georgia, Brothers: William (Bill) Cable, Larry Dewayne Cable, several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services will be at 3:30 P.M. Sunday November 24, 2002 at Old Piney cemetery with Rev. Rex Everett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville.
MICHAEL ROBERT DAVIS
Michael Robert Davis, age 50 of Sweetwater, passed away Friday, November 22, 2002 at Sweetwater Hospital. preceded in death by parents, Charles and Wanda Mae Davis, grandparents, Bob Davis and Ruby Mae Webb Davis and brother, Charles James Davis.
Survivors: Children, Michael R. Davis Jr. and wife Tammey, Cindy D. Clabough and husband David, Diane Davis, and Jeffrey Dewayne Davis all of Maryville, and the children's mother, Beverly Davis; grandchildren, Tommy, Austin, Josh, Kristen, Emily, Ashley and Dustin; brother, Ronnie Davis of Oklahoma; fiancee, Patsey Pentecost of Sweetwater and several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Mr. Davis was cremated and memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
RUBY K. `KATE' STALANS
Ruby K. (Kate) Stalans, age 85 of Rockford, passed away Saturday morning, November 23, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by parents, Walter and Belva Harris' children, Joyce Everhart and Charles Edward Stalans' brother, Ralph Harris and sisters, Blanche Williams and Lena Tallent.
Survivors: Children, Jeanette Costner of Rockford, Betty Everhart and Debbie Welch both of Forest Park, Georgia, Leroy Stalans, Earl Stalans, Ron Stalans all of Illinois; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, George R. Harris of Monroe County; sister, Mayme Blair of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Doug White officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Clark's Grove cemetery for the interment service. Family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
Lawrence Huston 'L.H.' Boling
Lawrence Huston 'L.H.' Boling of Maryville, on Thursday, November 21, 2002 Jesus called him home. At the age of 71 he passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital. LH was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He served in the Army from 1952 through 1953 and was a member of the 101st Airborne. While in the Army, he was called "Tennessee" by his fellow comrades. He loved and enjoyed playing his harmonica and telling stories of all the people who he got to know. LH retired from Alcoa Aluminum Plant on May 31, 1992. On September 20, 1988 he became a member of the Alcoa 25 year club.
LH was preceded in death by: Parents, Elmer & Mable Boling of Maryville; Sister, Louise Tompkins of Knoxville; Mother- in-law and Father-in-law, Hettie and Alvin Rolen of Sevierville. Survivors include: Wife (his loving "Sweetie" of 48 years) Bonnie Sue Rolen Boling; Son, Lynn K. Boling; Daughter-in-law and Caregiver, Susan Boling; Daughter and Son-in-law, Karen & Chuck Walker; Grandchildren, Diane Walker and Rebecca Walker; Brothers, Kenneth Boling of Maryville and Bill Boling of Cincinatti, OH; Sisters, Mary Katherine Ludwig of Cincinnati, OH and Eula Williamson of Alexandria, KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2002 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Bill Hart officiating. L.B. `Buck' Ledford
L.B. 'Buck' Ledford age 80 of Maryville, passed away at home Friday, November 22, 2002. He was a devoted Pastor, Husband, and Father.
Survivors include: Devoted Christian wife, "Elva" of 60 years; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Billy & Betty Ledford of Kingston, TN, Roger & Milli of Walland, TN, David & Darlene of Maryville, TN; Daughters, Jeane and Kathy of Maryville; Seven Grandchildren, Cindy, Heather, Autumne, Shayne, Joshua, Manoah, Adam; Five Great-Grandchildren, Seth, Brianna, Lexie, Ethan and Christopher; also all of his church family at Morning Star Baptist Church and many, many friends.
He founded Victory Baptist Church on Montvale Road in Maryville which he pastored for seven years. He also founded and built Morning Star Baptist Church on East Lamar Alexander Parkway. He was pastor there for 38 years. Rev. Ledford's program "The Soul Winning Gospel Hour" aired on radio stations throughout the Southeast for 55 years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to his doctor "Dr. Stephen Pershing" and Blount Memorial Hospice for everything that was done during Mr. Ledford's illness.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Jenkins and Rev. C.M. Tidlow officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2002 at Grandview Cemetery. William B. `Bill' Robinson
William B. 'Bill' Robinson age 64 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee, Knoxville.
Preceded in death by parents: William Fred and Della M. Culberson Robinson; brother, Don Robinson. Survivors: Daughter, Sheena Robinson of Oregon; Son, Billy Robinson of Kentucky; Sister and brother-in-law Marie and Reed Stratton of Vonore;
Brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Kathy Robinson of Gray, TN.; Charles and Sherry Robinson of Illinois; Steve Robinson of Georgia; Danny Robinson of Jefferson City; Sister-in-law, Connie Robinson of Maryville. Several nieces and nephews.
At the family's request the body was cremated, no services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
Grace tarwater webb
Grace Tarwater Webb age 92, passed away peacefully at Asbury Place in Maryville, TN early Friday morning, November 15, 2002. She was born in Sevierville, TN, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Tarwater. She attended Murphy College in Sevierville and was married
to William Marion Webb of Wears Valley. After farming in Sevier County for several years, they moved to Blount County, where Marion Webb worked at ALCOA. They lived in the Lanier area and were very active at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist. After her husband's death, Mrs. Webb moved to Maryville.
Children are, Jean Webb McFarland of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bill Webb (William Marion Webb Jr.) of Black Mountain, NC, Linda W. Downing and her husband, David Downing of Friday Harbor, WA; Peggy W. Ford of Robbinsville, North Carolina, Joanne W. Buchanan of Orlando, Florida, Sandra W. Goodman and her husband, Dale Goodman of Jonesboro, Georgia, June W. Goddard and her husband Andy Goddard of Maryville, TN, Margie W. Van Buren of Orlando, Florida. 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Sisters, Mrs. June Crumley of Alcoa and Mrs. Lorraine Hickman of Knoxville. Several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was 3 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Steve Tuck officiated. The interment followed at Williamson Chapel Cemetery. The family received friends 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
BRUMFIEL, ROBERT W., 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in Dana Point, Calif. He was a graduate of the Alcoa High School class of 1931 and the University of Tennessee.
Survivors: wife, Anne Brumfiel, Laguna Niguel, Calif., daughter Marian E. Brumfiel Zimmerman, Pottsville, Penn., son, Dr. Robert W. Brumfiel, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church at noon Dec. 1.
GEORGE `IRA' PARRISH III
George 'Ira' Parish, III, age 35 died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at his home in Maryville, Tennessee. He was born January 5, 1967, the only child of Cindy N. Parrish and George I. Parrish, Jr. Ira was a talented artist, and worked as a graphic designer primarily in advertising and Web design. He was also a musician, singer, and song writer, and was currently a member of a band out of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, George I. Parrish, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George I. Parrish, Sr. of Jesup, GA; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. Nation of Ringgold, GA.
He is survived by his mother, Cindy N. Parrish and stepfather, Bjorn Axelsson of Maryville, TN; stepsister and husband, Karen Axelsson and Philip LeBoit; nieces, Tory, Phoebe, and nephew, Jonah of Orinda, CA; aunts and uncles, June and Ed Gunlock of Knoxville, TN, Steve and Bamby Nation of Savannah, GA, Starr and Cavanaugh Holland of Montgomery, TX, Mary and Billy Sanders of Warner Robbins, GA, Elizabeth and Fred Marshal of Tyler, TX; twenty six cousins and a host of wonderful friends.
A graveside service and interment will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002, Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Bob Gilbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2002, North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153.

KNURR, JOHN JOSEPH, 89, Knoxville, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002. He worked as an industrial equipment sales representative.
Survivors: wife, Mary Freeman Knurr; sister, Georgiana Knurr; brother, J.B. Freeman of Flowery Branch, Ga.
Funeral service 7:30 p.m. today at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in Ely, Iowa. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
RUSSELL, JAMES A. "SKIP, " 54, Alcoa, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Survivors: sisters, Pat Bergstrom and Mary Brown, both of Maryville.
