William C. 'Bill' Brannon, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Veach May Wilson. He was preceded in death by his sons, William Henry, Wade and Wayne Brannon; parents, Henry and Jenny Brooks Brannon; sister, Hazel Best; brothers, John, Wade, Sam and Cecil Brannon.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lea Brannon; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and John Abbott of Maryville; daughter, Joyce Perkins of Maryville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha McCall of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Salem Baptist Church cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Wayne Trentham officiating.

RUBY SHIRLEY GODFREY
Ruby Shirley Godfrey, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2005. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a faithful and loyal Jehovah's Witness for 58 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Trudy Shirley; by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles W. Godfrey; brothers, Taylor and Glenn Shirley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Kerstin Godfrey of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jodie Millward of Maryville; sisters, Ina Potter of West Virginia, Norma Veness of IL; sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Don Lauderdale of TX; grandchildren, Kim Godfrey of NC, Gina Wasson and husband John of VA, Josh Millward and wife Amy of Greenback, Jason Millward of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Jillian and Natalie Wasson of VA, Brady and Brianna Millward of Greenback; brother-in-law, Tom Godfrey and wife, Edith of Maryville; sisters-in-law, Delores Teffeteller of Maryville, Vernell Godfrey of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Her smiling face will be missed by all her friends from the Kingdom Hall.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall on Middlesettlements Road in Maryville with Elders Gerald Johnson and Pete Davis officiating.

Anna Mae Jones, age 82 of Maryville, passed away Monday, January 17, 2005 at her daughters home. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, retired from Rockford Mfg. Co. after 37 years of service and she was a resident of Broadway Towers. preceded in death by parents, Robert and Cora Jones; husband, Jack Farrar; and brothers, Tommy and Edward Jones. George Wiley Stoutt, age 74 passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. preceded in death by parents, Henry Newton Sr. and Lilie Mae (Abbott) Stoutt; brother, Bobby H. Stoutt; sister, Mary Catherine Haney; niece, Helen Marshall. Survivors include, brothers, Newton Stoutt, Jr., Jimmy L. Rose Aleene Sullivan, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Miss Sullivan was proud of her 25 years' service with Ellis and Ernest Drugs and 25 years with Western Avenue Drugs. She is preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Lennie Mae Hatcher Sullivan; two brothers, Jimmy and Howard Sullivan; two nephews, Arthur Kent and Earl Ray McNeilly. Survived by two sisters, Mary Eloise Myers and Alma Bernice McNeilly, both of Maryville; sister-in-law, Bobbie Sullivan of Knoxville; three nieces, five nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike. CLARENCE E. TINKER
Clarence E. Tinker, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005. Clarence was 91 years old and the widower of Emma Delle Fleming Tinker who passed away on April 17, 2004, and to whom he was married
almost 69 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, W. B. and Cordie Tinker of Sevier County, TN; his siblings; three infant grandchildren, Anthony Clay Tinker, Kevin Carter, Karen Carter; and great-grandson, Josh Lynch.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Billie and Dr. Bob Lynch of Richmond, VA, Georgia and Marion Carter of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Colonel (Ret) Andy and Betty Tinker of Alcoa, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dean (Jackie) Lynch, Mike (Theresa) Lynch, Dr. Dale (Shannon) Lynch, Kelly Pope, Dr. Kent (Diane) Carter, Gary (Julie) Tinker, Sahra (Trey) Ratledge, Dodie (Donny) Hornback, Matthew (Rachel) Tinker, and Andrew Tinker; great-grandchildren are: Jon-Michael, Paige, Cody, Zachary and Ryan Lynch, Daniel and Rachel Pope, Colin Hornback, and R. Houston Ratledge, IV.
Mr. Tinker retired from Twin City Buick after serving his working years in automobile service jobs. He started in Gatlinburg, TN, from which he moved to Maryville with Amos and Andy Buick.
He was a member of two Maryville churches, West Maryville Baptist Church and currently Monte Vista Baptist Church. He served in many capacities of leadership, including deacon at West Maryville and usher at Monte Vista.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service with Rev. Bob Dalton officiating.

Ethel Cunningham Trundle, age 81 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Shannondale Health Care Center of Maryville. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. She met her husband of 56 years, Max K. Trundle while working at ALCOA and they lived on the Trundle family farm in Wildwood all their married
life. She was preceded in death by: husband, Max K. Trundle; parents, Thomas and Edna Cunningham; brother, Carlos Cunningham; sister, Mildred Loveday. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kathy Trundle of Powell and Leon and Kerry Trundle of Maryville; grandchildren, Heather, Wendy, Andrew and Wesley Trundle; sisters, Troy Cunningham, Lona King and Ruby McCarter; brothers, Elmer and Wade Cunningham; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cecile Whaley Bledsoe, age 73, of Lenoir City, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 20, 2005, while in her home surrounded by both her friends and family. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Park West Hospital after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Frank B. Bledsoe. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Larry Scott Bledsoe and fianceé, Brenda Heath, Michael Wayne Bledsoe and wife, Cathy, Bruce Lynn Bledsoe and wife, Terry; six wonderful grandchildren, Stephanie Bledsoe, Laura Bledsoe, Kyle Bledsoe, Chrissy Bledsoe, Drew Robinson, and Skyler Heath all of the Lenoir City and Powell areas; long time friends, sisters-in-law, Katherine Faulkner Rench and Georgia Shaw both of the Knoxville area; several nieces and nephews. A special word of thanks to Mrs. Bledsoe's care givers; Brenda Heath, Karen Isham, Ansley Isham, Brittany Isham, and Yvonne Times. Adele Thompson Carpenter, age 80, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday morning, January 22, 2005, at her home. She was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Adele was a retired cafeteria manager serving 33 years with Loudon County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Cap) Carpenter; parents, Charlie and Zelma Thompson. Survivors include her son, Pastor Charley Carpenter; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Jeff Disney, Linda and Joey Kimbrell, all of Loudon County; five grandsons, Joey Kimbrell Jr., John Kimbrell and wife Amanda, Aaron, Andy and Gene Disney; brother, Charles (Buddy) Thompson of Lenoir City; and sister, Betty Beecher of Missouri; several nieces and nephews. SSGT John R. Cooper, age 56, of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2005, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends at the family home. He attended Gospel Temple Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. He was retired as a Truck Driver from BTR. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sidney and Minnie Belle Cooper; and brothers, Don Wilburn and Glen Cooper. REV. ROBERT S. KEREKES
Rev. Robert S. Kerekes, age 78 of Maryville, TN departed this life on Monday, January 24, 2005. He had been a Lutheran Minister since his ordination in 1951. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri in 1951. He received his Doctor of Theological Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1984. He served congregations in Nevada and Lamar, MO, Ada, OK, Wichita, KS, and the Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Chattanooga. He served as Executive Secretary of Missions of the Southern District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in New Orleans, LA where he retired in 1991. He also served as the first pastor of Praise Lutheran Church in Maryville which was organized in March 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Theresa Philips Kerekes; and his brother, Carl Kerekes. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Emma Lu Frankenberg; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Cindy Kerekes of Charlotte, NC, Alan and Linda Kerekes of Oak Ridge, TN, David and Martha Kerekes of Collierville, TN, Mark and Maggie Kerekes of Roswell, GA; granddaughters, Heather Burgess, Sarah, Emily, Lauren and Katie Kerekes; grandsons, Ryan, Stephen and Kenneth Kerekes; 2 great-grandsons, John and Wesley Burgess; brother and sister-in-law, John G. and Betty Kerekes of Olney, MD; several nieces and nephews.
