In loving memory of Morris Tenney, age 73 of Maryville, passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a long illness. preceded in death by parents, Gay and Dele Tenney; sister, Merle Tenney; brothers, Jerle Tenney and Robert Tenney.
Survived by his wife, Frances Tenney; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Teresa Tenney of Maryville, Greg and Jean Tenney of Ohio; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Revelet of Akron, Ohio, Pamela Buchanon of Seymour; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Diana Debarr of Canton, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home, family room. Interment service will be at a later date at Ten Mile Baptist Church cemetery in West Virginia. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

GLADYS MARIE HALL BOYD
Gladys Marie Hall Boyd, age 88, of Maryville, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Wellington Place of Maryville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wade L. Boyd; infant daughter, Joyce LaRue; parents, Joe T. and Fannie Hall; brothers, Clinton and Ben Hall; sisters, Sarah Havens and Nadine Robbins; and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her children; Rex and Alice "Cookie" Boyd, Pauline and Vernon Thomason, Alvin and Mary "Chris" Boyd, Linda and Larry Crum and Lawrence and Barbara Boyd; brothers, Andy and Fred Hall; sisters, Mary Ann Green and Rosie Mae Moore; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Wellington Place of Maryville, Blount Memorial Hospice and special friends, Sherry, Ernestine, Shirley, June and Janet. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakview Baptist Church cemetery for the interment service. OMA RUSSELL COOPER
Oma Russell Cooper, age 84, of Maryville, passed away Friday afternoon, September 10, 2004, at the family home. She was a member of Gospel Temple and preceded in death by husband, Dave Cooper; parents, William and Margaret Farmer Russell; several brothers and sister; grandson, Eddie O'Dell; and special nephew, John "Dude" Cooper. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Janie Cooper and Allen and Shirley Cooper, all of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Zelda and Ronald Horace Everett and Norma and James O'Dell, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Teresa Stephens, Michelle Vaulton, Heather Ledbetter, Aimee Teffeteller, Wayne Cooper, Rhonda Mathes, Ronnie Everett, Bobby Everett, Mike Everett, Christy Davis, Lowell Russell and Cory Russell; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ina Russell of Maryville; special niece, Annabell Atkins; and several other nieces and nephews. DENTON EVERETT HAYES
Denton Everett Hayes, age 85, a longtime resident of Maryville, passed away Friday evening, September 10, 2004, at Maryville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Meigs County, Decatur, Tennessee, to the late Matthew Ranze and Florence Greene Hayes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the American and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters. He was also retired from Greenback Industries, Inc. preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Irene Blevins Hayes; brothers-in-law, John Blevins and Frank Cooper; sister-in-law, Meadie Hayes; brothers, Matthew Ranze Hayes Jr., John Neil Hayes, George Dewey Hayes, Kenneth Nelson Hayes and Vernon Wesley Hayes. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Helen Irene Hayes Smelcer and Edith Darlene and Jeffrey Neil "Jeff" Welch, all of Maryville; grandson, Randall "Randy" Lee Smelcer Jr. of Maryville; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Christine Cooper of Chattanooga and Mary Elizabeth and Alfred Weeks of Orange Park, Florida; brother, Paul William Hayes of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Rosie Blevins of Maryville; very special family friends, Virginia and Bill Key, Betsy and Raymond "Alan" Snider and Dr. Oliver Agee, all of Maryville. Wanda F. Holder, age 72, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith and preceded in death by husband, James Robert Holder; parents, Leroy and Callie Jackson; son-in-law, Larry D. Choat and brother, Bud Jackson. Survivors include son, Robert Holder; son/grandson, Shawn Holder and companion, Nathina Felts; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Dale Franks; grandchildren, Leslie Dee Choat and companion, Joel Waters, Dorian Holder and Colin Holder; great-granddaughter, Megan Waters; brothers and sisters-in-law, A.J. and Wanda Jackson and Merle and Doris Jackson; brother, Robert Jackson; sister-in-law, Lois Jackson. VERDA HUGHES WOODRUFF
Verda Hughes Woodruff, age 81, of Maryville, died Saturday September 11, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Smokey View Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ellen Tallent of Maryville; grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Donna Tallent, Kelly and Doug Deck; and great-grandchildren Wesley and Caylor Tallent and Shelby Deck.
The family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service with Rev. Mark Martin officiating.

CLIFTON LEE BIBLE
Clifton Lee Bible, age 77, of Greenback, passed away Thursday evening, September 9, 2004, at the family home. Member of Springview Baptist Church, member of New Providence Masonic Lodge #128, member of the Blount County Shrine Club, and a member of the Kerbela Shrine Express. Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Retired from Kirk's Blacksmith and Welding Shop. preceded in death by: parents, Minnis Lee and Myrtle Godfrey Bible; stepmother, Emma Wilson Bible; brother, Eugene L. Bible. Survivors: wife of 56 years, Betty Kirkland Bible; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Lynn and Danny Fugate of Greenback, Sheri Lee and Steve Allen of Greenback; grandchildren, Christy Fugate, Michelle Jeffries, Kimberly and husband Kevin Wynn, Michael and wife Dana Jeffries; great-grandchildren, Illana, Jayden and Tyler Jeffries; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Murie of California, Juanita and Bob Domingos of California, Gladys and Bobby Jones of Rockford, Jean Lilly of Rockford, Gaynell Anderson and special friend T.J. She was a member of Friendsville First Baptist Church and preceded in death by mother Thelma Hall Teffeteller and sister Libby Teffeteller. Survivors include husband, H.F. Holder; children and spouses, Chuck Nuchols of Maryville, Kathi and Greg Kirkland of Georgia, Scott and Ginger Nuchols of Maryville and Kristi and Rick Walker of Maryville; stepchildren and spouses, Bobby and B.J. Ruby M. Millsaps, age 81, of Alcoa, died Friday, September 10, 2004, at home surrounded by her children. She was of the Baptist Faith. preceded in death by: husband, Silas N. Millsaps; infant daughter, Alice Arlene; mother, Stella Bivens; father, R. Queen; sister, Frankie Elizabeth Shell. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Bettie Ann and Richard Biancardi of Springfield, Va., and Nancy and Craig Fischer of Knoxville; daughter, Martha Jean Millsaps of Washington, D.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Millsaps of Sewanee; sister, Willie Pate of Oak Ridge. EDGAR HORACE BRYANT
Edgar Horace Bryant, age 70 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2004, at his home. He was a Mechanical Engineer with the DOE Facilities for 30 years. He was an avid U.T. sports fan and loved boating, farming, gardening and reading.
Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne D. and Marie Jordan Bryant; sister, Rose Marie Bryant; brother, John Wayne Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Taylor Bryant of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, Grant and Teresa Bryant of Friendsville, David and Resa Bryant of Loudon and Stephen and Audrey Bryant of Friendsville; stepson, Bryan Allen West of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Nichole, Nicholas, Brayden and Andrew; sister, Carol Bryant Gill of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marsha Bryant of Louisville; aunts, Velma Shearer and Mary Hicks; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Middlesettlements United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Ogle officiating. The interment will follow in Middlesettlements Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church.

Earl Richard Stephens, 62, Newport, died Friday, September 3 at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of Marbledale Church of God. preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Sophie Stephens; brother, J.C.; brothers-in-law, Pete Lance and Kenny Whitehead. Survived by wife, Mary Stephens; daughter, Sonjia; sister, Maxine Lance; sisters-in-law, Margaret Stevens and Brenda Whitehead; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nellie and Ray Garland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Barbara Whitehead, Bill and Liz Whitehead; special cousin, Doris Ledbetter; several nieces and nephews. The body was cremated. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Marbledale Church of God on Thorngrove Pike in Strawberry Plains with Rev. W. A. Pendergrass and Rev. Lee Hicks officiating.

JACK CHEATLE ARWOOD
Jack Cheatle Arwood, age 75, of 150 Arwood Lane, Madisonville, passed away 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Member of Friendship Baptist Church. Owner and operator of Arwood's Cabinet for the past 38 years and owner of Arwood's Counter Tops. Veteran of Korean War.
Survivors: wife, Mildred Walker Arwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Doyle Moody, Marie and Bobby Kidd, Jackie and Mike Johnson, Melissa and Danny Borden, Tonia Arwood, all of Madisonville; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lilace Jeralds, Kathleen McConkey - both of Englewood, Johnnie Ruth Bibee, Barbara Foxx, both of Madisonville; brothers, Fred, R.C., George (Bud), Cheatle, Jr. Arwood, all of Madisonville, Don Arwood, Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Cheatle, Sr. and Ida Hull Arwood; brother, James Arwood.
Funeral 8 p.m. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Buford Albright and Rev. Bruce Poplin officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #5156. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

CLAUDE H. BELCHER
Mr. Claude H. Belcher, 79 of Eustis, Florida, died Sunday, September 5, 2004. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and step father. Mr. Belcher was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, a veteran of WWII having served on the USS Roach on D-Day. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Elsie L. Belcher. He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. Belcher; one son, Gary (Bonnie) Belcher of Tampa; two daughters, Rita (Jon) Rackley and Julie Reilly both of Eustis; sister, Dorothy Gresham; brother, Raymond, both of Alcoa, TN; six grandchildren, Laura Lipan, Karie Davis, Gray Rackley, Dan Belcher, Aubrey Hueman and Amber Reilly; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Lipan and Carson Belcher; stepchildren, Nancy and Rick Doiron, Curtis and Monica Ballard; step-grandchildren, Rod and Chad Doiron, Stacey, Shannon and Savannah Ballard. Funeral services will be held from the graveside in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mt. Dora at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Bob Walker officiating.
