Survivors: wife, Mabel Carpenter; sons, Jack Carpenter of Thompson, Ohio, Randall Carpenter of Knoxville, Richard Carpenter of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Constance Dawson of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 10 a.m. Saturday Greenwood cemetery in Knoxville for the interment. Friends may call at their convenience after 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

HALL, RICHARD, 58, of Carthage, died Tuesday, May 1, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital. He was retired from the William L. Bonnell Co.
Survivors: son, Rickey Hall of Tanglewood; mother, Leona Rucker of Lebanon; one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at Sanderson Funeral Home, Carthage. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morganton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

HUTTON, MARY R., 79, of Friendsville died Wednesday, May 2 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

JOHNSON, BERT THOMAS, 77, of Garden Prairie, III., formerly of Maryville, died Tuesday, May 1, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, Ill.
Survivors: daughters, Rena O'Howell, Jean Salazar, both of Garden Prairie, Ill., Jane Ballok of Belvidere, Ill; sons, Albert Hill of Maryville, Richard Hill of Belvidere, Ill., Lester H. Hill, Thomas J. Johnson, both of Garden Prairie, Ill., Donald R. Johnson of Maryville; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, J.D. Johnson of Indiana and Paul Johnson of Maryville; sisters, Hope McCoy, Violet Goodwin, both of Maryville.
Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Williamson Chapel cemetery for the interment service. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

MCFALL, BARBARA, of Friendsville, died Wednesday, May 2, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

MILLSAPS, FRENDLESS, 75, of Maryville, died Wednesday, May 2, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from ALCOA.
Survivors: wife, Edna Woods Millsaps; daughters, Beverly (Diane) Russell of Maryville, Linda Harbison of Greenback, Brenda Best of Louisville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Lee Potter, Norma Whitehead, both of Maryville; brother, Elmer Millsaps of Lenoir City.
Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Christian Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday for the interment at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

BROYLES, EDNA L., 90, Maryville, died Friday, May 4, at her home.
Survivors: sister, Elsie Edmondson of Mobile, Ala.; brother, Ralph Broyles of Maryville.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

CUMMINGS, HELEN, 68, St. Paul, Minn., died May 3. The body will be returned to Maryville, and funeral arrangements will be announced by Foothills Funeral Home.

MILLSAPPS, ELMER E., 70, Maryville, died Friday, May 4, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Survivors: wife, Helen Ruth Millsapps; children, Jim Millsapps, Darrell Millsapps, Becky Trotter; three grandchildren; stepsister, Mamie Purkey.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment. Friends may call at their convenience after 11 a.m. today at the mortuary. The family will be receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

WILLIAMS, CHARLES A., 81, Louisville, died Saturday, May 5, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Memorial Funeral Home.

ATKINSON, KENNETH CHARLES, died on May 7 at Asbury Acres Health Center. He retired from Rockwell International in Pittsburgh.

DUTTON, CLOEVA HEATHERLY, 80, Alcoa, died Sunday, May 6, at her home.
