She was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church. preceded in death by: husband, Curtis Glandon; parents, Floyd and Catherine Bliscerd; brother, John Bliscerd; sister, Viola Simmons; grandson, Johnny Samples.

Trula Maxine Allen Hall, age 77 of Maryville died Sunday, May 19, 2002 at her home. Tennessee's First Lady of Auctioneer Passes Away -- Going Once, Going Twice, Gone! She was a female pioneer before the internet and E-Bay. Trula Hall, the first lady auctioneer in Tennessee passed away Sunday, May 19 at her home in Maryville Tennessee. Mrs. Hall and her husband Carl owned and operated Carl's Furniture and Auction for over 30 years before he passed away in 1990. She semi-retired from auctioneering in December, 1991, but continued the auction chant whenever called upon to do so. Both Colonel Halls were well known throughout the South. Mrs. Hall was the 287th person to become a licensed Tennessee Auctioneer and Mr. Hall was the 288th.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Ronnie Hall of Maryville, Sharon and Lester Word of Alcoa, Debbie and Jay Gregory of Maryville and daughter, Patricia Ryan of Alcoa; and sons and daughters-in-laws, Jim and Connie Allen of Alcoa, and Terry and Theresa Allen of Maryville and son, Gary Allen of Friendsville; grandchildren, Janet Fraze, Travis Ryan, Shawn and Alexandra Allen, Amy Allen, Robert and Christopher Word, Brandon and Brandi Allen, Tiffany Tallent; and 4 great-grandchildren and stepdaughter; sons and families, Mildred Iva Lee Vickery, David, Ted and Everette Hall; sisters, Joyce Carroll of St. Augustine Fla., Ernestine Owen of Corpus Christie Tx., Ann Bennet and Louise Tindell both of Maryville.
The funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Bartl officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Ellis Bell Spears, age 71, of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida. Native and lifelong resident of Walkulla Co., Fla., retired from Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare as the supervisor of the painting department. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the U.S. Army. preceded in death by wife, Nelle C. Spears.
Survivors: nieces, Marsha Tucker, of Crawfordville, Fla., Virginia Ford, of Tallahassee, Fla., Sue Glover, of Woodville, Fla.; nephews, Dudley Gramling, of Wassisa, Fla., Henry Kearse, of Woodville, Fla.; brother-in-law, Roy Huskey of Alcoa; sisters-in-law, Rowena Huskey, Alda Conner, Anna Lee Whaley all of Alcoa; several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many other family members.

Sadie Mauck Watson, age 81, of 6108 Crestline Rd., Laurinburg, N.C., formerly of Madisonville, passed away 12:05 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002 at her home.
Survivors: husband, Rev. Leon Watson; daughter, Mary Manis, Laurinburg, N.C.; sons, Donald Watson, Morristown, David Watson, Lincolnton, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. preceded in death by son, Curtis Watson.

EVA BERNICE FINLEY
Eva Bernice Finley, age 74, passed away Friday, May 17, 2002. preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Finley.
Survived by sons, Bobby, and wife, Marcia Finley, Benny, and wife, Jean Finley, of Maryville; daughter, Wanda, husband, David Hensley, of Tullahoma, TN; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Sands, several nieces and nephews also survive.

REV. JAMES E. HANKINS
Rev. James E. Hankins, 81, of Maryville, Tennessee, died Tuesday, May 17, 2002, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. Rev. Hankins was a native of Greeneville, Tennessee, and was a retired United Methodist minister of Holston Conference. After retiring from Bearden United Methodist Church in Knoxville, he served as pastor of Immanuel Church in Mentor for eleven years, 1964-1995. He was the son of Gurney Smith and Oda Pearl Wilhoit Hankins, and brother of Joseph Gurney Hankins, veteran of world War II.
Jim Hankins is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Tompkins Hankins, formerly of Duffeld, Virginia, and their children: Cary and Judy Hankins Davis, of Athens, Tennessee and granddaughter, Molly Davis, of Peterborough, New Hampshire; Jim II and Margie Hankins and grandchildren, Lyn Alison Martin, Joda, Erin and Jordon Hankins, of Hightstown, N.J.; and Janet Hankins Tidwell and grandchildren, Robin and Adam Butler, of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Visitation is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Maryville on Monday, May 20, 2002, followed by a memorial celebration at 8 p.m. in the sanctuary. The family will also receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home in Greeneville on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. with interment at GreeneLawn at 1:00 p.m. The ministers of the Holston Conference United Methodists will be honorary pallbearers. David Isaac Hipps, age 22, of Maryville, died May 16, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Friendsville First Baptist Church, a graduate of William Blount High School, and currently employed through Staffing Solutions with Denso Manufacturing. preceded in death by grandmother, MaryEtta Finger and grandfather, John Hipps.
Survivors include parents, David and Joan Hipps, of Friendsville; brother, Chris Hipps, of Friendsville; grandfather, David 'Max' Finger, of Friendsville; grandmother, Anne Proios, of Lenoir City; step-grandmother, Wilma Hipps; great-grandmother, Kate Hipps, of Etowah.

Wiley Huston Reagan, age 64 of Walland, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Una Garner Reagan; brothers, George W. Reagan and James H. Reagan; great-grandchild, Christian Arroyo.

A.C. Bean, Captain U.S. Army Retired, age 88 of Maryville, passed away Monday, May 13, 2002, at Maryville Healthcare Center. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, he was retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25-Year Service Club and was a Retired Captain of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sue Cornett Bean and parents, Frederick R. and Lossalie Gibson Bean.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Fred Evans of Maryville; grandchildren, Shari and Lee Forsythe of Maryville, Beth Wallace of Old Fort, TN and Suzette Stephenson of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Luke and Jake Wallace of Old Fort, TN, and David Travis of Maryville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wallace R. and Doloris Cornett of Tampa, FL and James and Betty Cornett of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.

Max H. Bradburn, age 58 passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Bradburn; brother, Johnny "mooch" Bradburn.
Survived by: sons, John and Bobby Bradburn of Maryville; sister, Lauralee Stinnett; brother, Jerry Bradburn of Maryville; six very special grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive; and many special friends.

ALVA NICHOLS COWART
Alva Nichols Cowart, age 71, of Brevard, NC, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Laurence and Bessie Shook Nichols. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Grady Cowart in August of 2000.
Survivors include: one son, Joseph L. Cowart of Brevard; three brothers, Willard Nichols of Cleveland, GA, Ralph Nichols of Hiawassee, GA, and Lex Nichols of Maryville, TN; five sisters, Mildred Woody of Hazel, NC, Mae Dills of Campobello, SC, Bonnie Edwards of Hiawassee, GA, Donnie Ellis of Hayesville, NC and Florence Jenkins of Blairsville, NC; two grandchildren, Laurel Cowart Farrell of Brevard, NC and Holly Cowart of Charlotte, NC; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

JARVIN A. DYER
Jarvin A. Dyer, age 69 of Greenback, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member and Deacon of Upper Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid gospel music fan and assistant choir director. He also sang with the Antioch Quartet, which was a family group, for many years.
Jarvin and his former employer, J.W. "Bill" Wallace, was the first business to bring David Brown Tractors into Tennessee in 1962. He worked in sales and service at the business for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Myrtle Dyer; sister, Bonnie Lail; and a brother, Dolphus.
Survivors include: wife, Ruth Quillen Dyer; son and daughter-in-law, William and Vickie Dyer of Greenback; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Arp of Friendsville; grandchildren, Krista and Anthony Dyer and Caleb and Daniel Arp; special nieces, Kayla and Heather Cargile; nephews, Dennis and Darrell Lail; uncle, Lacy Crisp; cousins, Clyde and Larry Crisp.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church, 3310 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN, with Rev. Ronnie White, Rev. Robert Watkins and Rev. John Russell officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Bob Kirkland and Rev. Jimmy Rinner officiating. The Volunteer State War Era Hall of Honor will provide military honors.
