CUPP, RUTH BLANTON, 89, Lenoir City, died Saturday, Jan. 27.
She was employed at Eastern State Psychiatric Hospital from 1964 until her retirement in 1977 as a psychiatric aide in the drug and alcohol unit.
Survivors: sons, Dr. Horace Blanton of Knoxville, Robert Blanton and Steve Blanton, both of Lenoir City; daughters, Evelyn Hetman of Smyrna; Carol Smith of Pembrooke Pines, Fla., and Janice Graves of Knoxville; brother, Ed Sturgill of Pound, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery.

SHELLEY, RICHARD MICHAEL, 54, Maryville, died Saturday, Jan. 27, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville.
Survivors: mother, Hazel A. Shelley of Maryville; brother, Randall Shelley of Seymour; sisters, Karen Dale Kirk of Rockford, Vicki Sullivan of Maryville, Patricia Beck of Illinois, Teena Curtis of North Carolina.
Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m. Tuesday for graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home.

WILSON, PAUL L., 75, Maryville, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Wilson was employed by McNutts for 30 years and Delmar Haynes for 13 years.
Survivors: wife, Mary Alice Wilson; sons, Richard Paul Wilson, Robert L. Wilson all of Maryville; four grandchildren; brothers, Wade Wilson of Alabama, Charlie Wilson, Jesse Wilson and Vernon Wilson all of Maryville; sister, Polly Robinson of North Carolina.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith Mortuary. Interment service will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

FOSTER, ROXIE,

81, Seymour, formerly of Maryville, died Saturday, Jan. 27, at the family home.
Survivors: daughters, Delia Foster, Seymour, Nila Staines, Walland; sons, Sidney Ratledge, Friendsville, John Gillespie, Walland, George Foster, Sweetwater; 13 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; sister, Lula Mae O'Neill, California; brothers, Luther Ferguson and Donald Ferguson, both of Maryville.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment to follow at Louisville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

KOONTZ, BARBARA JEAN SLIGER, 66, Louisville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Memorial Funeral Home.

MURRELL, SHERRY ANNETTE GREEN, 30, Maryville, died Saturday, Jan. 27, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was an employee of Maryville College.
Survivors: husband, John W. Murrell; sons, Garrett and Landon Murrell, both of Maryville; father, Charles Green, Maryville; brother, Steve Green, Oak Hill, Va.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery for interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

EPPINGER, LOTTIE M.,

81, Maryville died Saturday, Jan. 27, at Asbury Acres Health and Retirement Center.
Survivors: son, Donald L. Eppinger of Maryville; two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at McGonigle Funeral Home in New Castle, Pa. from 7 p.m. 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be at Graceland cemetery in New Castle on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1. Local arrangements by McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

KOONTZ, BARBARA JEAN SLIGER, 66, Louisville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Survivors: sons, David Koontz of Louisville, Rick Fitzgerald of Rockford; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl S. Sliger, Robert R. Sliger and Jack Sliger, all of Louisville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Ballards Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MCCLURE, CATHERINE TEMPLETON, 91, Maryville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, at Blount Memorial Hospital. In her years of teaching nursing, she taught at the University of Pittsburgh, at Penn State University and was dean of women at Westminster College. She specialized in human relations and psychology as well as nursing education and rehabilitative nursing.
Survivors: sisters, Margaret Cummings and Janet McClure, both of Maryville.
Family and friends will assemble at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the interment service. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Providence Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in Westminster Hall at the church. Arrangements by Smith Mortuary,

SCUDDER, EUGENE GRIFFEY, 79, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Baptist Hospital.
Survivors: daughters, Ada Scudder, Mary Robinson, Audrey Johnson; sister, Evelyn Louise Chandler; brothers, Donald Griffey, Robert Young; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, Knoxville.

SEXTON, PAUL, 73, Maryville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors: wife, Ruth; daughters, Faye Griffith of Wisconsin, Paula Miracle and Sandra Sexton, both of Kentucky; stepson, Roger, and stepdaughter, Cynthia both of Maryville; brothers and sisters, George Sexton of Indiana, Junior Sexton of Texas, William Sexton of Florida; twin sister, Pauline Cole of Knoxville, Cleo Clark of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville to proceed to a 3 p.m. graveside funeral service at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home.

SUMMEY, ANTHONY L., 41, Knoxville, formerly of Hillsborough, N.C., died Friday, Jan. 26.
Survivors: mother, Janice Summey of Hillsborough, NC.
No local services are planned. He was returned to Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough for funeral services. Interment will be in Mars Hill Baptist cemetery in Hillsborough. Local arrangements by Dotson Funeral Home.

68, formerly of Maryville, died Jan. 22 in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Survivors: sons, Clinton Dale Buchanan of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Chet Daniel Buchanan of Spruce Pine, N.C., Christopher Dean of West Palm Beach, Fla.; daughter, Cathryn Denise Marroquin of Lakeworth, Fla.; four grandchildren; brothers, J.R. Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Bert Buchanan, Wayne Buchanan and Googe Buchanan, all of Maryville, Leonard Buchanan of Locust Grove, Ga.; sisters, Janice Navotny of Columbus, Ga., Rosie Hannah of Greenback, Hope Raper and Lorraine Ray of Maryville; stepmother, Annie Buchanan; stepbrothers, Ernest Bryant, Sherman Bryant, all of Maryville.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Kagley's Chapel Baptist Church.

CAYLOR, RICHARD EARL (DICKY),

58, Maryville, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the family home. He was employed as a federal aviation air traffic controller and previously owned Four-Corners Market, Rockford.
Survivors: Suzy Wrinkle Caylor; sons, Andy Caylor, Lee Caylor, Wesley Caylor, all of Maryville; sister, Marjorie Atkins of Maryville.
Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service and interment at 11 a.m. Friday at Clarks Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Smith Mortuary.
