Melvin Owen `MO' Luttrell
Melvin Owen (MO) Luttrell, 87, of Sevierville passed away Friday, November 30, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospice Residence in Knoxville. He was retired from TVA with 35 years of service at Chief of Public Safety. Mr. Luttrell was a member of the Sevierville Lions Club, the Fraternal Order of Police and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Hacker Luttrell; parents, James Daniel and Hugh Lawson Dickson Luttrell; sisters, Mary Wyrick and Ida Keough.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dora Hacker Luttrell; son, Mel Luttrell and wife, Reba of Maryville; grandsons, Andy Luttrell and wife, Tracy of Maryville, Brad Luttrell and wife Courtney of Chattanooga; special niece, Betty Hart Clepper of Seymour; special friends, Charlie Bishop and Hettie Manting; special neighbors, Robert and Janet Davis and Jim and Betty Lewelling; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Shiloh cemetery with Rev. Bob Ely officiating. Interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Rawlings Funeral Home, 212 Court Avenue, Sevierville, TN. Phone (865) 453-5556. Robert Windsor Culveyhouse
Robert Windsor Culveyhouse passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church. He graduated from Maryville High School and attended Maryville College. He was employed by ALCOA for 43 years and was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a 50 year member of New Providence Lodge. He was an avid UT football fan and Lady Vols basketball fan. In earlier years he enjoyed camping and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. He was preceded in death by: first wife, Marion Culveyhouse; mother and father, James L. and Fannie Franklin Culveyhouse; grandfather, Robert Hanks Edington; sisters, Maggie and Ethel Culveyhouse, Mayme Raulston, Willie Mae Harris, Mable Floyd, Bertha Bivens, Frances Driver and Grace Lane; brothers, Arthur and Pharis Culveyhouse; nieces, Mary Shields, Jerry Norton, and Wilma Rose; nephews, W.B. Bivens, Paul Floyd and Harry Harris.
Survivors include: wife, Zelda Church Culveyhouse; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charlie Rogers; sister-in-law, Velma Church of Knoxville; nieces, Eloise Prater and Frances Bivens; nephews, Ullin Bivens of Georgia and Tommy Harris of Florida; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2001, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview cemetery for the interment. Verla Jean Sands 'Nanny' McCollum, age 69, of Maryville, died Thursday, November 29, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McCollum.

William Houston Myers, age 86, of Maryville, passed away Thursday morning, November 29, 2001, at the family home. Member of Memorial Baptist Church, Duncan Road, Maryville. Retired from Alcoa and a member of the 25 Year Club. preceded in death by wife, Ruth L. Tipton Myers; son, William H. Myers; grandson, Rodney Jay Myers; brothers, Mack Myers and Johnny Myers; half-brothers, James 'Doc' Myers, Nathan Myers, Peter Myers; half-sisters, Dora Patty, Texana Burns, Elizabeth Rudd.

WILTON ALEXANDER 'SANDY' ADAMS
Wilton Alexander 'Sandy' Adams, age 72 of Friendsville, TN, formerly of Knoxville, passed away suddenly November 29 at his home. He was born in Lumberton, NC and served in the U.S. Army. He was an account executive with the Vernon Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kizer Adams, whom he met while serving in the Army in Panama.
Survivors include: children, Shirley Adams Clevenger; son-in-law, Daniel L. Clevenger; son, Robert Adams, daughter-in-law, Rosalie Adams; grandchildren, Lee Alexander Clevenger and wife Natalie, Christopher Ryan Clevenger, Ashley Nichole Clevenger, Christina Ann Adams, Patrick Paul Adams; great grandchildren, Mark Alexander Clevenger, Oliva Ellice Clevenger; sister, Ruth Adams Honeycutt; sister-in-law, Geraldine Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Stewart officiating. The interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

George Wilson Carroll, age 74 of Maryville, TN, and Waterloo, Iowa died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville, TN and First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a Veteran of Foreign War.
Preceded in death by: parents, Frank and Wanda Carroll; brother, Gerald Carroll; sister, Ila Achenbach.

Rue Macken Frerichs, age 74, of Madisonville, a prominent barber for 45 years, passed away 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Vonore United Methodist Church, Veteran of U.S. Army serving in World War II and awarded a WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal while in Germany.

Iva Georgia Loggins, age 72 of Seymour, died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Community Baptist Church of Knoxville.

Lula E. Phelps, age 88, of South Knoxville, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Hillcrest South. She was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Retired from Deaconess Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Anthony Phelps.
Survivors: daughter, Ruby Brimm; son, William Phelps; grandchildren, Bobby Brimm, Jr. and wife, Angela; Betty Wayman; great grandchildren, Caleb, April, Jason, and Joshua Phelps, Marshall Jr., Joe and Shannon Wayman, Brianna Brimm.
She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed.
