RALPH PAYNE
Ralph Payne, age 80 of Lenoir City, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, in his home with his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 22, 1924 in Copper Hill, TN, to John and Lennie Payne. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during World Wear II in the Pacific Theater. He was retired from ORNL X-10 after 32 years service as a pipefitter. Ralph was also a 50 years member of the UA (United Association of Pipefitters.) After retirement he worked independently as a professional handyman. He lived 30 years in Maryville before moving to Lenoir City. He loved his family very much and was a devoted husband to his wife, Lottie, who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. He visited her faithfully at the nursing home as long as he could. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all he met. Many described Ralph Payne as a man who never met a stranger. He was kind, compassionate, funny, and had a huge heart. He will be sorely missed by all who crossed paths with him. He had many passions and talents, including nature, fishing, gardening, and storytelling. He excelled at everything he did. Ralph was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ellen Garrett. Survived by his loving wife, Lottie Taylor Payne, born and raised in Violet, NC; three children and their families: daughter, Joan Payne Erwin and son-in-law, Mark Erwin of Charlotte, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sandy Payne of Lenoir City, Ken and Kathy Payne of Maryville; 6 grandchildren, Angela Payne Powell of Knoxville, Jennifer Erwin and Missy Erwin of Charlotte, NC, Jason Payne of Lenoir City, Jacob Stout and Kayla Payne of Maryville; three great-granddaughters, Emily Powell, Macy Powell and Della Erwin; brothers, William Payne of Cleveland, TN, Earl Payne of Copper Hill, TN; sister, Lorraine Ledford of Belmont, NC; many nieces and nephews. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service. MYRTLE FREEMAN SHEARIN
Myrtle Freeman Shearin, age 78, of Bristol, VA went to be with the Lord, on Monday, December 6, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN. She was born in Dante, VA a daughter to the late Samuel and Martha Williams Freeman. She was a former store clerk and Loving Grocery and Giants Grocery. Ms. Shearin attended Fellowship Chapel.
Survivors include: daughters, Ann Blaylock and husband David of Maryville, TN, Janice Wallace and husband Harry of Gray, TN; sons, Larry Shearin of Jonesboro, GA, Roy Shearin and wife Georgi of Knoxville, TN, and Chris Shearin and wife Beth of Bristol, VA; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill Shearin; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Decmeber 9, 2004 at 7 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester MacKinnon officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-7 prior to the service and other times at the home of Chris Shearin at 50 Crescent Circle, Bristol, VA. CHARLES R. TEAGUE
Charles R. Teague, age 91 of Maryville died Monday, December 6, 2004 at Lighthouse Haven. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. He retired from Charles West Chevrolet with over 40 years of service. preceded in death by wife, Flora Barker Teague; grandson, Eddie Seals; brother, Lem Teague; sisters, Ruby Bowers and Sue Hamby. Survivors include son, Mike Teague of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Lawrence Hawkins, Sharon and Tip Cady all of Maryville; grandchildren, Julie Williams, Shannon Warren, Angela Gregg, Susan Gregory; great-grandchildren, Heather and Kristen Williams, Evan Warren and Tipton Gregg; brother, Carl Teague of Chattanooga. ALICE CRISP WEST
Alice Crisp West, age 85 of Friendsville, passed away December 7, 2004, at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Friendsville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil Crisp, Samuel McLaren and John West; parents, Andy and Mattie Phillips; sister, Inez Morton; brothers, Everett and Dale Phillips.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Carolyn Crisp, Wayne and Brenda Crisp all of Friendsville; granddaughters and husbands, Kelly and Yuk Hung Mac of Highlands Ranch, CO, Staci and Andy Lawhorn of Friendsville; great-grandson, Ty Lawhorn; special nieces and nephews; special friends, Luther Ferguson and Dinah Hurst.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hickory Valley cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Joe Black officiating.

DAVID ALLEN HAVEN
David Allen Haven, 50, of Maryville, died Saturday December 4, 2004, at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena Robinson Haven; and sister, Brenda Hurst. He is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Haven of Louisville, and Larry and Suzanne Haven; niece, Tara Haven, all of Knoxville. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m., Monday December 6, 2004, at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Cantrell officiating. BLANCHE CORA MCGHEE
Blanche Cora McGhee, age 87, of Alcoa, died Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Asbury Place. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William McGhee; parents, Thomas and Ellen Sipe; sister, Mae Veal; brothers, Bob and Phillip Sipe. She is survived by her son, Allan McGhee of Maryville; daughter, June Logan of Florida; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews; sister, Margaret LeQuire of Maryville. James C. Smith, age 55, of Maryville, died Saturday, December 5, 2004, at his home. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, an avid fisherman and member of R.A.G.S. Club. He was the owner and operater of Jim Smith Hardwoods. He will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him. preceded in death by parents, James Bartow and Lillian Smith, and one brother, Robert Richard Smith. Survivors include: wife, Debra Smith; daughter, Lindsay Smith; son, Ryan Smith; and stepson, Andrew Titus, all of Maryville. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Scottie Burkhalter officiating. Leitha Ann (Cheeta) Davis, age 51 of 120 Lakeview Lane, Vonore, passed away 7:43 P.M. Monday, December 27, 2004 at her home. She owned and operated Leitha's Cut & Curl for over 25 years and was employed at the Madisonville Wal-Mart as a sales floor associate. Member of Vonore Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by son, Chad Harrill, father, Curtis Summey, grandparents, Dave and Beula McCullouch and Charlie and Judy Summey.

Bonnie L. Golden, age 90 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She attended Madison Avenue Baptist Church, was retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 Year Service Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Golden; parents, James A. and Allie Turner; brothers, James E. Turner and Lawrence R. Turner.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Lola and Ernest Satterfield; nieces, Sharon Kirkland and husband Harold of Blaine, TN, Sheila Bowers and husband Dean of Orange Park, FL, Phyllis Cooper and husband Lonnie of Maryville; nephews, Dennis Satterfield and wife Brenda of Friendsville, Doug Satterfield and wife Donna of Maryville, Doyle Satterfield and wife Stacie of Maryville, J. Jessie K. Hunter, age 96, a resident of Alcoa, TN departed this life on Friday December 24th at Maryville Healthcare Center.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul AME Church in Alcoa, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Wilson, Parents John and Priscilla Brabson, Son Charles M. Wilson, Daughter Helen E. Wilson Cummings, Sister Janella Coleman; Brothers Lester, Aubuson, Raymond, Oscar and Haskel (H.C.) Brabson.
Survivors include, sister Christine Scales of Toledo, Ohio; Brother Leonard Brabson of Detroit, Michigan; Grandsons, Victor, James Jr, and Charles Cummings all of St. Paul, Minnesota. Mary Nell Everett Long, age 67 of Maryville died Monday, December 27, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church. She nursed for a period of over 46 years at Blount Memorial Hospital. During the past few years, Mary has been active in fund-raising for Blount Memorial Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence T. Everett and Polly Spangler Everett; niece, Stacy Diane Russell; brother, Joe Lee Everett. Charles Edward Revels Sr. -- 56 of Alcoa, Tennessee, departed this life Friday Dec. 24, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Katherine Revels. Anna Lou 'Sissy' Brogdon, age 62 of Harriman, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Brogdon; daughter, Jennifer Brogdon; parents, Gene and Dorcus Simpson Shaw; brother, Bobby Shaw.
