PAUL LINWOOD ROBISON
Paul Linwood Robison, age 60 of Caryville, TN. passed away Monday, December 2, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Merchant Marine of the Stewart J. Court for 32 yrs. serving the Great Lakes. preceded in death by parents, Paul and Doris Robison.
Survivors: wife, Linda Hamby Robison of Caryville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and AJ ali of Fla.; daughter, Georgia Robison of Fla.; 3 grandchildren also from Fla.; sisters, Linda Wright and Carol Nevling both of Pennsylvania; stepchildren, Susan and Laverne Brown of Maryville, Karen and Kenny Pedigo of Maryville, Tiny and Mike Arnold of Seymour, Clay Teffeteller Jr. of Lafollette; 5 stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel Rev. Ronald Morton officiating. Interment to follow at Nelson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

CARL GORDON SCHWEITZER
Carl Gordon Schweitzer, age 69 of Maryville, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Montgomery, Ohio and a member of the Musician's Union. He was also a Veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Mr. Schweitzer retired from Grandview Cemetery.
Preceded in death by: parents, Carl and Helen Schweitzer.
Survivors include: V. Kathleen Schweitzer; Cousin, James Davey of Dayton, Ohio; several special friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Smith Mortuary with Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

MATTIE MAE STEVENS
Mattie Mae Stevens, age 87 of Alcoa passed away Wednesday evening, December 4, 2002 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Jim Ledbetter in Alcoa. She has gone home to be with Jesus. Member of the Maryville First Nazarene Church. Retired Nurses Aide from Lakeshore Mental Health Facility. preceded in death by husband, Isaac 'Ike' Stevens; son, Connie 'Bud' Stevens.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Nahed Sakalla of Knoxville, Doris and James 'Jim' Ledbetter of Alcoa; grandchildren, Aaron Whitehead of Knoxville, Bryan and Sarah Ledbetter of Alcoa; great-grandchildraen, Blake Whitehead of Friendsville; sister, Marie Russell of Maryville; sister-in-law, Lila Rose Hudgens of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2002 Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ray Couey, Rev. David Campbell officiating. Family and friends will meet at Zion Chapel cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Sandra Kay Lett Bernstein
Sandra Kay Lett Bernstein, age 59 passed away Tuesday night, December 3, 2002. She was preceded in death by her mother, Waneta Paxson.
Survivors: husband of forty years, William (Bill) Bernstein; son, Christopher A. Bernstein; daughter, Catherina and husband, Michael Owens; grandsons, Joshua and Travis Owens, Christopher R. Bernstein; granddaughters, Mariah and Samantha Owens.
Family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 6, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow with the Rev. Clarence Byrd officiating, burial will be at Shady Grove cemetery following the service Dec. 6, 2002.

Justin Edward Rule, age 16, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at the family home. He was a junior at Maryville High School and attended Rockford Baptist Church.
He is survived by father, Hugh Rule of Rockford; mother, Carol Rule of Maryville; brother, Trace Rule of Rockford; sisters, Lisa Taylor of Boston, Massachusetts and Kelly Helms of Dallas, Texas; grandmothers, Gladys Robertson of Maryville and Margaret Handley of Oak Ridge.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Russ Maples officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

JUSTIN REID `CHAVEZ' FENNELLY
2002-12-03
Justin Reid "Chavez" Fennelly, age 18 passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Knoxville, was a 2002 graduate of William Blount High School where he was a member of the football team, and was a past member of the East Tennessee Indian League. He received national recognition for a poem he co-authored with Fran Gamble entitled, "Me and You".
Survivors include: mother, Carol J. Allen; father, Phillip R. Fennelly; sister, Tristen A. Fennelly; grandparents, Mary R. Allen, Germaine Fennelly and Pete and Cathy Fennelly; aunts and uncles, James W. Allen, Ray and Toni Holland; cousins, Kris and Keri Sweimler, Lena Sue Jerkins and Annabella Hewing.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Church in Knoxville with Dean John Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Justin's name to the Forensic Science Scholarship Fund, payable to William Blount High School, attention: Kim Wilde, 219 County Farm Road, Maryville, TN 37801. EVELYN GLADYS OGLE LAMPKIN
Mrs. Evelyn Gladys Ogle Lampkin, age 56 passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Nelson Ogle and Cecil Bracking Ogle; sister, Ruth McMahan; brother, Charles R. Ogle; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ogle.
Survived by a very special friend, James E. Lampkin; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Michael Woodby; brothers and sister-in-law, Claude Ogle, Clarence and Sue Ogle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and John Dale Williams, Helen and Lowell Thomas, Brenda and Sam Caughron; grandchildren, Janisha Wilson, Baylee Woodby, and Travis Woodby; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 3, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park Funerals & Cremations with a funeral service to be conducted at 8 p.m. with Rev. Pete Koster officiating. Pallbearers will be: Michael Woodby, Charles Woodby, Tim Woodby, Kenneth Lampkin, Connard Hembree and Charles Waters. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Highland South Memorial Park. Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations has arrangements, 573-7300.

SUSIE MAE NELSON
Susie Mae Nelson, age 84 of Maryville, passed away Sunday evening, December 1, 2002 at U.T. Medical Center. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors: husband, Gleason Nelson; children and spouses, Raymond and Mary Hodge of Beavercreek, Ohio, Unav and J.B. Campbell of Birmingham, Alabama, Donald and Peggy Hodge of Xenia, Ohio and Stanley and Edna Nelson of Maryville; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Mayford Brewer of Townsend and Clyde Brewer of Beavercreek, Ohio; sister, Leona Smith of Pensacola, Florida, a host of nieces and nephews and special friends at the DCI Dialysis Clinic on Crest Road in Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Clark's Grove cemetery for graveside service and interment, Rev. Jack Hitch and Rev. Scott White officiating. Friends may call at their convenience Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

FRANK WELLS POWELL
Frank Wells Powell, age 73 of Louisville, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 1, 2002, at his home. Born December 15, 1928 in Kentucky, Mr. Powell received a Bachelor's Degree from Centre College, Danville, KY, and the Master's Degree from Gallaudet University, Washington, DC. Mr. Powell was a nationally recognized leader in deaf education having served as a teacher, administrator and author at the Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee Schools for the Deaf. Also, he served as Director of the Callier Speech and Hearing Center, Dallas, TX. He was a frequent speaker and consultant on issues affecting deaf education and a valued advisor and mentor to many in national deaf education circles. Mr. Powell was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served as a navigator in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R. M. and Mary Letha Powell, Stanford, KY; and brother, R. M Powell, III, Blytheville, AR.
He is survived by sisters, Peggy Murphy, Nicholasville, KY and Mary (Kate) Roberts, Louisville, TN; brother, Josh Powell, Atlanta, GA; adopted son, Mark Oppie, Louisville, TN; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Mr. Powell's life and faith will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Broadway, Maryville with The Rev. Martha Sterne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Parish Hall. Family members will lead a graveside service to be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, at the Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford, KY. JACK STINNETT
Jack Stinnett, age 74 of Vandalia, MO, died November 29, 2002 at Missouri Veteran's Home in Mexico, MO.
Funeral services for Jack Stinnett will be held Monday, December 2, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holt Funeral Home in Vandalia. Burial will be in the Vandalia City Cemetery. Rev. Chris Harley will be officiating. Mrs. Shirley Forgy will be playing the organ. Visitation was held Sunday, December 1, 2002 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Holt Funeral Home in Vandalia.
Jack Stinnett was born April 29, 1928 in Friendsville, TN the son of John and Alverda Sands Stinnett. On October 17, 1954 in St. Louis he married Helen Smith she survives of the home. Also surviving are five sons, Terry Stinnett of Vandalia, Scott Stinnett of Mexico, MO, Archie Stinnett of Orlando, FL, Patrick (BO) Stinnett of Curryville, and Richard Stinnett of Vandalia; four daughters, Sue Johnson of Maryville, TN, Debby Stinnett of Vandalia, Jane Hannaford of Vandalia, Lisa Case of Vandalia; three brothers, Walt Stinnett of Maryville, TN, Carl Stinnett of Maryville, TN, and Cecil Stinnett of Friendsville, TN; one sister, Mary Lou Robbins of Friendsville, TN; eight grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother, one brother, and three stepbrothers. Jack Stinnett lived in Vandalia for 36 years coming from Kansas. He was a member of the Zion Chapel, he also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the VFW Post 2173 of Vandalia.

VALARIA VALENTINE WILLIAMS
Valaria Valentine Williams, age 92 of Maryville died November 30, 2002 at the home of her daughter Elsie in Marietta, GA. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. preceded in death by her husband, Robert Williams; daughter, Patricia Steward; father, Rev. A. P. Valentine; mother, Tilda Valentine; and a brother, Ronald Valentine; grandson, Ed Woodby.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Carl Ray and Francis of Klamath Falls, OR; daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Ray Muller of Bremerton, WA, Elsie and Jack Owenby of Marietta, GA, Avie and Sam Phinney of Garden City, MI; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ashley and Kathleen Valentine of Maryville, Bruce and Shirley Valentine of Morris, AL; sisters, Veryl Dixon of Seymour and Gladys Fox of Maryville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Chuck Young officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Grandview cemetery for the Interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Mortuary, Maryville 983-1000

GLAZE, ROBERT LOWE 'BOB', 67, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 29. Survivors: daughters, Laura Glaze of Grapevine, Texas, and Lynn Mikesell of Lewisville, Texas; two granddaughters; the mother of his children and best friend Jean Patterson Glaze of Maryville; sister, Vivian Gordon; brother, Kenneth Glaze, Longview, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Funeral Home with the family receiving friends after the service. Burial will be in Memory Park cemetery in Longview, Texas.

Esther Kuehn Barker, age 99 of Rockford, TN., formerly of Austin, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Fairpark Healthcare Center in Maryville, TN.
