Emma Ruth Smith Amburn, age 71, of Maryville, passed away, Tuesday November 9, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Springview Baptist Church. preceded in death by: husband, Haskel H. 'Hack' Amburn; parents; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Don Young of Kingsport; daughter, Donna Amburn of San Francisco, California; sons and daughters-in-law, Herb and Thea Amburn of South Carolina, George and Marsha Amburn of Maryville; grandchildren, Angela Corbett, Mark Amburn, Sarah Amburn, Emily Young, Jordan Young; great-grandchildren, Brandon Amburn and Colby Amburn; sister, Margaret Chapman of Maryville; brother, William 'Butch' Smith of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. CHARLOTTE `CHAR' ORR FROST
Charlotte (Char) Orr Frost, age 54, of Lusby, MD, formerly of Maryville and Seymour, TN, died suddenly Sunday, November 7, 2004, while traveling home twelve days after heart surgery in Cleveland, OH. She was a cherished wife, sister and sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Char dearly loved her family and her many wonderful friends. She especially enjoyed her gardens and sailing with her husband. She was active in the Southern Maryland Sailing Association, serving as membership governor for two years, 'assistant' race governor for two years, and was currently treasurer of the Southern Calvert Land Trust.
Char is survived by her loving husband, Joe, also formerly of Seymour, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Bob Hopfe of CA, Ramona and Tommy Yarbrough of TN, Sharon and Edward Skeenes of TN, Dodie and Carl Maples of KY; her special sister, Robin of The Baddour Center in MS; her brother-in-law and his wife, Jack and Pat Frost; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the SMSA clubhouse on Dowell Road in Dowell, MD. The memorial service will be private.

JAMES HOMER JOHNSON
James Homer Johnson, age 88, of Maryville, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from ALCOA, and was a member of the 25-year club. He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Maryville.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edd and Peggy Johnson; sisters, Myrtle Simmons, Ethel Lawson, Rachel McKee, and Lucille Hamby.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Zelvia Johnson; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Irene Johnson, Jackie and Bonnie Johnson, Eddie and Doris Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Chuck Johnson, Steve Johnson, Donna Williams, Darlene Pique, Chris Johnson, Randy Johnson, and Greg Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Bellafoire of Liberty, MO.
Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004 at First Apostolic Church, 1723 William Blount Drive, Maryville, with the Rev. Kenneth Carpenter and the Rev. H. Wayne Simmons officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Sammie J. Pomfret, age 51 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold 'Bill' Pomfret.

HILDA KAREN LAWSON RUSSELL
Hilda Karen Lawson Russell, age 52 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday November 9, 2004 at UT Medical Center. She attended Restoration International Outreach Church. preceded in death by: infant son, Brian Riddle; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Riddle; parents, Earl J. and Hazel McGill Lawson. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, James Quinton and Jennifer Riddle of Walland, Gregory Todd and Kim Lawson of Maryville, Russell Paul Ewing and girlfriend Tammie Harper of Maryville; grandchildren, Kalee Lawson and James Ryan Riddle; brother and sister-in-law, Landon and Barbara Lawson of Walland; sister, Flo Whiteside of Louisville; special friend, Willard Raby of Maryville; several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The body was cremated and a memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Restoration International Outreach Church 370 South Long Hollow Road, Maryville. Rev. ROBERT JOHN STEVENS
Robert John Stevens, age 69 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2004, in Sweetwater at the home of his daughter, with whom he lived. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army and retired from Metzeler Automotive, formerly Schlegel's.
Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his father and mother, Myra E. Stevens and his half brothers.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheri D. Stevens Cogar and husband Butch of Sweetwater; grandson, Jason E. Long of Sweetwater; sisters, Elaine Cuthbertson of Franklin Park, NJ and Barbara Ward of Maryville.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service with Blanche Settles officiating.

MAYFORD V. CLARK
Mayford V. Clark, born November 13, 1916 to Rachel and Sidney Clark, passed away Monday, November 8, 2004. A 56-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and an avid horseman, Mr. Clark is survived by: wife, Nevada Clark; daughter, Jane Trotter and husband Gary; son, Stanley Clark and wife Pat; son, Paul Clark and wife Anita; daughter, Virginia Cupp and husband Bob; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Hodges. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Grandview cemetery with Rev. Mark Knisley officiating. LUCILLE LEATHERWOOD FLYNN
Lucille Leatherwood Flynn, age 96 of Maryville, died at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at her home. She was born October 7, 1908, in Sevier County. She had been a member of Peck's Memorial United Methodist Church in Maryville for 53 years. She retired from the former Chilhowee Nursing Home, where she was a nurses' assistant. She was an avid gardener and flower lover.
Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by her husband, Grady L. Flynn; son, Glenn R. Flynn; great-granddaughter, Orionna Robinson; parents, James Marshall and Evaline Leatherwood; sisters, Estelle Flynn and Winnie Emert; brothers, Berlin Leatherwood, Minor Leatherwood and Philip Leatherwood.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cedith and Melvin Giles; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Gail Flynn, Dwayne and Margaret Flynn; daughter-in-law, Billie (Mrs. Glenn) Flynn; three grandchildren, Samuel Flynn, Mitchell Flynn, Jr. and Virginia Robinson; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; sister, Angeline Taffer; brother, Serene Leatherwood.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Thierbach and Rev. Dennis Milligan officiating. The entombment will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Grandview Mausoleum.

Betty M. Saunders, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Friday, November 12, 2004, at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center.
