ROBERT D. PASS, SR.
Robert D. Pass, Sr., age 73, of Allen Park, MI, formerly of Friendsville, TN passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2005. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Retired from General Motors.
Preceded in death by: parents, Erskin and Mary Pass; son, Robert D. Pass II; daughter, Cheryl Rau; sisters, Margaret Pass and Gladys Stafford; brother, Donald Pass.
Survivors: wife of his children, Beverly Pass of Allen Park, MI; daughters, Deborah Pass of MI, Darlene Amolsch of Smyrna, TN, Robin Pass-Mays of MI; and son, Robert D. Pass III of Allen Park, MI; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah Burns, Della Graves, Katie Walten, Anna Rae Cupp; brother, LeeRoy Pass all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will assemble for graveside service Friday, February 4, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Friends Meeting House, Rev. Paul Dyer officiating.
VALICE GUY MARTIN BRYANT
Valice Guy Martin Bryant, age 69 of Morristown, formerly of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2005, at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Assembly Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha 'John' Bryant; parents, George and Angie Guy; daughter, Gail Martin Miller; granddaughter, Scarlet Miller; brothers, M.D., R.C. and Tommy Guy; and sister, Dorothy Nichols.
Survivors: daughter, Lisa Bryant and Fiancee, Lt. Terry Malone; granddaughters, Charlotte Dennis and husband, Timothy, Renee and Ashley Miller; grandsons, Scott Miller and wife, Tonya, Adam and Timothy Miller; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Wayne, Katlyn, Taylor, Timmy, Haley, Destiny, Devon, Erin, Mikey, Nick and Autumn; several nieces and nephews; a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mayes Mortuary with the Rev. Kenny Davis; and brother, Richard Crane officiating. Interment will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the mortuary.

John Edward Hitch, age 73 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. He was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church, Consultant and past general manager of Mercedes Benz of Knoxville. He was a 32 Mason, member of the George Washington Lodge #181 of Louisville and a Shriner.
Survivors include: wife, Barbara "Jo" Phelps Hitch; son and daughter-in-law, John Michael and Lesa Millsaps Hitch; grandchildren, Jay Hitch of Louisville, April Morton of Louisville and Brandi Costner of Loudon; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Hitch Wilson and Gordon Wilson; niece, Betty Wilson Quickel and her husband Dan; great-nephew, William Brooks Quickel; special friends, Chuck and Nita Jordon of Texas, Thomas and Carrie Bethea of Knoxville, Steve and Beth Wigley of Louisville, Bill and Caroline Young of Louisville, Faye and Harold Manning of Maryville.

Howard S. Stephens, age 86 of Maryville departed this life January 30, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a loving father. He retired from ALCOA with 42 years of service. He was a Veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army. preceded in death by: wife, Ruth Stephens; mother and father, Cora and Oscar Stephens; brothers, Earl and Kenneth Stephens; infant twins, Irmalee and J.C. Stephens. JAMES `BUSTER' LYLE MARTIN
James (Buster) Lyle Martin, age 84, a resident of Home Away From Home in Maryville, Tennessee, was born March 3, 1920, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to the late Rev. Albert Sr. and Lelia Martin. he was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Maryville Health Care Center. At an early age his family moved to Alcoa where he completed his school years at Charles M. Hall School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving n World War II.
He was preceded in death by parents, four sisters and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory brothers, Albert Martin Jr. of Nashville and Avery Martin of Maryville; sisters, Maggie Whitted and Marva Reed, both of Maryville; sister-in-law Elizabeth Martin of Maryland; aunts, Jessie Crabtree of McMinnville, Alma Willmore of Ohio and Livy D. Hall of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James Howard "Muncey" Sloan, age 82, of Walland, passed away January 28, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of ALCOA's 25-Year Club and a Veteran of World War II with the 199th Anti-Aircraft Battery A. He was a lifetime resident of the Rocky Branch Community. preceded in death by: wife, Myrle Marine Sloan; parents, Joe & Mamie Sloan. BENNIE GENE `BUZZ' SADLER
Bennie Gene 'Buzz' Sadler, age 44, of White, Ga., formerly of Covington, Tenn., died Jan. 27, 2005, at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. He was born Dec. 10, 1960. He worked as an electrician for Up to Code Inc. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors: wife, Margo Elizabeth Williamson Sadler, of White, Ga.; daughters, Shannon Sadler and Amber Sadler, both of La Crosse, Wis.; son, Ryan Sadler, of Kingston, Ga.; father and stepmother, Bennie and Juanita Sadler, of Maryville; stepfather and mother, Carey and Jeanette Sadler Wright, of Covington; sisters, Elizabeth Call and Brenda Sadler, both of Covington, and Krystl Sadler, of Maryville; brothers, Curtis Sadler and Charles Sadler, both of Covington; stepbrothers, Sam Owen and Daniel Owen, both of Maryville; two grandchildren.

Vera Wilma Whitehead, age 69, of Maryville passed away Friday, January 28, 2005, at home after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. GEORGE WEBB GARNER
George Webb Garner, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Monday, February 7, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church and the Shields Sunday School Class for more than 50 years. After attending Maryville College where he played football and baseball, he joined the local National Guard in 1941, serving for 5 years. He was a Sgt. in the U. S. Army during World War II serving with Battery C of the 191st Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theater. He was owner/operator of College Cleaners and retired from Burris Realty.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances B. Garner; father and stepmother, George C. and Nelle E. Garner; mother, Georgia Webb Hill; brother, M. A. Garner.
Survivors include daughters, Denice Garner of Maryville, Marcia Garner of Friendsville; son and daughter-in-law, Murray and Jane Ann Garner of Houston, TX; grandsons, William and Adam Garner; sister, Louise Garner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Bob Runion; sisters-in-law, Miriam Bowditch, Lib Bowditch; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Grandview cemetery for a military graveside service with Rev. Dan Moore officiating. Military honors will be provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shields Sunday School Class and members of the 191st Field Artillery Battalion. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews and nephews-in-law.
