Al Bridgers, age 82 of Maryville, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a master electrician, was owner and operator of Bridgers Electrical Company, and taught electrical vocation at William Blount High School. Mr. Bridgers was preceded in death by a daughter, Verla Johnson; granddaughter, Melinda Elizabeth Johnson; father and mother, David Lawrence and Cora James Wooten Bridgers; brothers, William Lee, Lewis Gorham and Luther David; sisters, Mamie Everett, Maude Rebecca Watkins, Lilly Mae Parker, Sudie (Lucy Susan) Johnson, Roberta Estell (Stella) Miller, and Mattie Pearl Boles.
Survivors include: wife, Edith Bridgers; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Cecil Thomas of Lenoir City; granddaughter, Amanda J. Denton and husband David L. Denton of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Zachariah James and Joshua Michael Denton; sister, Bessie Eva Keel of Walstonburg, NC.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. The interment will follow in Clark's Grove Cemetery. JAMES HAROLD DENCE JR.
James Harold Dence Jr. of Maryville passed away Friday March 8th at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by his grandparents: W.R. Sr. and Shirley Whaley and Muriel and Edna Dence. Brother: Edwin F. Morris. Sister: Tabetha M. Morris.
Survived by: Parents: Brenda and stepdad Gene Shomshor. Father: James Dence Sr. Wife: Cindy of 3 years. Children: Sons: James Robert Dence and Charlie Lockmiller. Sisters: Elizabeth and Steve Wyrick and Shirley Smith. Very special friends: Hubert and Pattie Myers and Michael and Connie Sellers. 1 niece and 3 nephews also survive.
Family will receive friends 6-8 Monday March 11, 2002 at Freedom to Worship Church. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Floyd Lambert officiating. RUSSELL `SCOTTIE' FLETCHER
Russell "Scottie" Fletcher, died Thursday, March 7 at Blount Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born April 5, 1913 in Bothwellhaugh, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was preceded in death by Jessie, his beloved wife of 58 years. An Artificer Sergeant in the British Royal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers during World War II, he served in the North African and Italian Campaigns. He immigrated to the United States in 1947, along with his wife and two children. He retired at age 83, after a long career as a Master Mechanic of Chrysler products.
He is survived by: daughter and beloved son-in-law, Lyn and Ed Cherry of Maryville; son, John Russell Fletcher of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, David and Cindy Cherry, John and Melanie Cherry of Maryville, Damocles Fletcher of Jacksonville, Florida, and Shannon Dawn Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Stephen, Michael, and Alexandra Cherry of Maryville. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff of Quality Care Assisted Living.
Memorials may be made to Foothills Land Conservancy or Peace Presbyterian Church, Southside Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32246. Friends may call at the family home. WANDA FAYE TUCK HUTCHESON
Wanda Faye Tuck Hutcheson, age 76 of Knoxville, died Friday, March 8, 2002. She was an Air Force Flight Nurse having served during World War II. She was also an avid gardener, preceded in death by husband, Jack Hutcheson; daughter, Wendy Hutcheson; brother, Raymond Charles Tuck.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Tom Bright; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Tina Hutcheson, Curt and Brenda Hutcheson; special grandson, Jackie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Jessie, Shaunny, Lacey, Candice, Karen, John, Caroline, Tommy, Brittney; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Albert Coning, Barbara and Roger Poole, Angie Isbell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Steve and Sarah Tuck, Dale and Elsie Tuck, Don and Geneva Tuck, Harold and Helen Tuck and Larry Tuck.
Memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Steve Tuck officiating. Interment wil be 12 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. National Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

MARIETTA MIZELL
Marietta Mizell, age 77 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, March 8, 2002 at the Maryville Health Care Center. She was a former employee of Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. preceded in death by parents, Henry and Lillie Harvey Mizell.
Survived by several cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Sunday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Carpenter officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Monday in the Hickory Valley cemetery for graveside services. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Marietta Mizell..

CATHY MILDRED PRATT
Cathy Mildred Pratt, age 52 of Alcoa, died 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Alcoa First Methodist Church. Retired employee of BellSouth after 30 years of service.
Survivors: husband of 33 years, Ben Pratt; son, Bradley Neal Pratt both of Alcoa; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Roger Cliff, Jacksonville, Florida.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Alcoa First Methodist Church. Pastor Ken Green officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Ave. at Broadway, Knoxville.

JOHN ELMER THOMAS
John Elmer Thomas, age 68 of Maryville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002 at his home. Elmer was a member of Old Time Gospel Church. He was a former employee of Carver Chair Company. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Annie Thomas; brothers, Earl and L.J. Thomas.
Survived by wife of 42 years, Ophelia Thomas; daughters, Mary Russell and Melissa Gail Cross and husband, Tommy, all of Maryville; sons, Darrell Thomas, John Thomas and wife, Connie, all of Lenoir City, Benny Thomas of Maryville, Terry Thomas and wife, Cindy, James Thomas and wife, Tina, and Mark Thomas and wife, Nola, all of Lenoir City; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Ruth Herron of Knoxville; brother, Robert Thomas Jr. of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m.. Saturday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Seay, Rev. Jr. Ward and Rev. Gary Neeley officiating. GERTRUDE F. WOLFE
Gertrude F. Wolfe, age 94 of Maryville, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Maryville Healthcare Center. preceded in death by: Husband, Ben Wolfe; Parents, John and Ida Graft.
Survivors include: Long-time companion, Lester Boling; Special friends, Mary Ann Boling and her family.
Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at Shady Grove cemetery with Rev. Ruben Boling and Rev. Jerry Sellers officiating. Fontella Parrott Brewer, age 76, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Parrott and Anna Belle Knight Parrott; brothers, Troy Parrott, Gib Parrott; sisters, Velma 'Polly' Sauls, Willie Mae Everett.

LYNN ANN BEST
Lynn Ann Best, age 87, of Maryville, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir, and active in the Women's Association. She was a librarian with Maryville College from 1961 to 1975 and together with her husband, Ed, promoted the Blount County Friends of the Library. Lynn Ann was born September 11, 1914 at Braemar, TN, the daughter of Leon W. and Della (Sutton) Brown. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School, Kingsport, TN and Maryville College where she continued volunteer service. After college, Lynn Ann taught at Cloudland High School, Roan Mountain, TN for two years until her marriage to Edwin J. Best, Greenback, TN in 1938. Lynn Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin J. Best, and brother, George Sutton Brown.
Survived by her sister, Mary Gladys Brown Pieper; sister-in-law, Mary Emma Allen Brown; son, Edwin J. Best, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Caroline Best; and three grandchildren, Sarah Best Campbell, Katherine Best, and John Best.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2002 at New Providence Presbyterian Church. Pastors officiating include Emily J. Anderson. Her ashes will be placed in the New Providence cemetery by the family prior to the service. The family will receive friends after the memorial service in the sanctuary of New Providence Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Maryville College, Blount County Public Library, or New Providence Presbyterian Church Music Fund. LOUISE DAVIS RIZZARDI
Louise Davis Rizzardi (Grandma Candybar) age 95 of Maryville died at the home of her son, Ned Rizzardi, Thursday, May 30, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. preceded in death by: Husband, Louis T. Rizzardi; Daughter, Juanita Davis; Daughter-in-law, Wilma C. Rizzardi; Mother, Jane Ann Davis; Father, George F. Davis; With her husband, they ran the Spot, Blount Lunch, Quickway and Southern Cafe Restaruants in Maryville. Survivors include: Son, Ned W. Rizzardi; Daughter, Grace Cooter; Half-sister, Ruth Dameron, 12 Grandchildren; 27 Great-Grandchildren. Special thanks to caregivers, Shirley Cottrell, Lynda Cook, Donna Standridge, Cathy Rizzardi, and Wilma Rizzardi. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Smith Mortuary with Rev. Chuck Patrick officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2002 in Woodlawn cemetery in Knoxville. JOHN WESLEY WHITE
John Wesley White, age 100 of Maryville passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where he had served as deacon since 1946. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company in 1968. preceded in death by: Wife, Dora Boring White; Parents, John A. & Mary James White; Brothers, Alse and Lige White; Sisters, Minnie Hodge and Grace Whitehead. Survivors include, Daughter and Son-in-law, Carol & Danny Carter; Granddaughter and husband, Angela and Jerry DeLozier; Grandson and wife, Andy and Crystal Carter; Great-Grandchildren, Austin and Jenna DeLozier, Collin and Faith Carter; Expected Grandchild, Kaelee Carter; Sisters, Nannie McClanahan and Alice Walker; Caregiver, Helen Williams; Special nieces and nephews, many special friends including Olin Marshall and Clinton Russell, and the senior adults at Chilhowee View Community Club. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Pastor Adrian Jones, Rev. David Webster, and Rev. Bill Hart officiating. LUCILLE MORTON CLABOUGH
Lucille Morton Clabough, age 88 of Wildwood, passed away Monday, May 27, 2002, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and was preceded in death by her husbands, J. Frank Morton and Fred Clabough.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian and Moody Lonas of Maryville, Roma and Jack King of Etowah; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Morton of Maryville; son, Gary Morton of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Bartl officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mt. Lebanon cemetery for the interment service.

MARGIE DREWRY DAY
Margie Drewry Day, age 83 of Morning View Village in Maryville, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was a member of Kerns United Methodist Church. She made her home in Oak Ridge, TN where she was a retired underwriter for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until she moved to Maryville last year. Prior to living in Oak Ridge, she resided in Harriman, TN from 1949 until 1964.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and James Buckner of Black Mountain, NC and Rebecca and Gerald Ricketts of Maryville; grandchildren, Donna Burkett and Tom Burkett; great-grandson, Colby Burkett all of Maryville; sister, Ruth Jody Stephens of Clinton; niece and husband, Bettye and Robert Coker of Clinton; long time companion, William A. Kirk of Oak Ridge.
Funeral service 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Mark Flynn of Kerns United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611-9501.
