Larrimett (Larry) J. Spies, age 67 of Louisville died Friday, September 13, 2002, at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church; avid fisherman and hunter; member of the NRA. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company and a United States Marine. preceded in death by: wife, Carol Ann Spies; parents, John and Edna Spies.
Survivors include: daughters, Holly King of Boonville, Indiana and Lt. Col. Jill Spies Page and husband Maj. Jerry Page of Hill Air Force Base, Utah; grandchildren, Samuel, Thomas, Emma, Lydia; brother, Gordon Spies of Florida; sisters, Darlene Peacock of New York and Beverly Mangravite of Illinois.
Memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at Smith Mortuary with Dr. James A. Dougherty officiating. RICHARD `RICK' VICTOR GEORGE

Richard 'Rick' Victor George, age 55 of Knoxville, TN passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002. He was preceded in death by his father, Dick George; son, Joshua George; daughter, Jennifer George; brother, Gary George.
Mr. George is survived by his wife of 17 years, Beverly P. George; daughter, Kathryn 'Katie' George; son, Jonathan George; and Jonathan's mother, Darlene George; his mother, Vivian George; brothers, Tim George and Lance George; daughter-in-law, Lisa George; and 2 grandchildren.
A native of Knoxville, Rick served his country in the U.S. Navy and recently retired from Northwest Airlines after 36 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, he was loved by his family, friends, co-workers, and dogs.
A special Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, September 15, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at West Hills Baptist Church with Rev. John E. Pennington, Jr. officiating. Ada Louise Harris, age 79 of Alcoa died Friday, September 13, 2002, at Maryville Healthcare Center. She was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church. She retired from Sky Chef. preceded in death by: Husband, James N. Harris; Parents, John & Mary Teffeteller.

Jonathan Richard Hurst, age 24 of Maryville passed away Friday, September 13, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include: Parents, Chris and Joyce Hurst of Maryville. Brother, Kevin Hurst. Grandparents, Stella and Charles Hurst. Grandmother, Hazel Hux. Great-grandmother, Estelle Burns. VESTA L. DUNCAN MCLEMORE MCDANIEL
Vest L. Duncan McLemore McDaniel, age 76 of Maryville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 13, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist church in Lenoir City. Vesta was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron McDaniel; parents, John and Nannie Duncan; brothers, Anderson, Dallas, Barney and Otis Duncan; sisters, Elsie Nelson and Lillian McNabb.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Benny and Winnie McLemore of Loudon, Wendell Lee and Sandra McLemore of Maryville, Sue and Danny Oliver of Maryville, Oliver and Hilde McLemore of Madisonville, Wilma and Charles Cameron of Lenoir City, Sandra and Douglas Pierce of GA, Drs. Thomas and Rhonda McLemore of Maryville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Dyer of Maryville; brothers, Wayne Duncan of Maryville, Charles Duncan of CA and Clifford Duncan of FL; several nieces and nephews.

Dewey Edward 'Bud' Mays, age 68, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002, from a lingering illness. He was retired from University of Tennessee Medical Center. preceded in death by father, Martin George Mays; mother, Dora Hockenjos Mays; sister, Ella Mae Ogle; brothers, William, Gene, Jay and Jack Mays.
Survivors: Loving companion of 21 years: Betty Jo of Knoxville. Daughter and son-in-law: Janice and Eric Barnes of Wenatchee, Washington. Daughter: Karen Mays of Wenatchee, Washington. Son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Tammie Mays of Sevierville. Stepson and wife: Donnie and Karen Trentham of Dandridge. Stepson and wife: Denny and Teresa Trentham of Powell. Grandchildren: Ashley Salgado, A.J. Mays, Melissa Mays, Mendi Mays, Melissa Trentham, and Joseph Trentham. Sisters: Joyce Strevel and Alice Trent, both of Knoxville. Joseph I. Weaver, age 71, of Maryville, passed away quietly at his home on Saturday, September 14, 2002, after a lingering illness with Alzheimer's. He served in the U.S. Air Force for six years as a staff sergeant and was retired from United Airlines. preceded in death by father, A.C. Weaver of Huntington, WV.

WILLIE P. `GEECH' BAKER
Willie P. (Geech) Baker, age 79 of Louisville died Tuesday, September 10, 2002. He was retired from ALCOA with 38 years service and was a member of the 25 Year Club.
He is survived by wife, Nellie Warren Baker; daughters, Willie Pearl (Jacob) Badgett, Alberta Brantley, Greta (Ronnie) McGhee, and Maggie L. Williams; son, Nathaniel Baker; sister, Mary Alice (William) Carter of Naylor, GA; brother, Mr. Richard Anderson of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren; devoted friends, Sherman McDuffy and Robert Blair.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Primitive Baptist Church, Alcoa with Elder Raymond Henderson officiating. Interment to follow at Hackney's Chapel Cemetery, Unitia. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. The remains may be viewed after noon Friday at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville.
REV. WILLIAM K. MCGUIRE
Rev. William K. McGuire, age 66 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Maryville First Church of God, retired from Richmond Gear, Richmond Indiana; retired school bus driver for the city of Maryville. He was preceded in death by: parents, Grover and Ruby Cox McGuire; sister, Geneve McGuire; brothers, Lewis D. and Elwood McGuire.
Survivors include: wife, Betty McGuire; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Tim Bartley of Gate City, VA; Linda and Issac Kirkland of Maryville, Lisa and Rod Hiles of New Madison, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Connie McGuire of New Paris, OH; Bill and Sherry McGuire of Marysville, OH; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Ray; brother, Joe McGuire both of New Paris, OH; several nieces and nephews.

PHILLIP E. MILLSAPS
Phillip E. Millsaps, age 51 of Philadelphia, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 12, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a 1969 graduate of Everett High School and also graduated from the University of Tennessee. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Viet Nam and was a member of ALCOA's 25-Year Club. Phil loved to play the piano and was an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Pauline Chapman Millsaps.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, June Clinton Millsaps; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Sandy Millsaps and Tom and Donna Millsaps; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jack Humphreys; sister, Carol Luckey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Geraldine Clinton; sister-in-law, Catherine Summers; special nephews, David, Nicholas, Ashley and Andrew; aunts, Edna James, Jean Flynn, Johnnie Waters, Carolyn Fleming and Nancy Bryson; uncles, James Young, Dewey Young, Charles Young, Don Young and Larry Young; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, loved ones and special friends.
