Survivors: wife, Hazel Hammontree Brown; daughter, Jeanie Brown, Louisville; daughter, Kay Fitzgerald, Maryville; three grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Hillard, Oak Ridge, Glenna Stepp and Harriet Brown, both of Alcoa; brother, Fred Brown, Alcoa.

BREAZEALE, LOU, 91, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Fort Sanders Medical Center. She was retired from the Knoxville City School system. - 08/06/00
Survivors: brother, J.I. Breazeale Jr. of Maryville; sister, Mary Faye Sanders of Loudon.

William Henry Beard, 68, of Maryville, died Thursday, August 3, 2000 at his home. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints. He was a Veteran of the Korean War.

MARSHALL, JOHN ROBERT, 72, of Rossville, Ga., died Wednesday, Aug. 2 at his residence. He was retired from E.K. Williams Co. - 08/04/00
Survivors include wife, Jane Brooks Marshall; son, Robert Marshall of Lyerly, Ga.; daughters, Phyllis Copeland of Ringgold, Ga., Cynthia Brooks of Collinsville, Ala.; brother, Phillip L. Marshall of Louisville; sisters, Betty Lewis of Austin, Texas, Anna Ruth McSpadden of Maryville, Bobbie Bell of Forestburg, Texas; four grandchildren.

Carlyle 'Dick' Robbins died Thursday morning, August 3, 2000, at 8:55 a.m. at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was retired from ALCOA in Alcoa, TN. After retiring from the Aluminum Company of America, Mr. Robbins was active in the Blount County Rescue Squad and received several awards for outstanding service. He served as secretary-treasurer of the Blount County Rifle and Pistol Club until the club disbanded. He was a 50 Year member of the George Washington Lodge # 181. Mr. Robbins was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church, where he was active as a Trustee and member of the Administrative Council.

WILLIS, CYNTHIA ANN, 50, of Maryville, died Monday, July 31. - 08/03/00
Survivors: husband, Max W. Willis of Maryville; children, Kathy and Tony Jweid of Naples, Fla., Charlie Faulkner of Miami, Wayne and Brandy Willis of Maryville; one grandchild; mother, Terese A. Stanaland of Maryville.

BRANNON, HELEN LOUISE, 65, of Maryville, formerly of Alabama, died Sunday, July 30, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. - 08/01/00
Survivors: daughter, Elizabeth Carter, Maryville; son, Robin Earl Smith, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; five grandchildren; mother, Doshie Thomas, Akron, Ohio; six brothers and sisters.

Floyd H. Cutshaw, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2000. Member of Meridian Baptist Church. Retired insurance/real estate agent with Crum-Blazer Insurance Agency.

BRADLEY, ROSEMARY, 57, of Friendsville died Thursday, July 27, at the family home. - 07/28/00
Survivors: husband, Henry Bradley; daughters, Kimberly Threlfall, Cheryl Scott, Lori Kiss; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Frank Hughes, Bob Hughes, Gary Hughes; sisters, Nancy Hughes and Judy Matyscik.

Dora Dailey 'Topsy' Gilbert, age 58 of Stockbridge, GA, formerly of Maryville, passed away Monday, July 24, 2000 at the family home. preceded in death by father, Dee Dailey; sister, Fay Davis; brother, Claude Dailey.

BALES, GLADYS M. (FRITTS), 89, Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Alcoa, died Saturday, July 22, in Waynesville, Ohio. - 07/24/00
She is survived by two sons, Herbert Bales, Fairfield, Ohio and Merritt Island, Fla., and Paul Bales, Maryville; daughter, Carolyn Bales, Lebanon, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Fritts, Pontiac, Mich.; sister, Sarah Frances Baker, Knoxville.

Rosa Leola Patty Hembree, age 94 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday evening, July 19, 2000 at the family home. preceded in death by husband, Luther Hembree; daughters, Ina Grace Hembree, Virgie Jenkins; sons, Eldred Hembree, Glenn Hembree, Howard Hembree, Ralph Hembree; grandsons, Fred Wayne Hembree, Donald Jenkins; great-granddaughter, Rhonda Jenkins; great-great-granddaughter, Leah Daisy Lawson; 20 brothers and sisters.

Lillian Virginia Buchanan, age 84 of Maryville, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Jean Jordan and grandsons, Michael Cole and Tim Jordan.

Rev. Steve Allen Chambers, age 39, of 933 Monroe Circle, Madisonville, passed away suddenly 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2000. Member of Trinity Baptist Church. Served his Lord as an evangelist in Monroe and surrounding counties.

Glenn C. Clabough, age 48, of Maryville, formerly of Maynardville, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at Maryville Healthcare Center, Maryville. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Clabough and brother, Rex A. Clabough.

Ralph Balfour, age 77 of Fenimore, NY, father and father-in-law of Donna and Les Hickok of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2000, at Saratoga Hospital.
Survivors: wife, Betty Balfour of Fenimore; daughters, Donna Hickok of Knoxville, Sandra Clark of Queensbury; son, Ralph D. Balfour of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters, Helen Abare of Queensbury, Mary Snyder of Gansevoort; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Lela Muriel Carpenter Cupp, age 94 of Americus, Ga. died Nov. 4, 2000 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. She was born July 17, 1906 in Maryville, Tenn. She lived in Columbus for the last 10 years and was formerly from Macon, Ga. She was a member of Macon Riverside United Methodist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the United Methodist Women Association. She was a self-employed seamstress.
Survivors: brother, Ed Carpenter of Maryville; sister, Ada Carpenter Petterson of Greenback; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.

Rev. Harrison D. Hill, age 76 of Alcoa went home to be with his Lord Friday, November 10, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He served as pastor at New Hope Baptist Church for 30 years.

COWDEN, JIMMIE L. (GRANNY), 65, Sweetwater, died Friday, Nov. 10 at Sweetwater Hospital. - 11/13/00
Survivors include: daughter, Brenda Wyant, Martinsburg, W.Va; sons, Richard Gladden, Sweetwater, Kenneth Gladden, Loudon, Thomas Cowden, Sweetwater; stepchildren, Gary Cowden, Brenda Lawhon, Teresa Hart, all of Maryville; 14 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren.

Dover, Carolyn, age 50 of Maryville, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital Friday evening November 10, 2, 000. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Leona Breeden Gardner.

Imogene B. Jones age 86 of Maryville passed away Thursday afternoon November 9, 2000 at the family home. Member of Unity Baptist Church. preceded in death by Grandson: Chris Whitehead, Husband: Sam Jones, Son: Jim Jones, Sister: Claudine Ganues.

Betty Jo McMillan Chapman, age 72 of Maryville, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at her home.

Ivan Vincent Chambers, Lt. Col. Tennessee Army National Guard Retired, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was 80. A veteran of World War II, he served in France with the 280th Battalion XIII Corps as Reconnaissance Officer and Forward Observer. During the Korean Conflict, he was an officer with the Korean Military Advisory Group U.S.A. (KMAG) attached to the 2nd Korean Division (White Horse) R.O.K. He had also served on the staff of the U.S. Army Artillery Center, Ft. Sill, OK. He was retired from ALCOA, a member of Broadway Baptist Church and Alcoa Kiwanis Club. He was a graduate of Maryville College. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Britton Chambers; daughter, Sharon Kay Chambers; and parents, James Phillip and Zora Chambers.
Survivors: sons, Tom Chambers of Maryville, Jeff Chambers of Jackson; daughters, Cindy Davis of Louisville, Nancy Chance of Maryville; six grandchildren; sisters, Marion Harrison of Maryville, Elsa Dykes of Alcoa, Vega Burns of Portland, Ore.

Samuel K. Boruff, age 49 of Maryville died Saturday, November 4, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Lundy Boruff; father, Eskie Boruff; sisters, Imogene Shinpaugh, Evelyn Carter, Dorothy Knox; brothers, Douglas and Timothy Boruff all of Blount County.

Marjorie Evelyn Goforth Sutton Brown, age 69 of Maryville, died Sunday morning November 5, 2000 to go home with the Lord, end all suffering, and have a new body. She was a member of Village Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Webb Sutton and Dewey Iven Brown; parents, Harvey and Minnie Dunlap Goforth; grandson, Richard Todd Sutton; nephew, Rocky James Lee.
