Shirley Joy Morton Burchfield, age 46 of Maryville passed away Monday evening September 17, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by son: Jeremy Scott Burchfield.
Survivors: sons -- Jerry Lynn Burchfield of South Carolina, Randall J. Burchfield of Kodak. Daughter: Hope Burchfield of Maryville. Parents: Willard and Geneva Payne Morton of Maryville. Sisters: Connie Fielder of Maryville, Sharon Brackins of Sevierville. Brother: Johnathan Burchfield of Norfolk, Va. Several uncles, aunts, cousins, many great friends. Family and friends will meet at Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church cemetery (Red Top) at 2:00 p.m. Friday September 21, 2001 for graveside service and interment Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. RAY W. HUSKEY
Ray W. Huskey, age 77 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2001. He was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church and retired from ALCOA Aluminum Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lillie Huskey; brothers, Mel, Arlie, Hugh and Herm Huskey; sister, Georgia Ogle.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lucy Hembree Huskey; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Christine Huskey, Ralph and Robin Huskey all of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Sam McInturff of Greenback; grandsons, Randy and Jordan Huskey, Adam and Caleb McInturff; granddaughter, Shelley Huskey; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Heather Huskey; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Rowena Huskey of Alcoa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Thursday, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Beecher Whitehead and Rev. Jim Wells officiating. The family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2001 at Mattox cemetery for the interment. MARY LOUISE HOUSEHOLDER HODGE
Mary Louise Householder Hodge, 77, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at the Hillcrest North Nursing Home. Mrs. Hodge was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hodge; grandson, Michael Hodge; parents, John and Belle McNelly Householder; brother, Carl Householder.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Poole, Rick Hodge; brother, Andrew Householder and wife Lucille of Knoxville; sister, Johnnie Hood and husband Robert of Seymour.
Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Morgan Phillips and Rev. Tom Robins officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21 at Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 21 at Rawlings Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Rufus Carl Raines, age 86 of Friendsville passed away Tuesday evening September 18, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by first wife, Iva Mae Raines. Son: Carl Leonard Raines, granddaughter: Heather Bain, grandsons: Edwin DeWayne Law, Robert Raines.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Charles O. Funkhouser of Maryville, Carol and Walt Bain of Friendsville. Son: Clarence Raines of Georgia. Sons and daughters-in-law: Tommy and Lucy Raines of Maryville, Larry and Alice Raines of Knoxville. Daughter-in-law: Linda Raines of Illinois. 17 grandchildren. DR. JOHN BUNYAN RIGGSBEE
Dr. John Bunyan Riggsbee, age 80, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the Mariner Health Care Center. He was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church and had served previously as a deacon and teacher at Robertsville Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and First Baptist Church of Maryville. He was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill in 1939 and Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 1943. His medical career included 30 years in the Navy Medical Corps with active duty during WWII and the Korean Conflict. His civilian medical career included serving as Director of Student Health at Georgia Tech for 16 years, student health physician at Vanderbilt University, medical service at the K-25 plant in Oak Ridge and retired in 1984 from UT Knoxville Student Health Service. preceded in death by grandson, James Southerland. Dr. Riggsbee was born December 13, 1920 in Chatham County, North Carolina to T.V. and Sallie Curry Riggsbee.
Survivors: wife of 60 years, Margaret Seale Riggsbee of Clinton; children, Nancy Massey and husband, Vance of Claremore, OK, Susan Sallin of Birmingham, AL, Mark Riggsbee of Smyrna, TN, Edwin Riggsbee of Knoxville; grandchildren: William and Captain David Southerland, Michelle Tindell, Megan Thomas, Bracken Sallin; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, E. Lloyd Riggsbee and wife, Betty of Chapel Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday in the chapel with Rev. Mattie E. Cromwell 'Edie' English, age 73 of Alcoa, passed away Monday evening, September 17, 2001, at the family home. She was a member of Praise Temple Assembly of God in Alcoa.

Opal E. Keller, 87, of Alcoa, died Monday September 17, 2001, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Tippie Adkins Ellison. Twin brother: Bo Ellison. Brothers and sister: Cleo Queener, Sylvester Ellison, and Chester Ellison. Stepchildren: Dewayne Keller, Peggy Bulen.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Delta and Earl Derrick of Alcoa. Grandchildren: Michelle and Chris White of Maryville, Julia and Larry Strong of Danville, IN, Ken Derrick of Alcoa, Amanda Billingsley. Stepchildren: Wilma Jean High, and Dewell Keller both of Anderson, IN. Brother and sisters: Jimmy Ellison of Lafollette, Viola Cox of Clinton, Roberta Baird of Palmetto, FL. ANNA MAE (DIXSON) PROSSER
Anna Mae (Dixson) Prosser, 71, of Lakeside, Ore., had funeral services Saturday, September 15, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport, Ore. Interment was Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Willamette National cemetery In Portland, Ore., at 10 a.m. Anna was born May 11, 1930, in Hamblin Co. Tenn., to Samuel and Leona Dixson. She died on September 12, 2001, from complications of pancreatic cancer. She was employed as the back kitchen manager at Saylor's Old Country Kitchen in Portland for many years. After being a long-time Portland resident, Anna moved to Lakeside in 1988. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Prosser, Jr.
She is survived by her stepsons, Mark Prosser, Larry Prosser, and Rob Prosser; her brothers, Carroll R. Dixson and James Dixson; her sisters, Betty Stouter, Joyce Winfree, Mary Marshall, Dorothy Sitten, Polly Bales, and Anne Laurence. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marcus Isaac Tyler Sr., age 86, of 1218 Tellico St. S., Madisonville, passed away 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2001, at Sweetwater Hospital. Son of the late Jasper N. and Tip Rogers Tyler. Retired from ALCOA, member of the 25 Year Club, member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the Tellico Masonic Lodge #80 F&AM.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and John Fain, Sweetwater, Linda and J.W.
