ERMA EVERETT PESTERFIELD
Erma Everett Pesterfield died at 8:15 a.m. Jan. 19 at Asbury Acres Health Center. Erma, a descendent of the Revolutionary War soldier Robert Everett, was born to Robert Frank and Nellie Williams Everett, on October 12, 1910. She was a sibling of Earl, Earnest, Raymond, Frances and twins Max and Maxie. Erma was reared on Sevierville Road on the farm adjacent to the current Asbury Acres Retirement Center. She was educated at the Chandler School, Everett High School, Maryville College and East Tennesse State Teacher's College, now known as East Tennessee State University.
On February 10, 1933, she married Edgar Lee `Ed' Pesterfield, an ALCOA employee. Two sons were born into this family - Dwain and David. Throughout her life, Erma was a children's educator. For many years she taught in various Blount County Schools. In 1950, she founded Tom Thumb Schoolette, a private nursery and kindergarten - a forerunner to today's public kindergartens. She operated this school until 1974, when she joined her late husband in retirement. She was also active in Christian education at First United Methodist Church in Maryville - a teacher for many years in the nursery department and later Children's Coordinator. Erma was a charter member of the Mu chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional teacher's sorority, and continued this membership until now. In 1979, she received the Distinguished Member Award at First United Methodist Church, where she has been a member for over 60 years. She was an acitve member of the Belle Henry Young Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and Circle 5 of the United Methodist Women, and served as a member of the Hostess Committee for almost 30 years. She was a truly gracious southern lady who enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwain and Jane Pesterfield and David and Betty Jo Pesterfield; by her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Jennifer and Shane Geren, and her grandsons Brad and Brent Pesterfield, her sister and brother-in-law Sam and Maxie Blevens. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Monday in McCammon-Ammon-Click Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Darris Doyal, Rev. Sterling Turner, and Rev. Bob Hayes officiating. The interment will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. OBIEDY ROGERS
Obiedy Rogers, age 74 of Greenback, passed away Friday, December 21, 2001 at the family home. She attended Marble Hill Missionary Baptist Church. preceded in death by parents, Avis and Zelzie Ellison, daughter, Brenda Rogers, and sister, Ann Ellison.
Survivors: Husband: Rufus Rogers; Children: William Rogers of Greenback, Roger Rogers of Greenback, Judy Bass of Maryville, Rufus Rogers, Jr. of Maryville and Ronald Rogers of Maryville; Grandchildren: Brian Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Cory Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Amber Rogers, Adam Rogers and Hannah Bass; Step-grandchildren: James Brown, Charles Brown, Scott Brown, Glenna Brown, Jerry Brown and Genetta Gilbert; Step-great-grandchildren: Jessica Brown, Jennifer Brown, Shieanna Brown, Bryson Gilbert, Breeden Gilbert, Aaron Brown, Coby Brown and Kody Brown; Brothers: Raymond Ellison and Harold Ellison, both of Maryville; Sister: Lois Willocks of Friendsville; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 24, 2001 at Cloyds Creek Presbyterian Church, Rev. Charles Carpenter, Rev. Tyson McKeehan and Rev. Owen Evans officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Obiedy Rogers Fund, Union Planters Bank, 6705 Morganton Road, Greenback, TN 37742. Family received friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2001 at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

PEGGY DENNIS HENDERSON
Peggy Dennis Henderson, 71, Known as 'Miss Peggy' at St. Johns and First Baptist of Alcoa Day cares, departed this life January 18, 2002 at home. preceded in death by parents: Jess and Grace Dennis and in-laws: Randall and Beatrice Henderson.
Survived by husband of 54 years, Bill Henderson. Daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Pat Burns, Marcy and Bobby Long. Son: John Henderson. Grandchildren: Lela and Jeremy Long and Amanda Burns. Sister: Glenda Johnson. Brother: Wayne Dennis. Sisters-in-law: Jo Ann Hatcher and Pat Stiles and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Foothills Church of God. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home, to proceed to Shiloh cemetery in Pigeon Forge for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service with pastors Ronnie Heppersly and Phillip Marshall officiating. BONNIE GLADYS HILL
Bonnie Gladys Hill, age 86 of Louisville, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2002 at the family home. She was of the Baptist faith. preceded in death by husband, Clayton Hill. Parents, Henderson and Hazy Bridges Bledsoe.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law: Ralph and Edna Hill of Louisville. Son: Charles Hill of Louisville. Daughter and son-in-law: Arbadella and Troy Pratt of Maryville.
Grandchildren: Trent Hill, Connie Crittenden, Susan Hill, Donnie Pratt, Cathy Tulloch, Melissa Strickland, Renee Ward, Kari Hill. Great-grandchildren: Brad Crittenden, Kayla Tulloch, Evan Tulloch, Jayden ward. Sisters: Nancy Longmire of Blaine, Tn., Nora Bell Hogan of Birmingham, Alabama. Several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2002 for graveside service and internment, Rev. Gene Gann officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the Magnolia Chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

ROBERT `BOB' EDWARD LANE
Robert 'Bob' Edward Lane passed away Jan. 18, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by parents: Elmer and Ida Mae Lane. Brothers: Ralph and Bill Lane.
Survivors: Daughter: crystal Chapman and grandson Christopher Waylon Chapman and Sandy of Maryville. Brother: Jim Lane. Sisters: Hazel Poe, Elizabeth Ogle, Ida Mae Archer and Eunice Morris, all of Knoxville. Sons: Robert 'Bobby' and Jimmy Lane of Maryville and Ricky Lane who is in the Air Force. Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Family will receive friends Sunday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services to follow in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Hodge and the Rev. Eli Henry officiating. MARY D. MOLER-PALMER
Mary D. Moler-Palmer, age 87 of Friendsville, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 17, 2002 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Member of Friendsville Methodist Church. preceded in death by her first husband for over 50 years, William D. Palmer; second husband, Herbert Moler, daughter: Nellie Van Skiver. Sisters: Ruby Moody, Jo Ann McDaniel. Parents; Jim and Dona Dunlap, Grandchildren; Becky Evans, Kevin Evans, Roddy Palmer.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law; Edna and Coy Evans of Greenback. Sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Cleo Palmer, Glen and Bobbie Palmer, all of Friendsville. Stepson and Wife: David and Ida Moler of Rockford. 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Sister: Evelyn Ayers of Marietta, Ohio. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at 1:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon for the entombment services. GLENN LLOYD QUINTON
Glenn Lloyd Quinton, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2002 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center from a long battle with cancer. He attended Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He was retired from ALCOA; a member of their 25-Year Club; a veteran of World War II. preceded in death by: Parents, John Quinton and Linda Quinton; Brothers, Lawrence and J.C. Quinton; Sister, Eva Quinton.
Survivors include: Wife, Carrie Lane Quinton; Children and spouses, Ronnie and Judy Quinton; Gail and Steve Wilson, Shirley and Dick McGill. Grandchildren and spouses, Rhonda and Donnie Douglas, Sherri and Lee Townsend, April and Tim Rogers, Michaella McGill, Chris Carver and fiance Sonja Davis; Great-grandchildren, Stephanie Douglas, Daniel Douglas, Haden Townsend, Hunter Townsend, Faith and Zeke Rogers; Brothers, Ralph Quinton and Red Quinton; Sisters, Katie Ailey, Ruby Patton, all of Maryville, Jewell Buchanan of Jasper, GA; Special Brother-in-law, Claude Lane.

JAMES HOWARD `JIMMY' TEFFETELLER
James Howard 'Jimmy' Teffeteller, age 66 of Maryville passed away Tuesday morning, January 15, 2002 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. Member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Louisville, where he was music director and pianist. He has been a music lover since an early age, he played piano and taught and sung gospel music in California for over 20 years. He was manager of the Hair Gallery in Maryville where he worked until his retirement. preceded in death by parents, George and Neppie Russell Teffeteller; sisters, Geneva, Sarah; brother, Earl Teffeteller.
Survivors: brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Pat Teffeteller of Maryville, J.R. and Mary Teffeteller of California; sisters, Dorothy J. Teffeteller of Maryville, Marie Eggers of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; host of friends. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2002 St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3359 Louisville Rd., Louisville, TN. Dr. Jeff Lambert officiating.

JETTIE CRAIG
Jettie Craig, age 91 of Richmond, IN, formerly of Maryville, TN, died Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, IN. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville, TN and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Craig; son, Melvin Craig; 5 brothers; 3 sisters.
Survivors include: son, Ralph E. Craig of San Angelo, TX; grandchildren, Denise D'Adda of Ft. Benning, GA, Bryan C. Craig of San Angelo, TX; great-grandson, Dustin D'Adda; sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Lela) Kerr of Maryville, TN; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Carpenters cemetery in Maryville, TN with Dr. Jerald Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN.

Lura Myers of Greenville, S.C., died Wed., January 16, in Greenville, S.C., on her mother's birthday. She was preceded in death by her father: Richard Huskey. Mother: Nellie Huskey. Also her beloved papa West Green, Jr.
Survived: by her sister: Donna Epps of Maryville. Husband of 20 years Ivan Hamby. Children: lisa Headrick, Lee Frye of Sevierville, TN, Billy Joe Myers and Ross (Tad) Myers of S.C. Charles 'Diddle' Ridge, 76 of Townsend, passed away January 16, 2002 at Fort Sanders Hospital. Member of Freedom To Worship Church, retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 Year Club. preceded in death by mother, Mamie Mason; sister, Geneva Brakebill; granddaughter, Charli Ridge.
Survived by wife of 56 years, Geneva Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Sue Ridge of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Ronnie Hepperly of Townsend; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Thursday in Mynatt's Chapel with the Rev. Dale Buchanan officiating. Family and friends will meet at New Gray cemetery 11 a.m. Friday for interment. Pallbearers will be Bryan Hepperly, Hank Hepperly, Spencer Ridge, Stacey Ridge, Joe Thornhill, and Jim Bunch. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mynatt's.

LOUANNE MILLER
LouAnne Miller, age 63 of Maryville, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her mother, Kate C. Pike.
Survivors include: husband, Larry G. Miller of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Ethel Lofton of Reliance, TN; stepfather, Dean A. Pike of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Greg Glenn; nephews, Dean Lofton, Michael Lofton, Keith Lofton, Miller A. Glenn; niece, Megan LouAnne Glenn.
