Margie Mae Riddle Millsaps, age 76, of 560 Liberality Rd., Madisonville, passed away 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999 at Wood Presbyterian Home after a lengthy illness.

Mary Doris Brown, 70, of Maryville, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital.

BORDEN, CLYDE, 82, of Anaheim, Calif. and formerly of Blount County, died Jan. 5 in Anaheim. - 01/12/99
The body will be cremated, and the cremains interred with Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress, Calif.

AKERS, TROY HARRISON, 69, of Nashville and formerly of Blount County, died Saturday, Jan. 9, in Nashville. - 01/11/99
He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Education, vocational rehabilitation.

Bertie Pickens, age 65, of Maryville received victory with the Lord on Jan. 4, 1999 at 12:35 a.m. at Blount Memorial Hospital.

LOLA HOWARD HATCHER, 79, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, at University of Tennessee Medical Center. - 01/08/99
Survivors: daughters, Laura Clifton, Kathleen Henderson, Ila Webb, Brenda Smith and Karen Rogers; sons, Ed Hatcher, J.H. Hatcher, Otha Hatcher; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ila Adams and Edith Carter.

HENRY, ERNEST LLOYD, 60, of Walland, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, at Maryville Health Care Center. - 01/07/99
Survivors: mother, Bernice Hatcher Henry; brother, Willard Henry, of Walland.

He was retired from the Mead Corp.

Nell E. Dean Gentry Brown, widow of Roy Lester Gentry and Edgar Brown, of 141 Fowler St., Vonore, passed away 5:13 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 at U.T. Hospital.
She was a retired public school teacher.

Willadean O. 'Tootsie' Coppock, age 67 of Knoxville, passed away Feb. 22, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Ophelia L. Achoe of Louisville departed this life Feb. 21, 1999 after a brief illness.

William Eugene Larue, age 72, of Knoxville, died on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Railee Charlotte Bowers, age 15 months, of Maryville died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999 at Children's Hospital, Knoxville.

Albert R. Jones, age 73 of Maryville, died at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Fairpark Nursing Home. He was retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he attended Pilgrim Baptist Church.

BURNS, ALVIN M., 70, of Hixson, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 in a Chattanooga area hospital. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Harrison Bay State Park.

Charles H. Carroll, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Bungalow United Methodist Church, retired from ALCOA with over 42 years of service and member of the 25-Year Club. Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict.

Lillian Bernice Loving Brown, age 78 of Alcoa departed this life Monday, Feb. 15, 1999 at Asbury Acres Health Center.

Mary Catherine Haney, age 75 of Maryville, died at 8:04 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 1999 at Asbury Acres Nursing Home.

COOPER, GENEVIEVE B., 74, of Maryville, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 12, at Fort Sanders Park West Medical Center, Knoxville. - 02/15/99
Survivors include daughter, Alice Crye of Maryville; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; sister, Jean Kagley of Maryville; brothers, George Ernest Blevins of Tallassee, J.D. Blevins of Alcoa.

Paul Goodman Sharp, age 90 of Culloden, Ga., formerly of Alcoa, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999 in Culloden, Ga. He attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Louisville, Tenn. He retired from ALCOA. He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Ada Davenport Sharp and parents, George and Ida Sharp.

Peggy Jean Davidson Henderson, age 78 of Maryville, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and was former President of the altar guild. She was a graduate of Alcoa High School and a graduate of Knoxville Business College.

Robert Hubbard, age 94 of Etowah, formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 9, 1999 at Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah. preceded in death by wife, Mary Ellen Hubbard; sons, Edward and Roy Hubbard.

John E. Pate, age 72, of Knoxville, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. He was a graduate of The University of Tennessee. He was a member of Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church. He served as a missionary in Cochabamba, Bolivia for 3 years, along with being a Minister of Education in San Antonio, Texas for 2 years. Upon return from his missionary work, he taught in the Knox City and Knox County School Systems for a total of 31 years prior to retirement. He was a Boy Scout Leader in the `60s, an avid reader, bird watcher and an advocate for youth in our community.

Katheryn Adaline (Fullwood) Alexander, age 88 of Rockford departed this life Monday, Feb. 1, 1999 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center.

John Echard Cutshaw, age 93 of Maryville died early Monday morning, Feb. 1, 1999 at his home. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and a Mason. He was a former Blount County School Board Member and operated Cutshaw Grocery Store for many years.

Clarence Leonard Baker, age 73 of Greenback, died at 3:43 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He retired from Scruggs Restaurant Equipment. preceded in death by: parents, Clifford and Rena Baker; two brothers; five sisters.

Lloyd Baumgardner, age 87 of Maryville died at 2:06 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at the family home. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II in the European Theater. He retired from Sears and Roebuck with over 20 years of service.
