Mary K. 'Dot' Foster, age 81 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Northaven Health Care Center. She was a native of Tennessee & resided in Louisville for most of her life.
Survivors: son & daughter-in-law, Marvin & Donna Daugherty, Arcadia, Florida; grandchildren, Michele & Kim; great-grandchild, Bradley.

Lloyd W. Walker, age 78 of Maryville died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Maryville Church of Christ. preceded in death by: Parents, Bill & Marjorie Walker.

JOSEPH EUGENE DAUGHERTY
Joseph Eugene Daugherty, age 54 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with Cancer. He was employed by the Department of Transportation for 35 years. preceded in death by mother, Wilma Lee Best Daugherty and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors, wife of 35 years, Jean Daugherty; daughters and sons in law, Sonya and Randy Fortner of Maryville and Lori and Terry Brown of Seymour; grandchildren, Miranda Fortner, Katie Fortner, Felicia Brown, Madison Brown and Trace Joseph Lee Brown; father, Charles Daugherty of Maryville; sister and brother in law, Dot and Alex Lawhon of Maryville; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

ALBERT T. HAMMOND JR.
Albert T. Hammond Jr. age 84 of Louisville died Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the family home. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church Maryville. Mr. Hammond was a Drum Major at the University of Tennessee Knoxville from 1937 until 1939. He retired from Sears. After retirement he was a local artist of Limited Edition Artwork of Cades Cove. preceded in death by: Parents, Albert Sr. & Thursie Hammond; Sister, Alma Hammond.
Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Martha Cavaleri Hammond; Son and Daughter- in-law, Stuart & Marilyn Hammond of Rockford; Son, Bob Hammond of Townsend; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Emily & Jim Watson of Durango, CO and Susan & Tom Church of Belvidere, TN; Grandchildren, Russell & Kelie Hammond, Tabatha Hammond, Nathaniel & Crystal Watson and Chris Watson; Three Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Evelyn Bounds of Knoxville and Thelma Yancura of Baltimore, MD.

Rufus Leo Caldwell, age 86, of Knoxville, died Sat., September 28, 2002 at Shannondale Health Care Center. Retired Chemist from O.R.N.L. Member of Church Street United Methodist Church, E.TN Senior Golf Assn., Friends of Lakeshore Institute and Charter Member of Oak Ridge Country Club. preceded in death by first wife - Edna E. Caldwell and by a son - Michael Albert Caldwell.
Survived by: Wife - Zurma Mounce Henry Caldwell of Knoxville. Son - Robert Leo Caldwell and wife Nancy Petretzky Caldwell of San Hosea, CA. Step-sons - Michael P. Henry and wife Karen Boyd Henry of Maryville and Bruce Edward Henry of Knoxville. Step-daughters - Patricia Henry Reeves and husband Larry of Maryville Diana Henry Swann and Phyllis Henry Strange and husband Richard, all of Knoxville. Sister - Louise Caldwell Middleton of Memphis. 14 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

ENNIS `BUDDY K.D.' DAVIS SR.
Ennis (Buddy K.D.) Davis, Sr., age 62 of Alcoa passed away Thursday at his home. He was born September 27, 1939 in Johnson County, GA. He attended Robinson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Rest Haven Baptist Church in Alcoa, and was retired from ALCOA with 25 years service. He is preceded in death by father Ephrom Davis, mother Mary Davis, son Ennis Davis, Jr., and niece Bridgette Cooper.
He leaves to mourn his passing: daughter Donna (Chris) McClendon of Louisville, TN; brother David (Lynn) Davis of Decatur, GA; sister Sallie Bell Carter of Alcoa; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles; to include devoted aunt Geneva Johnson; devoted friends Jack Young and Tracie Whitmore and Julia Buchanon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Foothills Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Joe L. Colquitt officiating. Interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. The remains may be viewed after noon Tuesday at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville.
JACK FRAZIER GREEN
1st Sergeant (USAF Ret.) Jack Frazier Green, age 73 of Seymour, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the family home. He was born in Knoxville in the New Hopewell Community where he attended school. The family later made Greenback their home. 1st Sgt Green was preceded in death by his father, Jessie William Green; mother, Annie Leona Frazier Green Archer of Greenback; sisters, Beulah and Betty Jo Green, JoAnne Green Ray Eppinger; brothers, E.J. Green, Ralph E. Green and wife, Gladys Green, Milton E. Green and Roy A. Green; sister-in-law, Edna Green; nephews, Charlie Green and Eddie Green.
1st Sgt Green began his military career in the United States Navy in 1947 - 1950. After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy, he joined the United States Air Force. He retired from the service on January 1, 1971, completing 23 years of service. 1st Sgt Green's foreign service included Atlantic Sea Duty, France, Germany, Labrador, the Cuban Crisis, Vietnam and Spain. 1st Sgt Green was a graduate of Officers Candidate School in 1964 and the Strategic Air Command NCO Preparatory School. In 1965, 1st Sgt Green received the Tactical Air Command, Langley AFB, Virginia, "Honorable Mention Award" for designing the LAU-3A Rocket Removal Tool. 1st Sgt Green served as Base Sergeant Major to the Commander, 7472 Combat Support Sq., Zaragoza Air Base in Spain from July 1969 - October 1970. 1st Sgt Green received the following awards and medals during his service: Presidential Unit Citation Air Force Award w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (Vietnam 1 Jan. 1965 - 1 Dec. 1966) the degree of heroism is the same as that which would warrant an Award of a Distinguished Service Cross to an individual, Outstanding Unit Award w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters (Vietnam Dec. 1965 - Oct. 1966), Good Conduct Ribbon (US Navy 1947 - 1950), Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/3 Br Loops (Vietnam), Good Conduct Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Cluster, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon, Army of Occupation Medal (France 1955), National Defense Service Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star and Medal (Vietnam Combat), Vietnam Service Ribbon w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Markmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Defense Commemorative Medal, Boxed with Ribbon (Vietnam Combat Service 1965 - 1966), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Date Bar "inscribed 1960 - is the only authorized version", Air Force Commendation Ribbon awarded while serving in any capacity with the Air Force, distinguished themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement or by meritorious service, Air Force Longevity Award, w/3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters (1952, 1954, 1958-1962), Armed Forces Retired Commemorative Metal to honor the devotion, loyalty and achievement of all who retired from a military career in the service of their nation (1775-present). Special recognition was given 1st Sgt Green from the Spanish employees of the Zaragoza AFB, Spain, who were under his care and supervision. In a letter dated Oct., 1969 to Colonel Dale R. Funk, Base Commander, the Spanish Employees call 1st Sgt Green "a good man and in all time and occasion he has shown his human feelings. With him the work is not a terrible thing. His kindness and good manners have caused a big effect among us. We want to express to you our congratulations for having such a kind man working for you. He promotes excellent relationship between both countries and with this behavior he has done more for the United States of America than anyone might think." Signed in their own handwritings, nineteen Spanish Employees. 1st Sgt Green was an avid deep sea fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.

The family of 1st Sgt Green would like to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to our Pastor, Dr. Bruce Yates and our Seymour First Baptist Church Family for their love and prayers during the last 3 years, particularly to our Sunday School Classes, The Friendship Class and the Outreacher's Class. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by East Tennessee State Veterans Honor Guard, ENCS (USN Ret.) George Frank Enter will have the reading of the Folding of the American Flag and presentation of the Flag to the family. Honors will conclude with the playing of "Taps" and the bedediction by Dr. Yates. Family will receive friends 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Raymond McLemore, age 82 of 743 Miller Road, Vonore, went to be with the Lord 6:15 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002 at his home. Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. Son of the late Jim & Lottie McLemore. preceded in death by special granddaughters -- Ashley McMahan & Courtney McLemore, grandson, Timmy Hughes, sister, Izzie Davis, brothers, Loyd & Lee McLemore.

William L. Norton, 90, formerly of Maryville and Knoxville, will be Friday October 4, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 1101 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery on Tuckaleechee Pike in Maryville.
Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy W. Norton; children Linda Knies and husband Robin, Dale Norton and wife Nancy, and Carol Luttrell and husband Rick; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and sister Hilda Bethea and husband Nelson.
The family will greet friends before the service at 1:30 in the parish hall at St. James. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church or to the charity of your choice.

Olive, A.R. age 78 of Maryville died Sunday September 29th 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He was retired from ALCOA and was a member of the 25 Year Service Club. He was preceded in death by wife, Faye H. Olive; granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Olive; sister Lois Morrison.
