Survivors: husband, Paul Schumacher; mother, Ruby Stinnett; son, Mark Schumacher of Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughter, Jeannie Pralle of Ormond Beach; sister, Lou Morrissette of Ormond Beach; two grandchildren.

Edith Giffin Best
Edith Giffin Best, age 94, of Maryville, passed away Friday, October 15, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Carpenters United Methodist Church. preceded in death by husband, Edgar W. Best; son, Ronald Best; daughter, Ethleen Baumgardner.
Survivors include: daughter, Jean Everett of Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bob Carpenter, Frances and C.A. Graves; son, James Best; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Alice Best, Paul and Mary Ann Best; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Best; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Ken Tucker officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Monday at Carpenters cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends 5:30-7 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Carpenters United Methodist Church.

Phyllis Jean Hatley Buchanan
Phyllis Jean Hatley Buchanan, age 68, of Happy Valley died Saturday October 16, 2004, at U.T. Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Buchanan; parents, Homer Leech and Ruth Evelyn Farr Hatley; and sister, Barbara Ruth Hatley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Yolanda Buchanan of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Ronnie Taylor of Petross; grandchildren, Bethany Buchanan and Linsay Buchanan, and step-granddaughter, Emily Taylor; brother, Charles L. Hatley of Louisville; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Tom Tyler of Seville, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and brothers-and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Happy Valley cemetery for the graveside service with Rev. Scott Linkinfelter and Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Kidney Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Freddi Del Rio
Freddi Del Rio, age 20, of Greenback, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2004, at University of Tennessee Hospital. He was a very special child with a joy and love of life and energy that touched everyone that met him. In spite of his mental and physical limitations, he had a strong spirit and gift of laughter that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Don't grieve for his passing, but celebrate the gift of life he will give through organ donation that others may live on through him. He was preceded in death by twin brother, Michael. He is survived by mother, Laura Del Rio; brother, Tavish Del Rio, both of Greenback; maternal grandmother, Mildred Canepa of Knoxville; maternal aunt and uncle, Cherie and John Anderson, of Panama City, Florida; maternal uncle and aunt, Joel and Marlene Canepa of Virginia; paternal great-uncle and aunt, Norman and Margaret Zeliff of Melbourne, Florida; first, second and third cousins, Barbie, Jeff, Bobby, John, Wayne, John H., Joel Jr., Christopher, Zach, Josh, Sean and Brittany; god-parents, Vicky and John Thompson, Paula Mayerdomo; and special caregivers, Melissa Cooper, Monica Woods, Laura Woods and Anita Cupp.
Funeral service Tuesday, 5:00 p.m., Berry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Marion Gordon Fisher
Marion Gordon Fisher, age 88, of the Axley's Chapel Community, Greenback, passed away Sunday morning, October 17, 2004, at his home. He was a member of the Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Clark Fisher; his parents, William S. and Jennie Griffitts Fisher; step-mother, Lou Monger Fisher; infant sister, Margaret Fisher; brother, Howard Fisher. He is survived by his daughter, Marian Fisher of Greenback; son, Hugh Fisher and wife Brenda of Lenoir City; three grandchildren, Melissa Chambers, Steve and Robert Fisher; four great-grandchildren, Candace, Clark and Cory Chambers, Kirkland Hugh Fisher; two step-great-grandchildren, Dakota and Shelby; sister-in-law, Maureen Fisher of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 p.m. Monday with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Carnes. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Axley Chapel cemetery for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church, 840 Beeler Loop Road, Greenback, TN. 37742. George Robert 'Bob' Hardin
George Robert "Bob" Hardin, age 81, of Maryville, formerly of Ventura, California, died Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He had received various medals and honors as a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was retired and former owner of T&H; Compressor, located in Ventura California. He was preceded in death in June of this year by his partner of many years, John Thompson, and also by his mother, Rose Lilly; sister, Lee Rudolph; nephew, Charles Coburn; and stepson, Mike White. He is survived by his wife, Donna White Hardin; stepdaughter, Charae Coker and husband Jack, of Louisville; grandson, Chad Coker of Louisville; stepdaughter-in-law, Susan White; step-grandchildren, Mike White II and wife, Laura, Nick White and wife, Lora, all of Maryville, Rachel White of Nashville; step-great-grandchildren, Chase and Will White and Campbell White, all of Maryville; nieces, B.J. and Mary Coburn, Rose and husband, Tim Johnson; nephew, Donald and wife, Patrice Coburn, all of California. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in the Grandview Mausoleum; The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 983-1000

Vina June Whitehead "Julie" Roberts, age 73, of Maryville passed away Saturday Morning October 16, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by: parents, John T. Sr. and Lillie Cooper Whitehead; brothers, J.T., Floyd and Bobby Whitehead; sister, Dorothy Wilson. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Winston and Martha Roberts of Maryville; daughter, Beverly Roberts of Maryville; grandchildren, Michele Walker, Rob Overholt, Scott Overholt, Rodney Overholt; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Whitehead of Maryville, Lovelle Whitehead of Michigan; sisters, Maelee Bradam of Maryville, Ruth Holder of Maryville, Marie Delk of Maryville, Edna Welch of Tulsa, Oklahoma; special sister-in-law, Lois Whitehead of Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday October 18, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Rob Hoffman officiating. Family and friends will meet at Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for the interment service. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday October 18, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Donnie Ray Morgan
Donnie Ray Morgan, age 41 of Strawberry Plains, died Saturday, October 16, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Gene Morgan; infant daughter, Beverly Sue Morgan; grandparents, George and Ida Breeden, Martin and Trula Morgan.
Survivors: wife, Barbara Sue Brown Morgan; daughters, Lisa and Stephanie Morgan; son, Steven Brown and fiancée Kim Wade; mother and step-father, Viola and Ronald Dunlap; step-grandfather, James Dunlap; brothers and sister-in-law, Ricky and Phyllis Morgan, Randy Morgan and companion Jennifer Bell; step-brother, Ronald James Dunlap, II; step-sister, Kristi Lovelace and husband Shane; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Kasior officiating. Interment will follow in Ellejoy Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Atchley Funeral Home to benefit the family.

Janice Ruth Ridings Andrews
Mrs. Janice Ruth Ridings Andrews, 53, of Pamplico, SC, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday evening, October 19, 2004.
Mrs. Andrews, daughter of Charles and Geneva Martin Ridings was born on January 30, 1951. While growing up she played the piano and sang in her church with her father who nicknamed her "shorty." She graduated 10th in her class from Walland High School in 1969. Throughout her high school career she played basketball making All District, All Regional, All County and All State. After high school, she was employed by Alcoa Aluminum Company until she moved to South Carolina.
She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and attended Beulah Baptist Church. She retired from retail sales, enjoyed riding with her husband on their Harley Motorcycle and loved their dogs.
Surviving are her husband, Dan Allen Andrews of the home; her parents of Walland, TN; 3 step-children, Amy Andrews and Emily Andrews both of Lamar and Carey Andrews of Pamplico; 2 brothers, Charles Ridings of Chattanooga, TN and Richard Ridings of Austin, Texas; a sister, Sherrie Finger of Atlanta, GA and Greenville, NC; 2 step-grandchildren, Zachary Andrews of Lamar and Amsley Andrews of Pamplico.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Jamie Allen Andrews in 2000.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 205, Columbia, SC 29104.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2004 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Michael H. Brumley
Michael H. Brumley, age 55 of Maryville, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Farragut Church of Christ and a longtime minister of Maryville Church of Christ. He was a former board member of the Blount County Community Action Agency, former member of the Maryville Kiwanis Club, former advisory board member of the Food Connection and volunteer of the United Way. preceded in death by: parents, C. Bruix and Katie Brumley. Survivors include: wife of 28 years, Debbie Brumley; son, Chris Brumley of Maryville; brother, Charles Brumley of MS; and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2004 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Minister Richard Corum officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment. Memorial donations may be made to: Stepping Stones Preschool, 611 Sherwood Drive, Maryville, TN 37801. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2004, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

Mary Evelyn Bunch
Mary Evelyn Bunch, age 77 of Maryville died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the family home. Her family was her life, she was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. preceded in death by: parents, Homer and Maggie Dyer; brothers, J.H. Dyer and Leon Dyer; baby brother, Harold. Survivors include: husband, James E. Bunch; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Becky Bunch of Friendsville, Paul and Carolyn Bunch, James H. and Cindy Bunch, and Allen R. and Fran Bunch all of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn and Cooper Williams of Louisville, Edith and Tony Taylor of Vonore, Phyllis and Danny Brantley of Tulsa, OK, Iva Ruth and Joe Shown of Maryville; daughters, Brenda Crisp of Rockford and Alma Jean Bunch of Louisville; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Bobbie Dyer of Knoxville, Troy and Barbara Dyer of Maryville; brother, Glenn Dyer; sisters, Mary Ruth Wright; many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2004 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2004, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

Mabel M. Conner
Mabel M. Conner, born December 12, 1902, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was a member of Rockford Baptist Church and a member of the Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Conner; sisters, Dessie Malone, Lelan Malone, Mrs. Roy (Charlcie) Reed, Mrs. Clyde (Sydney) Lawson, Mrs. H. A. (Mildred) Sams; brothers, Robert Malone, Ralph Malone and Ray (Bob) Malone; and 2 nephews.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth A. Malone of Maryville; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Clark's Grove cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Russ Maples officiating.
