ANNABELLE J. LIBBY
Annabelle J. Libby, age 72 of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at her home. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. A 1952 graduate of Maryville College, she held a master's degree from Kent State University in Library Science; she worked as an educator in Lorain, OH, as a children's librarian in Shaker Heights, OH and then as Director of Transfer Admissions at Maryville College. She sang in the Sweet Adelines of Cleveland, OH and more recently with Smoky Mountain Harmony, as well as in her church choir.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence D. and Maude Evelyn Darkis Libby.
She is survived by: brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Lesley Shattuck Libby of Louisville, OH; niece, Betsy Libby of Uniontown, OH; nephew and wife, Dan and Danita Wolf Libby of Logan, OH and their children, Jacob, Bradley and Lynndsay. She also leaves behind close and loving friends, Martha Hess of Knoxville, Carmen Walker and Lynae Wyngate of Alcoa and Jean Sylak of Shaker Heights, OH.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily J. Anderson officiating.

Roger Dale Roulette, age 45 of Maryville passed away Monday, May 6, 2002. preceded in death father, William Fred Roulette; brothers, Albert `Buddy' Roulette, Wesley Roulette; sisters, Mildred Davis and Juanita Roulette.

JACK THOMPSON
Jack Thompson, born June 24, 1932, passed away May 7, 2002 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was retired from Thompson Electric Company. preceded in death by father, Paul Thompson; mother, Mary Pulliam and step-father, George R. Pulliam.
Survivors include wife, Anne Thompson; son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Robin Thompson of Maryville; granddaughter, Bailey Thompson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lowery and Charlotte Sandidge of Lenoir City, Judy and Larry Gregory of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and Interment at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Logan's Chapel cemetery with Rev. Phillip Marshall officiating. Reba C, Wells, of Maryville passed away Monday, April 29, 2002 at U.T. Medical Center.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lea Ann Wells of Maryville; grandsons, Chad and Clarke Wells of Maryville; one niece.
Funeral services were held in Hughestown, PA on May 2.

BETTY JO PAYNE
Betty Jo Payne, age 69, our hearts are broken by the loss of Betty Jo Payne. She passed away Sunday morning, May 5, 2002 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Carrie Best; brother, Cooper Best; and sister, Wilma Daugherty.
She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Payne; daughter, Diane Blevins; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Steve Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Ken Fleming; grandchildren, Kris and Kim Blevins, Shawn and Mary Beth Jones, Brian and Kim Jones; granddaughter, Karrie Blevins; and six great grandchildren, all of Maryville; nieces and nephew, Joe and Jean Daugherty, Dot Jones and Brenda Best; and special friend, Betsy Xiques.

LESLIE STACY
Mr. Leslie Stacy, age 69 of Maryville went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 4, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was retired from John Morrell and Company in Cincinnati, Ohio after twenty-six years of service. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Stacy; and an infant brother.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Dorothy Ratliff Stacy; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Emily Stacy of Huntington, WV; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Dale Swentzel of Ashland, KY, Lori and Jim Pickell of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Stacy, Matthew and Stacy Swentzel, and Tanner Lee; mother, Bessie Varney Stacy; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Shirley Stacy of NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy Stiltner of Grundy, VA, Dosia and Junior Love of Bristol, VA; mother-in-law, Edith Ratliff of Amelia, VA; many special friends.

CHARLES `CHUCK' WILLIAM GRUBBS III
Charles (Chuck) William Grubbs III, age 31, of Knoxville passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the U.T. Hospital. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and an honorary police officer with the Knox Co. Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Ethel Newcomb.
Chuck is survived by his parents, Charles William Grubbs Jr. and Brenda Newcomb Grubbs of Knoxville; grandparents, Charles and Lucille Grubbs of Knoxville; 1 brother, Chip Grubbs and wife Leona of Louisville, TN; aunts, H.E. and Barbara Bittle of Knoxville, George and Pat Paine of Louisville, Steve and Vicki Pilkay, Billy and Sherrie Denton, Sam and Barbara Cupp, and Neil and Anne Lentz all of Knoxville; special uncle, Jeff Grubbs of Knoxville; very special nephew, Cole Walker Grubbs; special cousins, Danny, Kim, and Daniel Overbey, Bobby, Kelly, Keaton, and Charley Gibson; special friends, Knox Co. police officers, Jim Wright, Lt. Harry Carroll, and Sharon Massengil. A very special thanks to PICU nurses and receptionist at U.T. and Dr. Paul Banik with the Knoxville Pulmonary Group.

Chuck was an honorary Knox Co. police officer and had special interest in making people laugh. He loved all super heroes and loved to watch movies, especially Scoobie Doo. He will be greatly missed. CAROLYN MCCALL ROBERTS
Carolyn McCall Roberts, age 49 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a member of Alcoa Kiwanis, she was employed, and did volunteer work also, for Habitat for Humanity and was involved in the Jimmy Carter work project for Habitat for Humanity.
Survivors include: daughters, Melanie Steele and Erin Steele; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Sabrina Steele; grandson, William Cole Steele; parents, Wallace and Thelma McCall; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda McCall, Randall and Esther McCall; nephews, Morgan McCall, and Lucas McCall; niece, Lindsey McCall; special friend, Glenda Hill Storie and other close friends all of Maryville.

LEON 'BUDDY' BLEVINS
Leon "Buddy" Blevins, age 70 of Panama City, Florida, formerly of Maryville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2002, at Gulf Coast Medical Hospital. He was of the Protestant faith. He retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant Major, and from the Bay County Sheriff's Department as a Captain. He was a member of the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge No. 358, the Shaddia Shrine Temple and the O.E.S. Miracle Chapter No. 306. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sedric and Ethel Blevins; brothers, Howard, Mayford, Kenneth and Marvin Blevins; sister, Dorothy Law.
Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Blevins of Panama City, FL; son, Matthew Blevins and wife Charlene of Houston, TX; daughter, Donna Blevins-Rendon and husband Joe of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jason Medina, Brooke Rendon, Heather Blevins, Ryan Blevins and Matthew Blevins; great-granddaughter, Michelle Medina; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Brenda Blevins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Ervil Russell, Juanita and Sam Whitehead, Jean and Don Matlock and Mildred Fagg; sister-in-law, Grace Blevins; several nieces and nephews.

Louise Ramsey Carroll, age 81 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church of Maryville and was a retired City of Knoxville School Teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Carroll; parents, Albert and Gussie Wolfe Ramsey; sister, Herma Cate; and brother, Earl Ramsey.
Survivors include: son, Albert Carroll of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Gene Saalweachter of Winston Salem NC and Mary and Jerry Sweitzer of Shelbyville, KY; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Marshall of Richmond, VA; brother, Ryland Ramsey of Sneedville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

James Coy Evans, age 67 of Greenback, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member of Morganton Baptist Church in Greenback, retired from ALCOA, member of the 25 Year Club and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. preceded in death by father, Ellis Evans; son, Kevin Evans; and brother, Clarence Evans. Survivors: wife, Edna Palmer Evans; sons and daughters-in-law, Kirby and Pam Evans and Kenny and Kathy Evans all of Greenback; granddaughters, Shari, Kristi and Kayla; mother, Lottie Evans of Greenback; brothers, Everett Evans, Roy Evans, Ellis Evans Jr., Owen Evans and Lee Evans all of Greenback, Kenneth Evans of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews.
