MONNIE FAY GALYON
Monnie Fay Galyon, age 69, passed away 7:40 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Morten and Mary Galyon; brothers, Johnie, Raymond, Herman and Clyde Galyon; and brother-in-law, Fred Potter.
Survivors include: brothers, Sherman Galyon, Mr. And Mrs. William Galyon, Mr. And Mrs. Chester Galyon, and Wenston Galyon; sisters, Mr. And Mrs. Lloyd Whitehead, Mrs. Sarah Potter; two sisters-in-law, Anna B. Galyon and Helen Nichols; nieces, Linda, Sandra, Connie, Tammie and Lisa; nephews, Walter, Billy Clyde, Chester, Michael, Randy and Tim; several great-nieces and nephews and many friends and loved ones.
The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday November 28, 2004, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Hearon and Rev. Rex Everett officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Old Piney Cemetery.
CHARLES THOMAS `JACK' QUEENER
Charles Thomas 'Jack' Queener, age 74, of Greenback, passed away Friday, November 26, 2004, at the family home. He was a member of Meadow United Methodist Church, retired from Greenback Industries, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella Queener; brother, Lonnie Queener; and niece, Michelle Queener; father-in-law, Ed Ryan; mother-in-law, Willie Mae 'Bill' Ryan. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ryan Queener of Greenback; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathy Queener of Maryville; daughters, Sharon (Boring) Queener and Teresa Queener, both of Greenback; grandson, John Queener of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Louvina Queener of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Ann Henderson of Greenback; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Guy and Carolyn Ryan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Gaye King officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Pine Grove cemetery in Loudon County. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
MARY ANN REPASS
Mary Ann Repass, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Retired from Pugh and Company CPA. preceded in death by parents, Fred and Susie Repass; brothers, Fred W. Repass and Bobby Joe Repass. Survived by sisters, Betty Boring, Nancy Benson and husband Bill, Carolyn Rutherford and husband Rev. James Rutherford, all of Maryville; aunt, Anna Mae Bertram; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be Sunday evening at 8 p.m. with Dr. John Sheldon officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720, or American Heart Association P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410. Family and friends will meet at 12 noon Monday for graveside services at Lynnhurst Cemetery. BORING, DR. PAUL D., 90, Dalton, Ga., died Thursday, Nov. 25, at Hamilton Medical Center. He was employed by Dalton Rock Products for many years. Survivors: daughters, June Peterson of Nashville, Pat Worde of Cleveland, Sylvia Daniels of Memphis, Ruth Reynolds of Dalton, Sally Hamby of Chattanooga; sons, J.D. Boring of Maryville, David Boring of Dalton, Vaughn Boring of Dalton, Marvin Boring of Crandall; sister, Maggie Hearon of Maryville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at South Dalton Baptist Church. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour before the funeral service. MARY ROSE `HURST' BEDNARCZYK
Mary Rose (Hurst) Bednarczyk, age 78, died Thursday, November 25, 2004, at U. T. Medical Center. She was a longtime resident of Maryville, having moved back from Illinois. She retired from Western Electric, AT&T, enjoyed sewing, her family and her bird feeder watching.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Bednarczyk.
She leaves behind her daughter, Shelby Boudreau and son-in-law, Mike Boudreau, Sr.; son, Thomas Walker of FL; grandsons, Michael Boudreau, Jr., Brian Boudreau and wife, Mindy Boudreau; granddaughter, Shannon Weeks and husband Travis Weeks; 3 great grandchildren, Michelle Boudreau, Brianna Boudreau and Cody Boudreau; special niece, Charlotte Howard and Tom Howard; special nephew, Leonard Sheilds; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Grandview cemetery with Rev. Beecher Dunsmore officiating.

IMOGENE NICHOLS MCMURRAY
Imogene Nichols McMurray, -- age 70 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at her home. She attended Gospel Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lynn McMurray; parents, Robert and Ella Nichols; brothers, Arnold, Charles and Harold Nichols; granddaughter, Regina Gentry.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil and Brenda McMurray, Gary and Deborah McMurray; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and David Gentry; Tammy and Wesley Garland, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Wayne, Melissa, Rebecca, Jason, Daniel, Brittany, Lacey, Ethan, and Autumn; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Walker.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday at Upper Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church (Red Top) with Rev. Rex Everett and Rev. Jerry Little Officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

BETTY GODSEY PERKINS
Betty Godsey Perkins, 80, Johnson City and formerly of Knoxville, went to the waiting arms of her husband, 'Perk' on Thursday (November 25, 2004).
Betty's love and commitment to her church service included more than 20 years with Lebanon Baptist Church, Lebanon, VA and in recent years at Bridgewater Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. She was an active member of W.M.V. and numerous committees in the churches she loved. She retired in 1990 as proprietor of Perk's Market in Maryville, TN.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Bedford 'Perk' Perkins and her aunt, Josephine Colman.
Surviving are her son, James Hunter Perkins and wife, Sharon, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Melissa Perkins VanDyke and husband, Reese VanDyke; three grandchildren, Amber, Hunter, and Heather VanDyke, Knoxville, TN; daughter, Mardell Larcen and husband, Ron and her granddaughter, Amy Buckner, all of San Francisco, CA.
Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

BETTY JEAN THOMPSON
Betty Jean Thompson, age 63, of Maryville, died Thursday, November 25, 2004 after a brief courageous battle with cancer, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and was employed as an LPN with Medic Regional Blood Center of Knoxville. Her true loves were working in her home and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Jackie M. Thompson, her parents, Olear and Edna Lowe, her brother and sister, Harvey and Beulah Lowe. She is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, Randy and Paula Thompson; Grandchildren, Kevin and Katie Thompson all of Maryville; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Olear 'Sonny' Jr. and Bobbie Lowe of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Charles 'Buddy' and Delores Lowe, Max L. NATHALIA WRIGHT
Nathalia Wright, age 91, died on Monday, November 22, 2004, at Blount Transitional Care Center. She had been in declining health for several years. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
She was the daughter of Elizabeth and Hilliard Wright. Her father was a Maryville merchant and operated Wright's 5 & 10 at the intersection Broadway and Cusick in Maryville. After graduating from Maryville College in 1933, she worked at the college as an instructor and librarian. She earned her master's and doctoral degrees from Yale University in 1938 and 1949 respectively.
In 1949 she joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee as a professor in the English Department, where she taught for 33 years until her retirement in 1982. In 1972 she became the university's first woman Mace Bearer, and in 1975 she was named an Alumni Distinguished Service Professor. In 2000 she became the sixth recipient of the Commission for Women's Notable UTK Woman Award.
Dr. Wright was recognized as a leading scholar in early American literature and was considered one of the country's foremost scholars on the works of Herman Melville. Her doctoral thesis, Melville's Use of the Bible, was published in 1949 and republished in 1969. She wrote or edited more than a dozen books during her career.
A private interment will be held in Grandview Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Haws officiating.

Charles Allen 'Al' Garner, age 72, of Maryville passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 23, 2004 at the family home. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Member of Bright Hope Masonic Lodge, he was a Shriner, and a member of the Kerbela Temple in Knoxville. preceded in death by: parents, Eli and Edna Steele Garner. Survivors: wife, Mary Grace Tallent Garner; daughters, Lisa Snyder of Knoxville, Connie Garner of Maryville; grandchildren, Adam Parsley, Karley Parsley; great-grandchild, Tyler Parsley; sister, Mary Lynn Hatcher of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Norma Garner of Maryville, Raymond and Carolyn Garner of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
