LUCILLE M. PRICE
Lucille M. Price, age 83 of Maryville, TN went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 8, 2004, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born in Oakmon, Alabama and a resident of Maryville, TN since 2002.
She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville, TN from 2002-2004. She was a faithful member of Wilkes Baptist Church in Midfield, Alabama from 1957-1999. She was a prayer warrior for Pineview Baptist Church in Centreville, Alabama from 1999-2002.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Preceded in death by husband Frank Price; son Jerry Price; parents, Homer and Birdie Myers; brother, Virgil Myers.
Survivors include: son, Ray Price and Shelia of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Philip Cruce of McCalla, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Price of Bessemer, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Finney of Maryville, TN; daughter-in-law, Nancy Price of Moundville, Alabama; sisters, Lee Thornberry of Covington, Kentucky, Ethel LaChapelle of West Blocton, Alabama; brothers, Bruce Myers of West Blocton, Bob Myers of Mobile, Alabama; several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; special friends, Dr. Glenn and Caprice Cummings of Maryville, TN, Bill and Wanda Odom of Maryville, TN, Carol Ellis of Maryville, TN, Francis and Billy White of Midfield, Alabama.
Family has requested that donations in-lieu of flowers be made to the new sanctuary building fund of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Maryville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be at Browns Service West in Hueytown, Alabama, November 11, 2004 with Dr. Glenn Cummings officiating. Music will be provided by grandson, Denny Cruce. Family will receive friends 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., with funeral at 7:00 p.m.
POLLY ROBINETTE WARD
Polly Robinette Ward, age 93 of Maryville died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Brantley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. preceded in death by: husband, Eldridge Okley Ward; son, Dennis Okley Ward; parents, Marion and Nervasta Robinette; ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Annette Ward of Maryville; grandsons, Gary and wife Tina Ward and Jeffrey and wife Diane Ward all of Louisville, Brian and wife Pamela Ward of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Samuel Todd, David Okley, John Eldridge and Ethan Dennis Ward; special friend, Peggy Coffey; several nieces and nephews. William Elmer (Gib) Gibson, age 87 of Maryville died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a member and Deacon at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and served as Choir Director at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and Laurel Bank Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and served as Shop Foreman for the Blount County Highway Department for many years. preceded in death by: son, Dr. Marvin Gibson; parents, T.E. and Effie (Raper) Gibson. Survivors include: wife, Raychel Coulter Gibson; son, Don and wife Sue Gibson of Maryville; daughter, Betty Ann Drinnen and husband Wayne Jr. of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Jane Gibson Church and husband Gary of Greensboro, NC; sister, Beulah Mae Harris of Maryville; grandchildren, Lisa Gibson Pemberton and husband Jon, Dr. Lynn Gibson and wife Angelia, Laura Gibson Williams and husband Adam, Leslie Gibson Phillips and husband Luke, Leann Drinnen, Jason Drinnen; great-grandchildren, Andrew Goodman, Will and Owen Gibson, and Hailey Grace Williams. GEORGE HENRY JR.
Funeral services for George F. Henry, Jr., 90 of Maryville, TN will be held Wednesday, November 10 at 1 p.m. (C.S.T.) from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Glen McDoniel and Bro. Norman Parrish officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Henry died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Maryville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Maryville.
He was born November 22, 1913 in Sturgis, Mississippi to the late George F. Henry Sr. and Ora Evans Henry.
Mr. Henry was a graduate of Sturgis High School. After high school he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps for a term, then he joined the U.S. Marine Corps for a three year term. He worked in New York City for about three years at various jobs during the Depression. He then entered Tennessee Technological University in the late 1930's where he played basketball. As World War II advanced, he re-enlisted in the Marine Corps. His service was in the Pacific Theatre on the island of Okinawa. He was on the island when Gen. Douglas McArthur visited very near the end of the World War II. After the war was over he returned to Tech for a degree in 1947. Then he received his Law Degree from the Law School of Cumberland University. He practiced law in Tennessee and Mississippi and spent some time in his own business. Some of his advocations and hobbies in his earlier years included politics and history, participation in the Masonic Lodge, fishing and gardening, especially saving his mother's seeds and methods. George was also a member of the Church of Christ in Cookeville. From his earliest years, a favorite pastime was sports including football, basketball and baseball. In his high school and college years, including his terms in the service, he played basketball and football for various teams. He especially enjoyed attending the Sugar Bowl and other college games. After a car accident, which resulted in a spinal cord injury, he became an avid spectator via television. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the employees and staff at Maryville Healthcare, especially the South Wing for the wonderful care that he received.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Paris Henry of 59 years; three brothers, Horace Henry, Max Henry, and Evans Henry; and one half brother, Joseph Lawler.
He is survived by one sister, Ruth Henry Weston (Mrs. John H. Weston, Sr.) of Maryville, TN; six nieces and seven nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, 11 a.m. (C.S.T.) until time of services. Mr. Henry's nephews will serve as pallbearers.

VIRGIE LEE HICKS
Virgie Lee Hicks, "90" of Maryville died Saturday November 6, 2004 at home. She was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy James Hicks Sr.; and son, Roy James Hicks, Jr. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, David and Leslie Hicks of 107 Marvin Drive, Spring Lake, NC, daughter-in-law, Juanita Smith of Brunswick Ga; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hickman officiating. Everyone will meet Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill cemetery for a graveside service. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
MILDRED K. `MILLIE' MARLIN
Mildred K. 'Millie' Marlin, 77, of 539 Old Piney Road, Maryville, TN, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was born on January 24, 1927 in Williamson County, TN to Joseph and Nora Kizzie Sullivan Mangrum. She married
Glen H. Marlin on October 4, 1946 in Rossville, GA. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1990 in Peoria. She was also preceded by her parents, and one infant son.
She is survived by two sons, Terry and (Betty) G. Marlin of Brimfield, and Larry J. Marlin of Maryville, TN; 3 daughters, Anne and (Gary) Mullins of Maryville, TN, Pamela H. Janz of Bartonville, IL, and Tina and (Jerry) Sellers of Morton, IL; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very close friend, Gordon Brooks, Sr.
She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, Illinois. Rev. Bobby Barnhill officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery in Peoria.
ARRETUS C. MCBEE
Arretus C. McBee, age 81 of Lawrenceville, GA, formerly of Maryville, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004, in Lawrenceville. She had been a member of Brantley's Chapel Church since 1956 and was preceded in death by her brother, Plumer McBee, Jr.
Survivors include: son, Bill J. McBee of Lawrenceville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Cyrus and Burniece McBee of Maryville; grandchildren, Stacy Joe McBee, Ashley McBee and Chad Rader; great grandson, Sloan McBee; sister-in-law, Ada McBee of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brantley's Chapel Church with Rev. Jerry McBee officiating. The interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Clyde Edward 'Eddie' McDaniel, age 55 of Maryville passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004. He was a member and deacon of Allegheny Missionary Baptist Church. Eddie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed by Mastercraft Boat Company. preceded in death by: father, W. L. McDaniel; sister, Lessa Tressia McDaniel; and grandparents, Mary and Jim Cook. Nola D. Speer, age 82 of Ravenswood, WV, formerly of Maryville, TN, died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ravenswood, WV and a former member of the choir and the Circle 3 as well. preceded in death by: husband, James C. Speer, Sr.; parents, Tip and Frankie (Hitch) Davis. Survivors include: son, James C. James Harold Carpenter, 54, of Tallassee died Saturday November 6, 2004, one day before his 55th birthday. He was of the Baptist faith and was active in the New Live Ministries Christian Center. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Millie and Ed Carpenter, uncle: Otis Carpenter who raised him. He is survived by his wife: Cora Kay Carpenter and daughter Rebekah Carpenter both of Tallassee. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 A.M. MILDRED HAYWORTH HALE
Mildred Hayworth Hale, age 87 of Jefferson City passed away 6 p.m. Saturday, November. 6, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was of the Baptist faith. preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hale; daughter, Alene Hale and grandson, Eddie Spoon. Survived by daughter, Iva Spoon Wilde and husband, Jake Wilde of Walland; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Helen Hale of Jefferson City and Robert and Becky Hale, also of Jefferson City; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Ray and Jamie Graham, sister and brother-in-law: Faye and Kenny Watson all of Walland, several nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins, cery special friend: Nell Childers.
