WELCH, HERBERT, 88, Alcoa, died Saturday, Dec. 1, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Foothills Funeral Home.

Melvin Owen `MO' Luttrell
Melvin Owen (MO) Luttrell, 87, of Sevierville passed away Friday, November 30, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospice Residence in Knoxville. He was retired from TVA with 35 years of service at Chief of Public Safety. Mr. Luttrell was a member of the Sevierville Lions Club, the Fraternal Order of Police and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Hacker Luttrell; parents, James Daniel and Hugh Lawson Dickson Luttrell; sisters, Mary Wyrick and Ida Keough.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dora Hacker Luttrell; son, Mel Luttrell and wife, Reba of Maryville; grandsons, Andy Luttrell and wife, Tracy of Maryville, Brad Luttrell and wife Courtney of Chattanooga; special niece, Betty Hart Clepper of Seymour; special friends, Charlie Bishop and Hettie Manting; special neighbors, Robert and Janet Davis and Jim and Betty Lewelling; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Shiloh cemetery with Rev. Bob Ely officiating. Interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Rawlings Funeral Home, 212 Court Avenue, Sevierville, TN. Phone (865) 453-5556. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918.

Robert Windsor Culveyhouse
Robert Windsor Culveyhouse passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church. He graduated from Maryville High School and attended Maryville College. He was employed by ALCOA for 43 years and was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a 50 year member of New Providence Lodge. He was an avid UT football fan and Lady Vols basketball fan. In earlier years he enjoyed camping and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. He was preceded in death by: first wife, Marion Culveyhouse; mother and father, James L. and Fannie Franklin Culveyhouse; grandfather, Robert Hanks Edington; sisters, Maggie and Ethel Culveyhouse, Mayme Raulston, Willie Mae Harris, Mable Floyd, Bertha Bivens, Frances Driver and Grace Lane; brothers, Arthur and Pharis Culveyhouse; nieces, Mary Shields, Jerry Norton, and Wilma Rose; nephews, W.B. Bivens, Paul Floyd and Harry Harris.
Survivors include: wife, Zelda Church Culveyhouse; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charlie Rogers; sister-in-law, Velma Church of Knoxville; nieces, Eloise Prater and Frances Bivens; nephews, Ullin Bivens of Georgia and Tommy Harris of Florida; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2001, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview cemetery for the interment. VERLA JEAN SANDS `NANNY' MCCOLLUM
Verla Jean Sands 'Nanny' McCollum, age 69, of Maryville, died Thursday, November 29, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McCollum.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sara Stinnett; son, John Poplin; daughters, Brenda White and Tammy Shoemaker; grandchildren, Ginger Davenport and husband, Kevin, Todd Shoemaker, Misty Poplin, Jamie Cable, Selena Hensley, Kendal Stinnett, Jake Stinnett, and Morgan Stinnett; great-grandchild, Carson Davenport; brother, Earl Sands; friends, Jerry Pirtle, Karen Walker, Tom Shoemaker, Tamera Saunders, and Paula Dunbar.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove cemetery in Greenback for interment service. WILLIAM HOUSTON MYERS
William Houston Myers, age 86, of Maryville, passed away Thursday morning, November 29, 2001, at the family home. Member of Memorial Baptist Church, Duncan Road, Maryville. Retired from Alcoa and a member of the 25 Year Club. preceded in death by wife, Ruth L. Tipton Myers; son, William H. Myers; grandson, Rodney Jay Myers; brothers, Mack Myers and Johnny Myers; half-brothers, James 'Doc' Myers, Nathan Myers, Peter Myers; half-sisters, Dora Patty, Texana Burns, Elizabeth Rudd.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Sammie Gale Pickens Myers, Jonathan C. and Nancy Jean Yearout Myers all of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Elaine Myers of Pell City, AL; grandsons and spouses, Craig and Sally Myers, Jon Jason and Alena Myers, Jeffrey Scott Myers, David Kevin Myers; great-grandchildren, Brett, Andy, Little Kevin; sister, Kate Burchfield of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001, Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Carl White, Rev. Harry Sherrer officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday at Cades Cove Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

BETTY J. YOUNG
Betty J. Young, age 68, of Maryville, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Houston Memorial Presbyterian Church. preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Hattie Davis; brother, Alvin Davis; sister, Maxine Arango; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Ina Young.
Survivors: husband, Kenneth Young; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Leonard Amburn of Maryville; son, Audie Young of Maryville; grandson, Kenny Amburn; sisters, Mary Ball of Oak Ridge, Almeda Helton of Maryville; Rhea Evelyn Patterson of Maryville; brother, Wayne Davis of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2001, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Richard Smilie officiating. Interment to follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

WILTON ALEXANDER 'SANDY' ADAMS
Wilton Alexander 'Sandy' Adams, age 72 of Friendsville, TN, formerly of Knoxville, passed away suddenly November 29 at his home. He was born in Lumberton, NC and served in the U.S. Army. He was an account executive with the Vernon Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kizer Adams, whom he met while serving in the Army in Panama.
Survivors include: children, Shirley Adams Clevenger; son-in-law, Daniel L. Clevenger; son, Robert Adams, daughter-in-law, Rosalie Adams; grandchildren, Lee Alexander Clevenger and wife Natalie, Christopher Ryan Clevenger, Ashley Nichole Clevenger, Christina Ann Adams, Patrick Paul Adams; great grandchildren, Mark Alexander Clevenger, Oliva Ellice Clevenger; sister, Ruth Adams Honeycutt; sister-in-law, Geraldine Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Stewart officiating. The interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

GEORGE WILSON CARROLL
George Wilson Carroll, age 74 of Maryville, TN, and Waterloo, Iowa died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville, TN and First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a Veteran of Foreign War.
Preceded in death by: parents, Frank and Wanda Carroll; brother, Gerald Carroll; sister, Ila Achenbach.
Survivors include: wife, Fern Marilla Loomis Carroll; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin Jay and Carol Carroll of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, Gay Emily and Lester Orr of Maryville; grandchildren, Matthew John Carroll of Waterloo, Iowa, Courtney Nicole Orr and Alexander Justin Orr of Maryville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, James and Doris Murray of LeClaire, Iowa; sister, Bernice Hites of Brownsville, NE.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Parrott & Wood Funeral Home in Waterloo, Iowa in charge of arrangements.

RUE MACKEN FRERICHS
Rue Macken Frerichs, age 74, of Madisonville, a prominent barber for 45 years, passed away 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Vonore United Methodist Church, Veteran of U.S. Army serving in World War II and awarded a WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal while in Germany.
Survivors: wife, Jane Underwood Frerichs; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Allan Benton, Madisonville, Pattie and Bill McCulley, Nancy and Greg Garza; son and daughter-in-law, Delano and Cindy Frerichs, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Suzanne, Elizabeth and Darrell Benton, of Madisonville, Melanie, Leslie and Joshua Frerichs, Neil Howerton, Hannah McCulley, Daniel Garza, all of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Reva and Robert Arnwine, Jefferson City; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Frerichs, Tellico Plains; many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, Howard L. and Flora West Frerichs; sisters, Thelvia and Dorothy Frerichs, Myrle F. Laybourne; brothers, Wayford Frerichs and Elton Frerichs Sr.; grandson, Bradley Dulaney Benton.
Funeral 8:00 p.m. Friday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Walter Barton and Rev. Darrell Rasnake officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday in Vonore Methodist cemetery with military honors by Sweetwater VFW Post 5156. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

IVA GEORGIA LOGGINS
Iva Georgia Loggins, age 72 of Seymour, died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Community Baptist Church of Knoxville.
Preceded in death by: daughter, Dot McGill Loggins; stepson, Bill McGill.
Survivors include: husband, Stanley Loggins; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Kathy McGill of Alcoa, Junior and Wanda McGill of Rockford; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Lonas 'Sonny' Compton of Rockford, Glenda and Robert Sayne of Seymour, Phyllis and Bill Jones of Maryville, Sylvia and Bill Carringer of Rockford; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; sister, Dorothy Bales of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Ron Kelley of Johnson City; sisters-in-law, Mary Lee and husband Tommy Adams of Seymour; mother-in-law, Louise Loggins of Seymour. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2001 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Carlos Owenby officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for entombment. JACQUELINE MARIE OLIVER
Jacqueline Marie Oliver, age 39 of Greenback passed away Wednesday morning, November 28, 2001.
Survivors: husband, David D. Oliver; daughters, Shirley Elizabeth Oliver, Taylor Marie Oliver; son, Forrest Wesley Oliver all of Greenback; parents, Jack and Shirley Eskew of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; sisters, Patricia Wrobledski of Oklahoma, Theresa Moran of California, Kelly Eskew of Mississippi; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001 Morganton Cemetery. Mr. Buff Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. til 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

LULA E. PHELPS
Lula E. Phelps, age 88, of South Knoxville, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Hillcrest South. She was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Retired from Deaconess Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Anthony Phelps.
Survivors: daughter, Ruby Brimm; son, William Phelps; grandchildren, Bobby Brimm, Jr. and wife, Angela; Betty Wayman; great grandchildren, Caleb, April, Jason, and Joshua Phelps, Marshall Jr., Joe and Shannon Wayman, Brianna Brimm.
She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Berry Chapel with Rev. Boyd Bingham III officiating. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bobby Joe Brimm, Jr., Marshall Wayman, Sr., Marshall Wayman, Jr., Jerry Haynes, Billy Boling, and Marvin Boling. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
